have also had this same issue. I really think it is something that amazon
should get on top of, as unlike with a pc, tablet, or phone, there doesn't
seem to be a way of differentiating between skills if they have the same
name.

Hi Mike.  Indeed It does.  O and i must straighten this out.  I am a Singaporean actually.  I am married to a girl from the philippines and she and our five kids live there while I stay in singapore to work and support the family.  I go back to see them twice a year, once for my wife's birthday, and once for christmas, and I will uproot myself from Singapore to live in the philippines once i am retired.  Thanks again, all of you for your prayers.  They have indeed been invaluable to us.  Cheers!

Haven’t you ever seen and played with an actual equalizer before? The potentiometers (the adjustable slides) on the left are for lower frequencies (bass), the ones in the middle are  going to be for midrange frequencies and the ones to the far right are for higher frequencies (treble) and this is true for all equalizers, but how your individual ears hear is going to be different than the rest of us. So adjust them to your liking however that may turn out to be.

Yes, you can adjust the equalizer to your liking for bass which would be 1 and Q to adjust accordingly, and 0 and P for treble.

Use the following hot keys in the WinAmp Equalizer (for JAWS users):

To open/close the equalizer, press Alt+G.

To enable/disable the equalizer after it is opened, press N.

To toggle equalizer auto-loading, press A.

To open the presets menu, press S.

To increase the equalizer bands, press 1 through 0 on Numeric Row.

To decrease the equalizer bands, press Q through P.

To increase the equalizer  PreAmp, press GROV ACCENT.

To decrease the equalizer PreAmp, press TAB.

Below is the download link for the Realtek driver with equalizer I use when necessary to fix a Realtek soundcard problem if this problem pops up.  Read the instruction text file before attempting the executable.  If you don't follow the instructions you'll get an error message when trying to install.  I use this driver for both Windows 7 & 10 64 bit Pro systems.

Hi,

Here is the link to the speeddots overlay for the iPhone 7. In case for some reason the link does not take you to the exact page, the requested info can be found under the “legacy page” on the speeddots home page.

Hi Speeddots,

While looking  on your website, I did not see any mention of the I phone 7.

I am interested  in the telephone overlay for an I phone 7.

Yes, the one with dots on all the keypad numbers etc.

Do you have this?

How much does it cost?

How much to ship to Canada?

Re: When I go in to my documents to look at the files there I can't see them

Thank you everyone for your help.
I did a search and this solved my problem. Just in case anyone is having trouble with the same thing, I’ll share what I have learned.
Incidently, I was doing a search for the documents from the start menu with no success. I was unable to maximize it.
Perhaps this will help anyone else.

Opening documents in windows 8.1

Opening Documents in Windows 8

Showing Documents through Windows Explorer
1.    Open 1.    Windows Explorer.
2.    Double-click the This PC icon.
3.    Double-click the Documents folder.
Browsing to the Documents folder in Windows Explorer
1.    Open Windows Explorer.
2.    Under This PC double-click the C: drive.
3.    In the C: drive, double-click the Users folder.
4.    Double-click the <name>, where <name> is the name of your user account. For example, if your login name is Nathan, you would click on Nathan.
5.    Double-click on the Documents folder.
Showing Documents on the desktop
In early versions of Microsoft Windows, the My Documents folder could be found on the desktop by default. However, Windows 8 has the start screen and has disabled this feature by default. If you want this folder on the desktop, see our show the documents folder on the desktop page.
Once Documents is visible on the desktop, double-clicking on this folder allows you to access your saved documents on your computer.

I'm not sure what that means.  Do you have a sighted person who can tell you if the files are being displayed?  I'm trying to think of another way you can get to the same files.  Are you opening My Documents on the desktop?  I don't recall if you stated what version of Windows you are using but there is at least one more way to get to the folder.  Try an experiment.  Open the start menu search and type documents.  Do you see a documents folder or more than one?  Can you open them and see the files?

