need a new watch
Keith S
Just got off the emails with the braille super
store and due to the watch havig been purchased several years ago, the customer
service employee simply said, "sorry, we can't help you regarding this matter
anymore".
So, considering I only paid $20.00 for the watch
and no shipping was charged, I guess you get what you pay for.
So, can anyone suggest an affordable, reliable
talking watch and a company at which I can purchase said
watch?
Thanks

Re: Firefox Still Blasting Me with Spam
Gene
It is possible and if you try it you will see that
it is. The structure is recognized as a button but the underlying
structure is a link. If this were a real button, you couldn't do this, but
since it is a link that looks like a button, you can. I've done it and I
learned about this from others before I tried.
I don't know if anyone on the list can advise you
further about how to remove whatever is generating the ads. Since you say
the ads only are presented when you open Firefox, then perhaps you can get rid
of them by removing and reinstalling Firefox completely. But we don't know
if the adware is just in Firefox or not. Even if it is just in Firefox,
that isn't the solution I think is best. I think using Firefox portable is
a better one. Then, if you don't get ads, you can import your book marks
and delete the installed version. Then you would just use the portable
version.
The advantage is that if anything gets corrupted in
the portable version, you don't have to try to repair it or create a new
profile. You can just keep a backup copy of the portable version which you
would make a new backup for from time to time and delete the old backup.
Then, if you need to, you would delete the copy you usually use, and copy the
backup to that location.
If you want to try using the portable version, let
us know and list members can tell you where to get it and answer any questions
you may have.
However, and I don't know if you need to worry
about this, you may want to join a site like
and ask if, and what you should do to try to be
sure nothing is on your machine or nothing you have to worry about after you
have removed Firefox and if the ads are gone. Or you may want to continue
to use your copy of Firefox and ask about the problem on Bleeping
Computer. .

Hi Norma,
The labels are purchased by letter designation. The labels that come with the Pen Friend are the letter, A, designation so, when you run out of the, A's, you then buy a package of the, B, labels then, C labels and so on and so forth. The Pen Friend will accomodate all the various letter designations in its memory.

Are these ads for various
products? Can you give us any idea about what they are about?
Are you a free Send Space user? If I were
going to bet, I'd say I suspect it’s a 98 or more percent probability. You
should never download files as a free user, if you have scripts enabled by
pressing the download button. That shows third party advertising and Send
Space has a bad history of using third party advertising that is hacked and
becomes malicious. right click and use what Firefox calls "save link
as." I don't know how prevalent that is now, but years ago, it was a
serious and recurrent problem and I wouldn't risk it today. I wouldn't be
surprised if something got on your machine. I have no idea what it is or
how you might get rid of it. Do you have other browsers? Does this
only happen in Firefox? If so, try Firefox portable.
