Thank you so much.  I did what you suggested and when I reopened the browser, I got this thing from Microsoft giving me all of these choices and the box was checked for making it my home page and I unchecked the box and it right to the one I wanted.  Let's hope this sticks.

Veronica:

When I open I.E. lately, I get a dialog box that wants me to OK the Microsoft recommended settings.

If you OK this, they will switch your home page to MSN and Bing.

You will have to go back and re-set your home page.

Re: Internet Explorer

That has been happening to me as well on my windows 7 computer. However, it did not start occurring until after I set up an account on my computer with windows 10.

Does anyone know why it would automatically go to msn.com instead of my home page? Also does anyone know how I would change it back? Does this browser need to maximized? Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: audio survur

Hello.
Thanks for your reply.
Well, what I want is to be able to stream music but also intigrate internet radio streaming with it. I saw that sonology nas have a audio program wich allow for that, but I won’t be able to get that soon. Then with plex
The advantage is that you can run the survur from windows but there is no internet radio there, plus I don’t have enough storage on my pc at the moment to build a big librarry.
That’s why I thought I ask, if there is other survurs to compare?

If you want other devices like Echo or Sonos to be able to access music
across your network, Plex is the way forward. If you want to start up an
internet radio station, then Icecast is a popular choice. Of course then
you have to find a streaming client and get listeners and all that
wonderful stuff.
Cheers,

Re: filtering the content of the Kim Komando newsletter to a different folder

Go to
and find and follow the link that says manage newsletters.  You will see, on that page, a list of newsletters with checkboxes if you want to subscribe or unsubscribe.  You uncheck something if you want to unsubscribe if you already are and check what you want and then submit the form.

I don’t think I use your e-mail program and I’m not sure the best way to find the address.  But you could make a message rule based on text that is always present in the subject line or the message body.

Hi all,

First I subscribed to a Kim Komando newsletter called Kim's tech hacks
and HowTo's, is that the only one or is there more than one?

Also, I'm getting so much from this newsletter that I want to filter the
content to its own folder so it doesn't fill up my inbox but I can't
figure out what address it's coming from, can anybody help?

Thanks.

There are several portable smart speakers for the Google Home, depends on
your budget and whatever other considerations need to be factored in.

The most common is the JBL Link10 and its associated cousins. It comes with
rechargeable battery; as such, you can move it from your bedroom to your
porch or kitchen and still issue the Google Home commands using your voice.

Re: Disabling JAWS Spelling and Grammar Errors

I know, but either will work.  Someone will probably provide the JAWS solution but if the person wants to stop the problem as soon as possible, they can do this.  Also, people using other screen-readers will be able to stop the problem this way as well, whether their screen-reader allows this to be changed in the screen-reader or not.

Whatever you can or can’t do in JAWS, you can turn the feature off in Word itself.

Creating Additional Accounts on Outlook 2016

Joe Orozco

Hello,

I want to add a second email account to Outlook 2016. However, I only
want to import mail settings. I do not want Contacts or Calendar for
this second account. Is that even possible? What I hate about a
secondary email account is that in my Contacts and Calendar windows, I
get views for this new account that I do not want to see.
Alternatively, is there a hot key to easily rotate between the
Calendars and Contacts for each account? I hope that all made sense.
:) Thanks in advance for any assistance.

That happened to me awhile back after making Chrome my default browser. I simply went into the options of IE and reset my home page. From then on, it went there instead of MSN.

Re: Internet Explorer

Gene

If you aren't seeing everything that should be on screen or you are uncertain, then maximizing might solve such problems.  But that has nothing to do with your problem.

Try the following.  If it doesn't work, then something has gotten into your browser making it go to the MSN.com page and it will have to be removed. Some sites or unwanted programs do this.

But first try this.  You may find differences but they should be minor.  I don't use Internet Explorer and I never updated it so these instructions are based on an older version.
First, open the web page you want to be the home page.
Then open tools with alt t.
After that, open options with o.
Tab until you get to a button that says use current.  Press the space bar.
Tab to the ok button and activate it.
Close the browser and open it.  See what page it goes to.
Let us know the results.

Fire tablet 7 Audio ducking? question?

Vicky Vaughan <vrvaughan63@...>

Hi List, When I am listening to music on my Fire 7 tablet version 5.6, I notice 2 types of Audio Ducking.

First, is where the tablet is announcing “Tablet Locked”.  This is annoying and I would like to stop this.

The second type of Audio Ducking happens for no known reason.  It will be playing a song and just as if it has an announcement, the music goes down for a moment and then returns to the volume that had been set.

Since Voice View doesn’t say anything in this situation, I don’t know if a message has flashed across the screen.  However, whether it has or not, I again want to stop this.

Do any of you know under what menu I might find and stop Audio Ducking?

Thanks very much for any help!

Sincerely, Vicky V
