Re: absolute backup for Android

Iaen Cordell

Interesting question:
Have you rooted your phone?
If yes you have a better chance of doing this, I also have looked in to this and several options are open to you.
Android studio lets you do a complete backup but, it is not to speech friendly under windows, maybe it has now improved.
Cheers

It worked for me too on two out of three PC's. I must have a setting out of whack on the third.

Carolyn, are you still not getting anything when you type insert+page down? I hear the number of total emails in the folder plus the number of unread emails. And, I hear zoom 10%

Cheers,It was your notes that helped me make the necessary changes. My menus in Outlook 2016 are slightly different but I stumbled through it.

Settings for displaying number of mailbox messages 1. Get in mailbox you want to remove filters from and set numbers in.
2. Alt+v+v.
3. Tab three times to Filters.
4. Shift+Tab.
5. Right Arrow to Advanced Tab.
6. Tab to Remove.
7. Tab to OK.
8. Tab to OK again - VOILA, you're done.

Trouble is, I have been trying that; I tried again. I am unable to make it work.

Hi,

I may have fixed my biggest problem with Outlook. All devices would hang several times per day forcing me to restart the device. That solution is available if someone else has the same problem.

The MS Disability Desk is a lot of help most of the time. However, they have really messed up my PC a couple of times. I have started creating a backup image of my PC before I even call them. Also, I create an image if I am going to mess with anything that I have doubts about.

For example, I accidentally locked myself out of one of my laptops while messing with pass words and user profiles. It only took an hour to replace the entire drive from an image that I had made a few hours before I started messing around.

Cheers,

James B

All 3 of my devices will hang. That is Outlook hangs.
Then, I must do a forced shutdown and restart Outlook. This happens 2 or 3 times a day.

disability tech support reinstalled my server settings on two machines with no success. They are now suggesting a repair on Outlook.

I have put that on hold for a day or so. I am Googling around to learn more. There are plenty of people who have the same problem And, with many solutions that I want to investigate before I get stuck having to install an image backup because MS or I destroyed my current drive.

I really want Office 365 to work. I am accustomed to some of its menus and keystrokes. it has a lot of very cool features. Its spell-checker and language checker are awesome. And, I am now liking Imap. but, still that learning curve.

I still have one more item that I hope can be resolved. I want to know how many emails are in my In-box and where I am in the list. For example, if I have 100 emails in my In-Box and I am on email number 50, I would like Jaws to say 50 out of 100.

I have the check box in folder properties checked that tells Outlook to number all mail. What else should I try?

I am using Jaws 19, Office365 and Windows10.

Thanks for any ideas,

Since using google chrome, I when to properties and put in a shortcut

couple of weeks and then deletes itself.  When I tried to hit control,
alt C, nothing happened so I went back into properties and I had to do
everything all over again.  I can't tell you how many times this has
happened since I started using Chrome.  Even when I put the shortcut key
in, I have to go to where it says and maximize it again.  Everything
that I have done deletes itself.  So after I maximize it, I hit apply
and then OK. All of my other programs are fine and the shortcut key
stays and doesn't delete itself.  I saw something in properties where it

even had someone who is sighted put it in there way and it deleted
itself like it does for me.

That's another good way you may want to try.

If you pin it to the task bar, you can use a Windows key shortcut to open it.  There are already some prepinned programs so some numbers, from 1 to 9, are used.  But it will be the next number, in order from 1 to 9, to be available.

I'm not getting the same results as you. Maybe we are using different versions of Outlook or our settings are different.

Let me know if you discover how to make changes to the filters.

Insert+Page Down used to tell me the number, which I gave
that command on another list. However, if the filters are on, that command will provide no number information. I would love to know how to remove the filter. But, Insert+8 will sai a message and one out of seven or 22 out of 35, whatever is there.

As far as being announced 50 out of 100 not at all sure of how one would do that with JAWS. Hearing how many emails within whatever given folder, just try using the keystroke (while focus is within this folder)

Hi all,

I've been using Outlook with IMap for over a week now. I am grateful to all who talked me in to trying it again. 4 or 5 years ago, it didn't work for me. Now, I have a faster internet connection and faster computers and I am loving Outlook and imap.

James B

Nice try Miss Carolyn but no joy.

I get the default ding just as soon as I hit the second V.

On a slightly different matter, I accidently turned off the feature that allows the insert key+page down to announce number of total emails in a folder plus the number of unread emails. When I eventually compare that PC with one that reports the numbers right, I will send you the directions. I know you want that feature and Maybe the difference between Outlook 2013 and 2016 won't matter.

James, I doubled checked in my Outlook tutorial and found this:

Cheers,

I might be stuck with Office 365. I'll reluctantly get over the numbering of emails if I must. Its just a massive learning curve. Plus, I have an unidentified problem.

