Re: Help Unsubscribing From a List

Hi George,
Thanks for the answer but it's not from this list that I want to unsub, it's from the Blind-X list.

Anyway, Ann provided me the instructions and I did it successfully. By the way, thanks Ann :)

Kerryn,

Yes, there is a couple that I ever recommend in topics like this one.
The first is the Eyes Free list. This was supposed to be the official
list for all things related to Android and Google Accessibility,
although every now and then topics that aren't in fact off topic are being flagged as this.
Go figure...
Not to mention that things there can get a bit hard sometimes with
folks discussing whether Apple is better than Google etc etc.
Anyway, should you want to join, send a blank email to
eyes-free+subscribe@googlegroups.com
<mailto:eyes-free+subscribe@googlegroups.com>

Now, if you want a list to talk freely (that is, without moderation)
about Android, with the plus of plenty of friendly folks, then you
should give ANTAD a go. Nowadays when it comes to Android this is the
best list I've ever seen.
All kinds of discussion happens there as well, only that it's always
in a very polite way and there's no disrespectful messages if you
don't agree with something.

Hi,

Could anyone please tell me how can I unsub from the Blind-X list?
I subscribed because at that time I was trying to find some cool lists. And not that Blind-X isn't one of them, it's just that I'm noticing that this list is indeed more focused on american citizens. Living in Brazil, needless to say that it's not being useful for me :)

Thanks a lot.

Well, the google mini is 49 and the echo  3rd dot is 29. They do just about the same. So the echo is cheaper than the google for now! And the echo has several alarms and you can change the name of the speaker, echo, alexa, amazon and computer! Also the echo list is way more active than the google list; that should tell you something! I know almost nothing about smart speakers like Alexa. Thought I would see if this would be something to replace a dead clock radio. I won't be controlling appliances or lights, just music and alarms. Could someone recommend one for me.

Amy Gordon asked:

"Do these groups still exist?"

There are myriads of Android lists all over the Internet. One or two on
freelists.org, any number on groups.io, and googlegroups.com/ Some are
active, others are rather quiet with barely any traffic. You can learn as
much as you choose to know on any number of Android lists, or, you can just
read the list silently, shrug your shoulders and get a good laugh or get mad
at a writer and hold back your anger. Ready-made, well-tailored stuff works
for some, Android is for explorers and that's why there are a trillion
choices on the platform. I prefer the platform because it reminds me so
much of Windows and its openness tells me that I can throw a baseball bat at
it and hit a home run if I am reasonably smart enough. But, alas, Olusegun
is not all that smart; I do however enjoy exploring and tearing my Shiny
Android toys to shreds and putting them back together just as I do with
Windows!

Sincerely,
Olusegun
Denver, Colorado

Re: android accessibility

Olusegun -- Victory Associates LTD, Inc.

Eyes-free barely has any traffic now. Antad, which is far more
authoritative than eyes-free, has regular traffic. Sorry, no moderation!
If you prefer moderation, Antad IS NOT THE LIST for you! But if you are not
faint-hearted and you're after tearing apart the innards of your Android toy
and making it your own, welcome onboard!

Sincerely,
Olusegun
Denver, Colorado

Task Manager Alternatives

Bhavya shah

Dear all,

I use NVDA on a Windows 8.1 laptop, and require to monitor resource
consumption - how much CPU and RAM certain apps and processes are
taking up. I find Task Manager inadequate for this purpose, mostly for
reasons such as a clunky and partly inaccessible/inconvenient
interface, and significant resource consumption of its own. Hence, I
am looking for an alternative program or software of this very nature.

I would greatly appreciate any inputs or suggestions that are known to
be accessible software for the above described purpose.

Thanks.

If your using the g-mail website, just arrow down your list of folders , starting with the inbox and you'll jump down to a header titled "labels", which is the name given for your created folders, and at the bottom of your list of folders or labels you'll get to a link titled "edit labels".
Press the enter key on it and the page will refresh and then just use the Shift key plus E keys to find the textbox to create your new folder.
