new iPod touch and IOS13

Josh Kennedy <joshknnd1982@...>

Hi,

Does IOS support Japanese braille output? Android does not, windows does not unless you use Japanese NVDA. Also what other accessibility features are in IOS13? Is it best to get an iPhone SE or iPod touch latest generation for a cheap IOS device? I want something with space for some games at least, maybe 32gb.

Subject: [TechTalk] How do I increase the speed and functionality of third party apps on Windows 10?

Hi,

How do I increase the speed and functionality of the latest version of third-party apps like NVDA and Thunderbird on the latest version of windows 10? Until I learn to improve things, I am finding it necessary to reload NVDA quite often, and Thunderbird can be sluggish as well. Can someone please give me the step-by-step instructions to make changes, or direct me to a resource?

Thanks much,

question about iPhones and iPod touch

Josh Kennedy <joshknnd1982@...>

Hi,

I may get an iPod touch or iPhone 6s or 7 in a month or two, just something cheap so I can play around with IOS and its apps. I have not used IOS 7 or 8 years ago back in early 2012. I imagine a lot has changed since then. Does it work well with braille? What braille output tables are supported? Are there more games for it than android has, and do they work with the apple airPods earBuds? If I get the new 7th gen iPod touch with the a10 processor, will braille screen input work ok on an iPod touch, or is an iPad best for that purpose? Or since I have an orbit reader20 anyway should I just use that for braille input? Does it work with braille better than android phones? I plan on getting either the cheap 32gb iPod touch or the cheap $330 32gb iPad just to have something to play around with IOS 12, 13, and future versions because I am curious as to how it compares to my xiaomi android phone with talkback.

If you have Xfinity as your Internet provider you should be able to login to Hotspots with your Xfinity username and password.

If you have an eye device you can set it up to be a mobile hotspot. The only thing is they will charge you monthly for it.
Hope this helps,

need suggestions

Sugar

Hi friends

Silly question here but I need to know the differences between Microsoft Home and Business program

I have a lap top that I plan to give to my husband for Father’s day and I have Jaws on it with a commercial or inactive key on it, frown.

The lap top is new but I don’t want to give him my programs, so I plan to purchase the software new. Smile and install it or have it installed.

So all I need is to find out which one to purchase.

Thanks

Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated

Will windows 7 32 bit install over win 7 64 bit

Fanus

Hello list
After a hard drive crash the guy from the pc shop thought to do me a favour
and instead of reinstalling my win 7 32 bit he installed win 7 64 bit. Now I
discovered that there is not a win 7 64 driver for my scanner. Would I have
to reformat my drive or will win 7 32 bit reinstall?

Home surveillance setup?

David Mehler

Hello,

Do we have any home owners on this list who have got experience with
surveillance devices, infrared cameras, motion-activated lights, etc?

The situation is as follows, I've got a part of my property that is
not visible especially at night and we've had a squatter. What I'm
wanting to do and I have no experience with any of this, no run-ins
with this type of technology, is put an infrared camera out there
possibly in conjunction with a motion-activated flood light.

As I said no experience from me, but I was talking to two someones
today, one of them recommended the Wyz devices, the other recommended
Ring Doorbell devices.

Anyone have experience with either of these?

If so, how are they in terms of accessibility?

Thanks.
Dave.

Keep losing connection on Second Gen Victor Stream - suggestions?

Peter Spitz

I have a second generation Victor stream that seems to be losing it's
internet connection more frequently lately. This is particularly
frequent on two of my radio stations. In order to get the connection
back, I have to turnoff the Stream and restart it. If anyone has any
ideas or suggestions, I would appreciate it. My WiFi in my house is
good, all my other computers are connected just fine and don't lose
their connections, neither do the cell phones in the house.

Thanks in advance,

Peter

question: deluxe talking watch

Keith S

Hi, I'm the one dealing the an issue with the deluxe talking watch from the braille super store.

The "customer service" person, in an email, told me to hold down 2 buttons to place the watch into sleep mode.  I tried doing this but nothing seemed to happen.  I don't know if the watch was supposed to make a sound or what.  I asked the support person and they did not comment or respond to that issue.  The watch was continuing to respond to button pushes, voiceing the things that the buttons did, but the watch would not keep the proper time.

I had sent the watch to 5 Am and then pushed the hourly chim button to set that feature to on.

Then, it seems that the watch came alive again and chimed at 5, 6, 7 and 8 am.  At that point, I pushed the proper buttons to set the proper time and date but the watch did not keep the proper time still

Now, teh watch does not voice at all, and I asked my wife if there was anything on the display of the watch.  She responded no, there was nothing on the display.

Anyone have this happen on their deluxe talking watch from the braille super store?

It may be something as  simple as changing the battery out for a new one, or it could be something that fried in the circuits inthe watch.

Shrug

Just don't want to piss money on a battery I may not be able to use on another watch if it does not work on this one.

Keith

Smiling?

By startup settings, are you referring to when one would first get their machine and boot it? If so, yes Narrator will work just fine, this has been true since 7, but maybe even XP just don’t recall.

Control+Windows+Enter keystroke in Windows10 to toggle Narrator.

By start-up settings, do you mean the windows 10 set-up screens?

Yes, it will.

Hi All.

At work, I have JAWS 2018. We are using Windows 7 and Office 365. Here
is my problem. Sometimes schedules change and we have to update our

Using JAWS, I cannot figure out how to delete or change an
appointment. If you know how, can you tell me how?

Thanks in advance
