Thanks a lot Olusegun I think I found it on amazon. So I am guessing
this one has the alt windows apps key and control key on the right hand side? Amazon also has this keyboard for 19 dollars. Olusegun -- Victory Associates LTD, Inc.
Chief Lenron, spank me for sending you back to Logitech; thereafter, bring
out the wine and beer and let's have fun! For what you're seeking, check out the Logitech MK270. It does have an applications key between the Control and Altr keys on the right side of the keyboard. It is typically sold with a wireless mouse combo and comes with a USB dongle. The two AAA batteries don't seem to know how to run out. I can't recall when I changed them last, but they do keep on going and letting me get work done on either the computer or on My Shiny Android toys! Oh, almost forgot; this keyboard should be plentiful on Amazon. That said, if you can't find it, please drop me a short note privately and we'll figure things out from there. Sincerely, Olusegun Denver, Colorado

Hello,
Anyone using notepad++? If so, are there any preferences you've switched? Couple of things that are bothering me, it doesn't seem to announce spaces at the beginnings of lines or indents, and it doesn't announce what i've selected. Is there a better editor to use? Thanks. Dave.

Re: Making Thunderbird Default when using Send To Menu

I should add that, perhaps it might solve the
problem if you make another e-mail program the default, then you make
Thunderbird the default again. (It probably won't help, but sometimes
doing something like that solves a problem.

If you still can't do it, it may be some sort of
problem such as a registry setting or something else that users generally
wouldn't work with. You may be able to get help on a site like
where geeks hang out. You would have to
register, then look at available forums to see which one is correct for your
question.

Did you make it the default from within Windows or
from within the program. Windows often, perhaps usually, requires you to
do so within Windows. Those who use Windows 10 will, I expect, explain
how.

Seeking laptop consensus, storage drive versus DVD-R-W
Steven Johnson <saxmonger@...>
Hello good people. I just got a bare bones laptop that I am rebuilding for online sale. It has 2 drive bays; one of them will have a 256gb SSD. My question is this: Which do you prefer in a laptop, a DVD-R-W optical drive and no storage other than the solid state drive, or a 1tb 7200 RPM drive and no DVD ROM? It does have USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. Just taking a consensus in the blind/visually impaired community. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Re: Needing some advice on purchasing a new desktop

Yeah, I think Ninite is great. What a time saver for getting the latest versions of software installed with no stupid bloatware.
I suspect that many of the budget laptops are shipped out with 5400 RPM mechanical drives but that is financially necessary at times.
I did not know that you can alter Windows S to load non-Microsoft Apps. I am almost sure that that voids the warranty and. And many individuals do not have enough experience to try.
But this info is good to know just in case.

Just because it has windows s does not mean you cannot install jaws or NVDA. All you have to do is switch it out of s-mode, into the unrestricted windows 10 home mode. This can be done for free and the process is easy and accessible. Just google search switch windows 10 out of s mode. And then once you are out of s-mode then you can install whatever you want. But once you switch out of s mode, there is no going back unless you jump through complicated technical hoops to make a custom windows 10 in s mode installer and put it onto a USB flash drive. But really why would you want to go back to s mode once you switched out of it? Also getting a laptop with s mode can save you money. And if it has an ssd, solid state drive, it will run really fast. Just make sure the first thing you do after setting it up is switch it out of s mode. Then use www.ninite.com to quickly install your favorite apps including the NVDA screen reader. I like ninite, because it lets me quickly get up and going with a new computer and my most commonly used applications with little hastle or effort.

e-mail software and defender soft token?
goshawk on horseback
hello all,
probably a bit of a long shot, but are there any
accessible e-mail programs that will work with servers that require a defender
soft token code?
this is for my council work, but having to go
through webmail all the time, rather than being able to just have the messages
come through like I can my normal e-mail, is a proper pane in the behind!

Hi. I have both a logitech keyboard and a microsoft keyboard that fulfills what most of us blind folks need. It is a wireless keyboard that has a infrared to USB connector so that I can even type lying down on my bed. These are old model large keyboards though and with the need for smaller, more portable utilities these days, I'm not sure if these are still on sale. Cheers!

Hello all so I am looking for a new wireless keyboard, and I am
wondering does anyone know of a few models I could look into with the Applications key. It's pretty sad that these seem to be so hard to find these days. I have a Logitech here that I have had for a couple years and it doesn't have it. For most apps this is fine but there are just some that require the dedicated key. Thanks or any help you can give. -- Lenron Brown Cell: 985-271-2832 Skype: ron.brown762

Howdy Nancy,
See if the below notes / threads I've saved will
get you pointed in the right direction.
From: james f hooper
Greetings I haven't done this for awhile so have forgotten the steps. I have a large folder called docs and within the folder are different titles to download the entire folder would take days using the wizard, how can I look at the subfolders and select what I want to download thanks. James From:
Walter Ramage via Groups.Io Hi. Firstly put the URL into the wizard. Tab to add to download and press the spacebar. Next tab to navigate this folder in the remote browser and press the spacebar. Now, do alt and R to take you to the remote folders. Now you can arrow up and down and when you find a file you want press the spacebar on it and it will start to download. Walter From: Mike B. Hi All, If someone sends me a link to their TV show
folder, for example, & I click on the link to view the TV show folder to see
what TV shows the person has & let's say there 80 different TV show
sub-folders to choose from. Is there any way to download , for example,
the whole Adam-12 folder without having to open the folder, then open each
season individually, & download each episode individually for this
particular season, then moving on to the next season & .....?
I can put the link I'm given to the TV show folder
into the Send Space wizard & download the whole folder but, I'm trying to
find a way to download just the TV shows I want & not the whole folder using
the Send Space wizard. If this is possible, would someone please explain
how it is done? All advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
much.
Take care. Mike This email was sent from my, iBarstool. From: Thom Spittle
Hi there, Just like getting the link for the main TV folder, you can get the folder link for the show that you want. Press enter on the TV show folder link that you want, then press the, F6 key or Alt + D, to go to the address line in the browser and copy the url to the clipboard. Then paste it in your sendspace wizard. Thom Spittle thom3of5@... From: Robin Frost
Hi, Yes if you paste the link for the main parent folder into your wizard and then hit the button for downloading it’ll prompt you first to check the box for displaying all subfolders therein if you check that then you’ll be asked if you want to download the entire folder or navigate it in browser view. If you pick the latter you can then tab or shift tab to the list view of items that are in that folder. So in theory once you find your Adam 12 folder and are focused on it you’d then press f7 I believe it is and it’ll download the entire subfolder for that show only. Of course once viewing it in your internet browser as you described you could also just open up the subfolder in question grab its url and paste it in but I find the way I described previously to be a bit more straightforward. I hope that helps. Robin Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go
