Ms. Smith, I have a pocket-size folding bluetooth keyboard from Plugable;
I've had this keyboard for more than two and a half years assuming the
memory cells are not playing a cruel game with me.

I do like Plugable products; I didn't know though that they also make sound
cards. Their Tech Support is stellar albeit I've only had the need to use
their assistance once! Plugable is based in the great state of Washington;
give their sound card a try and hopefully you might like it.

Sincerely,
Olusegun

Hi all,

I have a second generation victor reader stream and I purchased the
Miccus transmitter/receiver from TalkingMp3Players.com last week so I
can use a bluetooth headset with the victor reader.

I plugged the transmitter into the victor and turned on the headset
which immediately said it was in pairing mode because it's new as
well, purchased elsewhere, then I held the button on the transmitter
for 8 seconds as the audio instructions told me to do, and near the
end I heard the headset say connected but just a second or 2 later it
disconnected again. Before I call for tech support I wanted to see if
anybody might know what I'm doing wrong and why I can't get
everything to work as it should, I suspect I'm not that far off getting it right.

Thanks.

Can someone please give me specific instructions on how to set my youtube notifications for each channel to notify me via e-maill when an update or new video is uploaded to that channel?

Re: how do I enable the win amp equalizer once I have it open?

Gene

Make sure you are in the equalizer window.  Control tab will move you there if it is opened.  If you try control tab a few times and nothing happens, issue the command alt g.  Now control tab should place you there.  Now n will toggle the equalizer on and off.
Once you are finished working in that window, you can either control tab back to the main window or you can close the window first with alt g, then control tab to the main window.  The equalizer will continue to work if it is on and the window is closed.

If you know you are in the equalizer window and you don't hear an announcement when you use n, let us know.

Re: the Victor reader stream and bluetooth

Steven Johnson

I think Troy may just be having problems with more than one device fighting to pair with his Bluetooth headphones. I think he has a Miccus Bluetooth transmitter hooked to his Victor. When that happens to me, I will often just unplug or temporarily turn off the other devices to which I have paired a speaker or headphones while I am trying to get paired up with one particular source like the Miccus. I have had Bluetooth transmitting devices like the Echo often fight for my headphones if more than one of the transmitting devices are running and constantly trying to pair with my headphones.

Re: Realtek Driver With Equalizer

Gene

Since the message below the question is about the Realtech equalizer, it can't be assumed that the Winamp equalizer is being discussed.

But the answer, whichever equalizer it is, is yes.  The Realtech equalizer must be accessible or Mike wouldn't have provided a means to get it.  That's what all equalizers do, adjust different frequency bands of sound so you can customize the sound as you wish.  Base and trebble controls are, in a way, very crude equalizers.  They adjust bass and trebble but not with anywhere near the fine control of equalizers, which have five bands, ten bands, and some may have more, I never checked.

Yes, you can adjust the equalizer to your liking for bass which would be 1 and Q to adjust accordingly, and 0 and P for treble.

Use the following hot keys in the WinAmp Equalizer (for JAWS users):

To open/close the equalizer, press Alt+G.

To enable/disable the equalizer after it is opened, press N.

To toggle equalizer auto-loading, press A.

To open the presets menu, press S.

To increase the equalizer bands, press 1 through 0 on Numeric Row.

To decrease the equalizer bands, press Q through P.

To increase the equalizer  PreAmp, press GROV ACCENT.

To decrease the equalizer PreAmp, press TAB.

Howdy,

Below is the download link for the Realtek driver with equalizer I use when necessary to fix a Realtek soundcard problem if this problem pops up.  Read the instruction text file before attempting the executable.  If you don't follow the instructions you'll get an error message when trying to install.  I use this driver for both Windows 7 & 10 64 bit Pro systems.

You don't need to and even if it isn't working properly, its good to have a backup.  Any card you plug into the USB ports becomes the default sound card.  Its better not to micromanage things to that extent.

