Agree totally with you Gene.  Strangely enough, the best PopUp blocker I've come across over the years is that built into Internet explorer, though It is generally a piece of crappy software which Microsoft allowed to be built into it's OS.  For me at least, it holds the record for the most number of crashes when it is actually being put to use.  Such a pity though because in terms of security, it was the best of the worst out there during that time frame.  c=Cheers!

Hi List, Since I hate wasting my time slogging through pop-up advertisements in my Chrome browser on my Windows 10 Desktop computer,

I clicked on an Add Blocker.

However, it did not come with instructions on how to allow an exception, when I do want to learn more.

Have any of you come across this and found a way to manage this?

Many and sincere thanks for any tips!

                Hello

Using Windows 10(1903,  Jaws 2019 and office/outlook 2016, where can I find  to change the sound on my e mail?

I want to hange the current sound or chime my pc makes when I receive a new message

Before today it was easily found in my sounds/volume

I currently have this in my system tray but when I go to open it to “sounds” I can’t find where to change it.

Thanks

I haven’t used either Dictation Bridge or Cortana, so don’t know which one to try.

Has anyone tried both and have a particular reason for one over the other?

Thanks very much for any thoughts on this!

Re: malware bytes was maybe a virus?

Troy Burnham

I installed malware bytes and registered it since I still had my product key, and it updated the definitions but it looks like I'm still running version 1.70 and I know the most recent version is way past that now, am I still okay running 1.70 since it still seems to work?

I looked at the report after it finished a quick scan and it didn't find anything, but I'm running google chrome now and I saw something about Internet Explorer. How do I get it to scan chrome and not IE? IE is on this machine but I only used it for a very short time after getting this machine until I could get it set up and get chrome installed, so if there are any problems it will be with chrome and not IE.

I don't know if it has any effect at all but have you ever tried restarting Thunderbird after changing the value from "false" to "true"?
Also, when you are writing a message, on Coding (or something like that), is it set to Unicode?
You can see it by pressing alt while you're writing then going to Options then Coding. At least that's how it displays here.

Lastly, on Options, is formating set to Select automatically?

I see you said that both incoming and outgoing messages are set to Unicode. Have you ever tried unchecking the box just next to where you set it up?

I'm just saying a few things that you may not have tried yet and maybe that's what you're missing. Good luck!

merging talkback with chromeVox and android with chrome-OS

Josh Kennedy

Hi,

Since chromeVox can do so much more than talkback as far as braille support, keyboard support, working with touch screens, math, and more… Why does google not just get rid of talkback and use chromevox for everything on all devices? If chromeVox worked on android then we would have great braille and keyboard support from the get-go, from startup to shut down. And the chromeVox braille support is lots more developed than talkback and brailleBack. And instead of android and chrome-OS, why doesn’t google just merge the two systems? Or just make chrome-OS run on everything with chromevox plus android apps working with chromeVox so you get the best of everything on phones, tablets and chromebooks? I think this would make the google experience even better than it is now and less fragmented.
