Can you turn on voice guidance with the firestick independently? The one i
got is:
Fire TV Stick, with Alexa Voice Remote
A brief primer on getting this up and running from an accessibility
standpoint would be appreciated, or links to such.

I have tried all key combinations and can't get into bios. I can put DVD in and the message comes up to press any key to boot and I do that and no matter what I do the computer goes into automatic repair but can't repair. My conclusion is that there must be a motherboard problem.

as soon as the computer starts you have to enter the one-time-boot-menu with either f9, f12, escape, f11, one of those keys, choose the dvd drive, hit enter. this menu does not talk so you will hav to use the be my eyes app on your phone and get sighted help with that.

If it were only that easy.  I have a not-so-old flip phone that may be able to receive text messages; but I have no idea how to receibve or read them.

So many here have said that there is a link on that page that will make it go away--at least for this time.  I do appreciate you folks and I'll look harder for that link and try alternate ways to access the page

Thanks for everyone who weighed in on this and I will calm down and comply to whatever degree I'm able.

Hi all,

I can understand that you are security conscious, but this is going a trifle overboard. Your phone probably can receive texts, you just haven't been shown how to access them. If you're really paranoid about it, get a family member to help you. Texting isn't arcane, it's just a PITA if you have a feature phone. It can be done, though. It's the wave of the future. If you can't beat 'em join 'em.

You may want to look into the Smart Vision II which is a smart phone for blind people. It has both a keyboard and a touch screen. The basic model costs $600.00. It has fully funtioning voice read-out and voice input too. It has buttons, actual pushable buttons.

Hi Karen:

Also, I sent a link to Billy in an earlier post this morning that lists all the audio described shows available. You can scroll through them and add them to your watch list if you think you might like them.

Real problem AComputer is stuck in endleless loop

Loy <loyrg2845@...>

After I tried to run a system restore to an earlier date, something went wrong. and now the computer is stuck in an endless automatic repair mode when the computer tries to boot.  I get message it can't repair. So I have tried to use a windows 10 ISO to do a clean install of windows,, after the ISO tries to start it goes back to automatic repair. I also tried to use a Windows boot disk to try to restore a system image. I get the message that the disk is not a system disk. Does it matter what bit OS the ISO is? The ISo and the Repair disk was 64 bit and I don't remember which the other computer was. Thanks for any help to get the computer up and running again either clean install or restore system image.

Karen:

Also, here are the instructions to turn on audio description after you get your remote voice view working.

I had trouble finding out anything on the web to do this, but Danny came to the rescue. Here are his directions to turn on audio description.

1.Select the show you want
2. Press the pause button
3. Press the Menu button twice.4. Press the down arrow once this should put
you on the sub-title audio selection press select and choose the selection
you nee.Once you are through back out of the Menu and press the play button.

You can find a list of audio described shows on Amazon prime video.

Once you choose audio description, it will come on every time you start an audio described TV show or movie.

There must be a way to dismiss that screen and go on to my account. The

code to the made-up number. I marginally abused they're customer

The not now is definitely a link not a button. Try searching for the phrase
"not now" that may help.
