Re: switching to iPhone or I-O-S-devices

Hi:

I have an iPhone 7 Plus with 128 gigs of storage. In the future, I want to get a phone with at least 256 gigs of storage. I store several bard books, some photos, a couple of videos and other documents. I always like to have more than less.

On my android phone I have eloquence, be my eyes, vocalizer voices, envision AI, Netflix and 3 or 4 other streaming apps including xfinity for my tv, 2 or 3 radio streaming apps. Some aps I need because the native ones are not accessible such as I have 2 or 3 camera apps. Every now and then I take video but my photos and videos do not stay on the phone. They go onto facebook or youtube and then get deleted off the phone. I don’t fill up my phone with unneeded stuff but yet when I go somewhere like vacation I like to take some movies and tv shows with me, then when done delete them off the phone. So, do you guys mostly buy 32gb or 64gb iPhones? I cannot really think of a case where a huge 256gb phone for me? Well I would never fill that up. And come to think of it, a 128gb iPhone I would never fill up either. I try to stream whenever possible. The iPhone7 seems most economical the 32gb one for $450. Or do most visually-impaired folks opt for the most storage?

Re: Securing verizon?

Gene

If you mean they are getting messages that claim to come from Verizon but don't, that has nothing to do with passwords or anything else in their account settings.  It has nothing to do with their accounts being hacked.  Any spammer can send any e-mail message to anyone and make the to line seem as though it comes from anyone.  They can claim to be from the IRS, Social Security Administration, Verizon, your next door neighbor, anyone.

If someone is using their account to send mail to others or looking at their e-mail, that's different and passwords should be changed.

Your message sounds as though it’s the first of these things that is occurring.  They should just delete such messages or report them to the appropriate department at Verizon, though I think that is a waste of time.

Hello,

I've got some people who have verizon email addresses and they keep
getting what I know to be fake/phishing verizon emails. They're
getting a little peranoid and doing password change isn't calming them
even though they do it everytime. Is there a way to tighten up
verizon's email access on their side, maybe 2fa? I'm assuming they're
accessing either via phone (it would be an iPhone if it is) or pc
browser webmail access.

Thanks.

Hi all,

Greg, I just called the number on the web site (800) 458-1413 and they are indeed American Thermoform corp. I believe that they still sell the paper, though. Don't know if the pricing is different, but a phone call will clarify all this.

Here's their list of what they have. Call them for pricing because it keeps saying $19.95-$44.95, and I don't know the differents between stuff, what costs what, if you know what I mean.

WebAIM: Screen Reader User Survey #8

Hi,
At this point, I believe most of you are aware of this survey. As soon as it got alive I thought about forwarding it to this list but for some reason I forgot to do it.
A new issue of the Top Tech Thursday's Tidbits has been published and one of the links is precisely about this survey. So now I don't have any excuse for not forwarding it :)

Anyway, if you weren't aware of it, now you are. So let's do our part and hope that it will indeed help to make the web more accessible :)
Here's the link for the survey

The BrailleNote Touch Plus has a built-in microphone. As far as I know, there's no way to adjust it in the settings. But if you're using an appp like Sound Recorder Pro, which is what I use, you can adjust the recording level in the app's settings.
