How to clearly read a Braille book from the BAARD app and Focus 14 Blue display?

Sharon Hooley

I have a Focus 14 Blue Braille dissplay. I don't know which generation, but it's probably old compared with my iPhone XR and IOS 13. I'm trying to read a Baard book in Braille, but I'm confused by a couple of things. It seems difficult or time-consuming to find where I want to read, and there are a lot of something like possibly, more, possibly, more, as I use certain buttons to scroll down. there are symbols and numbers in and around words. Is there a way to get around on a page, and is it possible to get rid of all those numbers and symbols?

Thanks for any input I can get,

Others mayhave other suggestions, but one way, which would require two keystrokes may be the following:

I don't use the laptop layout, but I think this would work in either layout because you are bypassing NVDA altogether.

Issue the command NVDA function key 2.  That is the bypass command.  The next key you press is sent directly to the computer, bypassing NVDA.  So NVDA, function key 2 followed by page up or page down on the numpad should generate the commands you want.

I am using a keyboard which has the full numpad but not a separate six
pack. It does have additional Home and end buttons. I use the laptop
layout so how can I get a keystroke for the page up or page down
functions? I have tried using the keyboard help to locate keys for these
but so far, no luck.

I'm trying to get the NoSleepHD program to work on my Windows 10 computer, but when I click on the, .EXE, file nothing happens!  I've tried running it as administrator, had my wife click on it with the mouse, but no joy!  It shows up on the Taskbar like I told it to, it's turned on in Settings / Apps / Start, and it's set to start with the computer but, I can't get the damn thing open to select any external drives.  Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?  Thanks mooy moocho.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.  Go Rams!

Hi,

Does anyone know if the Braille-me display will work with TTY or TDD calls on an iPhone, or will I need to get a more expensive device?

Re: Looking for list of basic Google Chrome commands

George McCoy

Here's a link to a google chrome support shortcut keys page

https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/157179?hl=en

To turn off autofill, press alt plus e to enter the google chrome menus.  Up arrow three times to settings and press enter.

You'll land in the search settings edit box.  If your screen reader automatically goes into browse mode or the equivalent, exit that.

Navigate by headings until you get to the autofill heading.

there are three links, passwords, payment methods and addresses and more.

Click each link and set them the way you want.  There's a back button at the top of these dialogs that takes you back to the main settings page and the list of autofill settings link.

Re: Looking for list of basic Google Chrome commands

google the phrase google chrome keyboard shortcuts.  If you're using the google search engine, the first result is usually a list from google of all the current keyboard shortcuts.

Autofill is toggled somewhere in settings.  I'll try to hunt it down this evening.  I'll let you know if I find it.
