I would suggest getting a booster from RadioShack. I know we have antenna TV

and the booster seems to help bring in more channels.

Adjusting Colomns For Outlook With JAWS

1. With focus in Outlook, use the keystroke Insert+F2 to open up the JAWS Manager.

2. Arrow down to Customize Outlook Message List and press Enter.

3. Arrow down through the various colomns and use the spacebar to easily adjust them according to your liking and OK it all when you get things you feel are the way you want because you can always come back, following the above steps once again.

Hi

I am having to completely reset my outlook inbox folders. Can somebody please tell me where to find the section in outlook where you can change the order in which the headers are displayed on a message? For example, in my sent folder my messages are showing as from adrien but I want the recipient name first, not sure where to find this in this version of outlook.

1. Highlight any email you are interested in blocking and use your Applications key (Shift+F10) and press J for the Junk submenu... option.

2. There will be options to Block, Unblock and Never Block etc.

It’d be best for you though if you just unsubscribed from these various lists instead like was already mentioned. Check the various footers of the emails because usually there is an unsubscribe address or address to the homepage within for a lot of lists which it sounds you already tried with unsuccessful results, but unsubscribing would be best because why cause your computer unnecessary work, you know?

Hi List  I am using Outlook 2016 on a Windows 10 desktop computer with Jaws 2019.

There are some lists that I have joined, but now I wish to unsubscribe from them.  However merely clicking on the unsubscribe button on some of these has not done the job.

Therefore, I figure the only thing left to do is to block them.

What is the specific peace of information from one of their messages do I need to have to do this?  What then do I do to block them?

Thank you very much for any help!

Beside the resolution, I only can recommend Epson and make sure it's the LED
scanner. Older model uses don't know what type. Not my speciality.
LED scanner is more efficient and much much more brighter and I would say,
it will make a different for certain situation.

There are screen readers either under development, or making the rounds in
Android Land. For now, the major one is Talkback developed by Google
itself! VoiceAssistant will only be found on Samsung phones particularly
its high-end ones!

I don't have an Alcatel toy; however, for a start, what have you done to get
your wife's toy working? If nothing, turn it on, wait about 30 seconds or
so, then place two fingers on the face of the toy and wait till speech comes
on then follow the prompts. Do you perchance know which Android version the
toy runs on?

Ok, if referring to your device as a toy robs off wrongly, pardon me, one of
my buddies and I consider these tools as toys and, if you've read any of my
notes to the list, you may have heard me refer to My Shiny Android Toys!

updating orbit20

Josh Kennedy

Well I updated the firmware, success. Updated bootloader, success. Then copied .bin file to sd card, turn off orbit reader. Held down dot4 and bottom right panning button while turning orbit20 on, released both keys, it said preparing and stayed there for a minute or so. Then the message changed to upgrading, some dot sixes went up and down to the right of the word upgrading. After 3 or so minutes, the message upgrade complete appeared then went away now all is well, all my files are still there. Just gotta to delete delete the bin file off the sd card now and I can do that with orbit20 file manager.

FW: [orbit-reader] New feature announcement - Firmware upgrade from SDCard

Sent from Mail for Windows 10

From: Tech Support
Sent: Thursday, June 6, 2019 15:48
To: orbit-reader@groups.io
Subject: [orbit-reader] New feature announcement - Firmware upgrade from SDCard

Hello, List Members.

Orbit Research is pleased to announce a much-awaited new feature – the ability to upgrade the Orbit Reader 20’s firmware from the SD card, instead of requiring a Windows PC!   This enables Mac and Linux users and those without direct access to a computer to easily upgrade the unit.

We would like to thank RNIB for supporting the development of this feature.

In order to use this feature, you will first have to update the bootloader, which is a mechanism to facilitate upgrading the system’s software.  Please note that upgrading the bootloader is required only in units that are currently in the field and is a one-time process.  New units from the factory will come with the new bootloader.

To perform the one-time upgrade of the bootloader, you will need to use a separate (Windows PC based) program which is similar to the firmware upgrade program that is used to upgrade the firmware.

Once you have the new bootloader in place, you will be able to perform future firmware upgrades through the SD card or the current method of using the Windows program.   Upgrading the bootloader is NOT necessary if you prefer to only use the existing method of upgrading the software using the Windows program.

