Re: braille paper?

Hi Ann,

I believe that Star Continuous Card Systems has gone out of business, and the www.braillepaper address is connected with American Thermoform Corporation.  I bought 8.5 by 11.0 3-hole punched continuous form paper from Star Continuous Card Systems, and now no one seems to have anything except for the 19-hole comb binding paper.

Here's their list of what they have.  Call them for pricing because it keeps saying $19.95-$44.95, and I don't know the differents between stuff, what costs what, if you know what I mean.

Securing verizon?

David Mehler

Hello,

I've got some people who have verizon email addresses and they keep
getting what I know to be fake/phishing verizon emails. They're
getting a little peranoid and doing password change isn't calming them
even though they do it everytime. Is there a way to tighten up
verizon's email access on their side, maybe 2fa? I'm assuming they're
accessing either via phone (it would be an iPhone if it is) or pc
browser webmail access.

Thanks.
Dave.

I cannot duplicate your problem. I am using Dragon 13, with JSay 16, in Windows 10. I tried your problem both in Windows Explorer and Google Chrome.

I'll keep your message in case I come upon a solution.

Any Dragon users out there?  My Dragon setup works pretty well, except that when I type in Word or the search box on Google, I cannot type the letter C.  When Dragon is not loaded, I can type all letters just fine, but when Dragon is either minimized to my system tray or is on my taskbar, I cannot type the letter C.  Anyone ever have this happen?  If so, did you solve the problem, and if you did, how did you do it?

WebAIM: Screen Reader User Survey #8

Hi,
At this point, I believe most of you are aware of this survey. As soon as it got alive I thought about forwarding it to this list but for some reason I forgot to do it.
A new issue of the Top Tech Thursday's Tidbits has been published and one of the links is precisely about this survey. So now I don't have any excuse for not forwarding it :)

Anyway, if you weren't aware of it, now you are. So let's do our part and hope that it will indeed help to make the web more accessible :)
Here's the link for the survey

The BrailleNote Touch Plus has a built-in microphone. As far as I know, there's no way to adjust it in the settings. But if you're using an appp like Sound Recorder Pro, which is what I use, you can adjust the recording level in the app's settings.

Comparing the BlindShell Classic phone and the Lucia Phone

Carrie Morales

Hello Everyone,

I just released a video comparing the BlindShell classic phone to the Lucia phone. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/zTzPxlxfCTc . I go over the design, display, responsiveness, tactile-ness, and more so that you can make an informed choice between the two if you are looking for a simple and accessible solution. I’ve also already done a full review of the BlindShell phone so you can take a look at that here: https://youtu.be/XSE8grhy_8g

problem with accessible podcatcher

I am helping a friend install accessible podcatcher and I created an export file for him on my computer from my podcasts that he wanted. When he tries to import the file on his accessible podcatcher, he gets the following message:

Failed import
Sorry, Accessible Podcatcher could not read this OPML file.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Thanks.

Need info on creating a Linked In profile

Hi group,

The time has come for me to create a profile on Linked In. Over the years I've heard various opinions as to the accessibility and/or usability of the site. If there are tutorials or LISTSERVS or anywhere where I may obtain information on using the site I would appreciate hearing about them. I use Jaws, NVDA and Narrator and the browsers I use are Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Brave and I.E.

Thanks,
Norma

Even with a pretty powerful xiaomi android flagship phone, I noticed even
when using eloquence that talkback lags. I want to use braille with android.
But to be honest braille on android is an absolute mess! The command
structure makes no sense at all, its just a mess. I looked at braille on
iPhone and it behaves much more like what you get on the traditional
notetaker like a brailleNote or braille n speak. And I have been doing some
reading and several people on the internet told me voiceover responds much
faster than talkback does. I'll just be getting an iPhone7 from apple. I
don't need the newest phone, plus iPhone7 will get IOS updates for several
years to come, yet. So I think a 32gig iPhone7 for $450 will work just fine.
I need an unlocked one because I will be using it with tracFone.

You will see the name or email of the account you want to look at.

Re: password recovery programs?

Why not try The Last pass password manager.

That way you only have to remember your master password, and last pass does the rest.

It works on computers and smart phones.

Hi, when I log into gmail, I have my password saved as asterisks on my laptop on the site.

Are there any programs available that will read the asterisks as the actual password characters?

I wanted to keep them in a safe place  in a physical format to prevent a system crash or power failure in the house from losing the stored  info in folders on my computer.

Thanks
