Chromebooks have their own screen reader. It’s called chromevox. To launch it, hold the control and the alt key, then press the letter z. You can run chromevox from the initial set-up screen. The set up of the chromebook with chromevox is accessible.

converting .html files from my stream to .txt files

Anyone know how to convert the .html files my VR stream saves wikkapedia nd wictionary look-ups  as on the stream.  I move them to the external SD card, but my computer takes forever to open the files.  would be nice to just review them as .txt files.
 
Would like something to be able to batch convert the files as well, instead of simply opening a file, copy and pasting the info onto a wordpad or notepad document and then saving it.

I doubt it very much.  Chrome books come with its own screenreader, vox.

Yes, you can.  However, I haven’t seen XP in so long that I can’t remember how to get to the command prompt.  I seem to remember that it is located under accessories.  Maybe go to the start menu, go to all programs, and I think accessories was near the bottom of the list.  Once you get to the command prompt though, you can type chkdsk /f /r e: or whatever your card’s drive letter is, and chkdsk will try to find and repair bad/corrupt sectors on the card.  It seems to be worth a shot anyhow.

I am no expert but a 1.7 G HZ seems very slow.Most processors now are in the upper 2 or 3 GHZ. I have 12 year old laptop that has a 1.7 GHZ processor.

If you can at all afford it, I would recommend making that 2 x 8 gb ram, especially if you plan on keeping the machine for years to come.