I made the mistake of trying to pair it with my phone with my hearing aids
on, because I need them, but they can pair. Tomorrow, since I've been busy
all day today, I'll disconnect my hearing aids and get it paired, then
re-pair my hearing aids to the phone.

Subject: [TechTalk] the Victor reader stream and bluetooth

Hi all,

I have a second generation victor reader stream and I purchased the Miccus
transmitter/receiver from TalkingMp3Players.com last week so I can use a
bluetooth headset with the victor reader.

I plugged the transmitter into the victor and turned on the headset which
immediately said it was in pairing mode because it's new as well,
purchased elsewhere, then I held the button on the transmitter for 8
seconds as the audio instructions told me to do, and near the end I heard
the headset say connected but just a second or 2 later it disconnected
again. Before I call for tech support I wanted to see if anybody might
know what I'm doing wrong and why I can't get everything to work as it
should, I suspect I'm not that far off getting it right.

Thanks.

Troy

Re: downloads in windows 10?

Hi Aisha,

Try the following to set your download folder so it doesn't show the so called calendar for lack of a better term.

From: Chris via Groups.Io
This is because the group by option is enabled
If you deselect all files in the folder then do the equivalent of a right click and in the menu go to group by and in the sub menu choose none

That should do it

 Chris

From: Mike B
Put your downloads folder into, List or Details view, and also choose, None, from the Group By folder.  Below are shortcut keystrokes for changing view
settings, but you'll need to open the view menu to access the, Group By, folder to change it to, None.

CTRL + SHIFT + 1 Extra Large icons,
CTRL + SHIFT + 2 Large Icons,
CTRL + SHIFT + 3 Medium Icons,
CTRL + SHIFT + 4 Small Icons,
CTRL + SHIFT + 5 List view,
CTRL + SHIFT + 6 Details view,
CTRL + SHIFT + 7 Tiles view,
CTRL + SHIFT + 8 Content view.

Re: Realtek Driver With Equalizer

Wow!

Trebble and base, volume and separation I know.

What are extra/other bands?

What does a preamp do?

Thanks,

Monte

Can I control the trebble and bass levels using the equalizer.  My bose Bluetooth has too much bass by itself.

Soundcards

Depending on what a user is wanting to accomplish is primarily what would determine which soundcard he or she would actually want to use, but USB soundcards at about $6.49 work just fine for basics. These cards will be 16bit (example below from Amazon). The soundcards are generally about half the size of a USB flash drive with two 3.5mm phono jacks, one for mic input and the other for output (speakers/headphones).

Fred, if you get another sound card, you might want to disable the Realtech card.

An external card will connect to your computer's usb port. Now be sure when
you get one to install the included drivers that come with it. You will get
a cd in the box.

Gene, thanks for your response and could you give me a little info on
the externalUHB sound card as I am not familiar with external soundcards
.
Are
external soundcards a stand alone device?

You can try removing the program and whatever driver is used. but
without a description of the problems, people have no idea if the
problem is more likely a software problem or perhaps a hardware
problem, the card itself.
I
have never tried to uninstall the program and I can't tell you how to
completely uninstall all traces of it. Depending on the problem, just
uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it or updating the driver
might be all that makies sense to do. All the rest may be irrelevant
to the problem.

Also, it might be time to just stop using the Realtech built-in audio
and get an external USB sound card. But again, we can't discuss the
problems without knowing what they are.

Subject: [TechTalk] Real techh problem

I am using Win 10, latest jaws and outlook 2019. I have been having
problems with real tech on this computer since I purchased it which
was about 18 months ago and I should returned it but I did not as I
thought the problem was in the settings. I have had different
technicians work on this problem but nothing has worked for long and
everything seems to be patchwork and works for a time. I want to
completely unstall real tech, drivers etc and do a complete new
installation as if it were a new computer and start over. I want no
more patchwork or repairs as I have had enough. I would appreciate
any suggestions on removing real tech and installing new version.
Thanks much for any advice or help. I have three computers and the
other
2
computers work fine with real tech.