Hi Shelly,

Another way to get around having a shortcut keystroke is pinning the Chrome icon to the taskbar.  I never have had a taskbar shortcut icon fail or get deleted.

Hi Shelly,

Lets see if this works.

1.  Type the word chrome in to your Windows search box.
2.  Hit your application key or, type shift+F10.
3.  Use the up and down arrow keys to find, Open file location and hit enter.
  4.  Use your up and down arrow keys to find Google chrome
6.  Hit your application key or, type shift+F10.
7.  Up arrow to properties and hit enter.
8.  Tab to the place where it says hot key none.
9.  Type the hotkey that you want.
Note, you might get stuck using something different than control+alt+C because you have already tried that before.
If so, maybe Control+shift +C will be OK for you.
10.  tab to apply and hit the space bar.
Note, .  if you get declined, just hit the space bar again.
11.  Shift+tab to the OK button and hit the space bar.

Now, you should be all set.

HTH,

James B

         Hi Everyone:

Since using google chrome, I when to properties and put in a shortcut
key and I made it control alt C which works great but it only lasts a
couple of weeks and then deletes itself.
I saw something in properties where it
says change Icon but I didn't do anything.  Any help on this would be
greatly appreciated.  I just have no idea why this keeps happening and I
even had someone who is sighted put it in there way and it deleted
itself like it does for me.

Carolyn, I thank you too. I finally got it to work. My menus are just slightly different from yours.

I still do not have Jaws telling me where I am in the ocean of emails but at least I can tell how big the ocean is and how many of the emails have not been read.

I bet you was glad to get that fixed.

Subject: [TechTalk] Chrome Question

Hi Everyone:

Since using google chrome, I when to properties and put in a shortcut
key and I made it control alt C which works great but it only lasts a
couple of weeks and then deletes itself.
I saw something in properties where it
says change Icon but I didn't do anything. Any help on this would be
greatly appreciated. I just have no idea why this keeps happening and I
even had someone who is sighted put it in there way and it deleted
itself like it does for me.

Re: Chrome Question

Try using Send To to send the short cut to the desktop and making the shortcut key there.  If you don't know how to use Send To to do this, someone will explain it.  I don't use Windows 10 and I'm not sure if the procedure is identical to yours in my versions of Windows so I'll leave the directions to others.

I have no idea if that will solve the problem.  the information for short cut commands is stored in the registry and it sounds as though something may be causing the registry to lose its information.  But what that may be, I don't know.

Re: How do I get Jaws to number emails in Outlook using Jaws

James Bentley

Nice try Miss Carolyn but no joy.

I get the default ding just as soon as I hit the second V.

On a slightly different matter, I accidently turned off the feature that allows the insert key+page down to announce number of total emails in a folder plus the number of unread emails. When I eventually compare that PC with one that reports the numbers right, I will send you the directions. I know you want that feature and Maybe the difference between Outlook 2013 and 2016 won't matter.

James, I doubled checked in my Outlook tutorial and found this:

Settings for displaying number of mailbox messages

All devices would hang
several times per day forcing me to restart the device. That solution is
available if someone else has the same problem.

The MS Disability Desk is a lot of help most of the time. However, they
have really messed up my PC a couple of times. I have started creating a
backup image of my PC before I even call them. Also, I create an image if I
am going to mess with anything that I have doubts about.

For example, I accidentally locked myself out of one of my laptops while
messing with pass words and user profiles. It only took an hour to replace
the entire drive from an image that I had made a few hours before I started
messing around.

Cheers,

James B

I might be stuck with Office 365. I'll reluctantly get over
the numbering of emails if I must. Its just a massive
learning curve. Plus, I have an unidentified problem.

All 3 of my devices will hang. That is Outlook hangs.
Then, I must do a forced shutdown and restart Outlook. This
happens 2 or 3 times a day.

disability tech support reinstalled my server settings on
two machines with no success. They are now suggesting a
repair on Outlook.

I have put that on hold for a day or so. I am Googling
around to learn more. There are plenty of people who have
the same problem And, with many solutions that I want to
investigate before I get stuck having to install an image
backup because MS or I destroyed my current drive.

I really want Office 365 to work. I am accustomed to some
of its menus and keystrokes. it has a lot of very cool
features. Its spell-checker and language checker are
awesome. And, I am now liking Imap. but, still that
learning curve.

I've been using Outlook with IMap for over a week now. I am
grateful to all who talked me in to trying it again. 4 or 5
years ago, it didn't work for me. Now, I have a faster
internet connection and faster computers and I am loving
Outlook and imap.

I still have one more item that I hope can be resolved. I
want to know how many emails are in my In-box and where I am
in the list. For example, if I have 100 emails in my In-Box
and I am on email number 50, I would like Jaws to say 50 out

I have the check box in folder properties checked that tells
Outlook to number all mail. What else should I try?

I am using Jaws 19, Office365 and Windows10.

Thanks for any ideas,