Please download the software package titled “OR-20 - Bootloader Upgrade Package Setup vB0.00.00.05r02” from the Orbit Research website: https://www.orbitresearch.com/support/orbit-reader-20-bootloader-upgrade-package/

The package contains the following:

  1. Instructions to perform the bootloader upgrade:  OR-20 - Bootloader Upgrade Procedure v1.0.pdf
  2. Software Installation file: OR-20 - Bootloader Upgrade Package Setup vB0.00.00.05r02.exe
  3. A file containing release notes: OR-20 Bootloader Upgrade Utility vB0.00.00.05r02 Release Notes.txt

Important notes:

  1. Please read the instructions carefully before you start the upgrade
  2. Prior to starting the process, we strongly recommend that you confirm that your OR-20 unit is running software version B0.00.00.55r02 or later.  If it is running an earlier version, please upgrade it to the latest version B0.00.00.60r03 first. This will ensure that the messages that are displayed during the first upgrade using the SD card will match the messages described in the user guide.
  3. All settings on the Orbit Reader 20 will be reset to defaults after the bootloader upgrade
  4. If you have applied localization, you should download and use the latest localization package (version B0.00.00.26r01) from the website at https://www.orbitresearch.com/orbit-reader-localization-download/

The procedure to upgrade the bootloader is as follows:

  1. Install the OR-20 Bootloader Upgrade program by following the simple steps as is the case with any Windows installer.
  2. Once installed, run the Bootloader upgrade program.
  3. You can keep the OR-20 ON or OFF. It will not affect anything in the bootloader upgrade procedure.
  4. Connect the OR-20 to the PC using the supplied micro-B USB cable.
  5. Press and hold the Right Panning forward button (the lower part of the Right Panning button) and the Dot 6 key together.
  6. Now, press and release the Dot 8 key. The other keys can be released after this.
  7. The program will now begin preparing the device for upgrade.  This might take up to 10 seconds.
  8. When the preparation is complete, the program will show the message “The device is ready for upgrade”.
  9. Again, press and hold the Right Panning forward button and the Dot 6 key together
  10. Now, press and release the Dot 8 key. The other keys can be released after this.
  11. The program will begin the upgrade process and will take about 30 seconds to complete.
  12. The program will show the message “The device successfully upgraded to bootloader version vB0.00.00.xxyzz” after a successful upgrade.

For further details, please refer to the user guide at https://www.orbitresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/OR-20-Bootloader-Upgrade-User-Guide-v1.0-2.pdf

Once you have successfully upgraded the bootloader, your OR-20 is all set to perform future firmware upgrades from the SD card or using the traditional method.

The bootloader upgrade also updated your firmware to the latest version (vB0.00.00.61r01) and you do not need to reload any firmware for now, but If you wish to give the new method a try, you can download the standard firmware upgrade package from the website and perform the following steps:

Procedure to upgrade the firmware from SD card:

  1. Copy the binary file “Orbit Reader 20 - Target Software vB0.00.00.XXrYY.bin” from the download package to the root folder of the SD card. Use either the Orbit Reader Mass Storage Mode or remove the SD card and put it in a card reader on a computer. When completed, insert the SD card into the Orbit Reader 20.
  2. Turn off the OR-20. The unit should be turned off before the upgrade is started.
  3. Press and hold the Right Panning forward button (the lower part of the Right Panning button) and Dot 4 together, then turn on the Orbit Reader 20; it will show the message “Preparing…”. Now you can release all the keys. Typically, it will take about 40 to 50 seconds to prepare.
  4. Once preparation is complete, the Orbit Reader 20 should show the message “Upgrading….”.  Progress is shown by blinking 4 cells containing dot 6 at the end of the message.
  5. Typically, it will take 2.5 to 3 minutes to upgrade the firmware. DO NOT remove the SD card during the upgrade process.
  6. When the upgrade has completed, the Orbit Reader 20 will show the message “Upgrade complete” for a few seconds and then the device will automatically reset itself and turn off.
  7. The Orbit Reader is now upgraded. Turn on the Orbit Reader to start using the device.
  8. To check for the successful upgrade of the device, press Select + Up Arrow to open the Orbit Reader Menu and arrow to "Ver" in the list. The version number of the firmware release should match the number in the name of the bin file.

For further details, please refer to the release notes at https://www.orbitresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/OR20-Software-vB0.00.00.61r01-Release-Notes.txt  and the updated user manual at https://www.orbitresearch.com/support/orbit-reader-20-support/orbit-reader-20-user-guide-downloads/. For upgrade instructions, please refer to Section 21 of the user guide.

Re: Changing a message subject

I have seen, and I like this better, when people start a new subject and say in the body of the message, that they are changing the subject.  Usually, you know what it relates to, because you have just seen people talking about what the new subjectline becomes, in the old subjectline, which has strayed off topic.  For instance: if somebody sent a message whose subject was:  “watching youtube on my phone”, and the topic strayed into people’s different phones that they used, and whether they were iPhones or android, and the features of each, then somebody starts a new subjectline from scratch and calls it “features or cellphones”, and says in the body:  “I changed the subject so we wouldn’t be off topic” or something like that, you can tell where it came from.  Pam.

The new subject is often related to the old subject when people do this, or it should be.  If the new subject is entirely different, then it should be a new thread.