Others may be able to give you other ways or better ways.  I'm making a suggestion but I don't know what you will see to open.

But I'm suggesting finding another way to open the folder because you may currently be working with the library and not directly with the folder.  Something may have happened that is causing yu problems with the library but that may have nothing to do with working with the folder itself.

their assistance once! Plugable is based in the great state of Washington;
give their sound card a try and hopefully you might like it.

In the settings under autofill, there should be a checkbox you can check. It's been a while since I've adjusted mine, so I don't remember exactly how I did it. I hope that helps.

Oh then, that's good. I like the Miccus I bought from yhou, Laz. Unlike the cheapy from Ollie's Army, it navigates without hesitation. I talked on the thing for hours this afternoon, have it charging for a while now.

It isn't Carolyn, but the Miccus Swivel Jack RTX is what's being talked about here being used with the Stream.

Carolyn,

On the talking mp3 site it mentions the Victor reader as being
something that can be made to work with a bluetooth
transmitter/receiver so that's why I bought the Miccus. I might just
have to call and find out why I haven't been successful so far if nobody on the list can give me any ideas.

The sound, using the cable is wonderful, isn't it?

I made the mistake of trying to pair it with my phone with my hearing
aids on, because I need them, but they can pair. Tomorrow, since I've
been busy all day today, I'll disconnect my hearing aids and get it
paired, then re-pair my hearing aids to the phone.

Hi all,

I have a second generation victor reader stream and I purchased the
Miccus transmitter/receiver from TalkingMp3Players.com last week so I
can use a bluetooth headset with the victor reader.

I plugged the transmitter into the victor and turned on the headset
which immediately said it was in pairing mode because it's new as
well, purchased elsewhere, then I held the button on the transmitter
for 8 seconds as the audio instructions told me to do, and near the
end I heard the headset say connected but just a second or 2 later it
disconnected again. Before I call for tech support I wanted to see if
anybody might know what I'm doing wrong and why I can't get
everything to work as it should, I suspect I'm not that far off getting it right.

Thanks.

Troy

Vicki W

I am  still having problems getting YouTube to send me e-mail notifications when my channels are updated. I followed the instructions that were given, but it didn't work.

Can someone please give me specific instructions on how to set my youtube notifications for each channel to notify me via e-maill when an update or new video is uploaded to that channel?

Thanks.

Re: how do I enable the win amp equalizer once I have it open?

Gene

Make sure you are in the equalizer window.  Control tab will move you there if it is opened.  If you try control tab a few times and nothing happens, issue the command alt g.  Now control tab should place you there.  Now n will toggle the equalizer on and off.
Once you are finished working in that window, you can either control tab back to the main window or you can close the window first with alt g, then control tab to the main window.  The equalizer will continue to work if it is on and the window is closed.

If you know you are in the equalizer window and you don't hear an announcement when you use n, let us know.

According to a key stroke list I have it says use the letter n to do that, but when I press the letter n, it doesn’t say enable or disable, so what should I do to enable the equalizer? I am running windows ten and jaws 2020. Thanks for your help. Jim

Hi Laz,

I had the headset and the transmitter easily within 3 feet of each other
but my phone and my echo were both within the same distance and of
course they both have bluetooth so that may be the problem. I'll try it
again some time today, this time further away from the phone and the
echo, and if I still don't have any luck I'll give you a call.

Troy, Two things to consider first.

1. Did you put the transmitter and your receiving device close
together during pairing?

2. Are all other Bluetooth devices in the vicinity either turned off
or had their bluetooth turned off?

You may wish to use your mom's eyesight to see the pretty lights which
is a better indicator of what the Miccus Swivel Jack RTX is doing
rather than relying on your counting at the same speed I did which was
very slowly.

I paired mine with my Echo Dot so I can use it as a computer speaker
when I wish to play something on my computer for the benefit of others
and it works beautifully.
