part of problem solved, was microphone help needed on the out of sight chat site

Hi all,

Okay part of my microphone problem was user error, I was hitting ctrl-f4 in the sound check room instead of ctrl-4. When I hit ctrl-4and tested the microphone I did hear my own voice, but I also got some other unwanted feedback that got less as I turned the microphone gain lower but it was still there although in the background even with the mike gain at less than 10%. Anybody know how to fix this? Btw I'm running windows 10.

When I go onto out of sight I immediately go into preferences to the sound system tab and make sure the correct microphone is chosen, I choose the only USB microphone in the list, but when I okay the changes and then go into the sound check room, when I hit my control key to open the mike I hear the key up sound but after I say something and let go I never hear my voice coming back to me. How might I go about trouble-shooting this problem?

Try holding down the, Insert key, and tapping the, Z key, twice quickly until Jaws reports that the virtual cursor will be turned on for all applications.

Fanus, Amazon has their own delivery service now, their tracking
system isn't like UPS, it will let you know that your package is out
for delivery, where it was last or that it has been delivered.

The user manual should be on the Victor Reader
Turn the reader on,
Press and hold the #1 key on the keypad, it should say:
"enter user guide"
Press and hold the #1 key to leave the user guide, it should say:
"exit user guide".

Confusion Over Chrome Based Edge Browser

Hi Group,

I downloaded betas of the Chrome based Edge Browser over the past few months.  I also see a reference on Desktop and in the start applications menu to Edge DEV or Edge Beta.  I brought this about myself because of being adventurous enough to try the new Edge.

How do I know which one is the Chrome Based Browser and which one is the older one?

I found the dec talk express cable, it's a new cable with the 9 pin  adapter. I bought it new but never got to use it. Oh yeah, and it's a longer cable. It wasn't long after I purchased this cable that my dec talk express  needed major repairs, so I purchased a double talk. If you need it I think I still have the  electrical adapter. As for the dec talk express when Dan Werich told me that a new dec talk battery would cost me $115 for just the battery, and the ac jack was shorting out. His best guess was that the repairs were going to run about $200 or more. I believe I through it out, I'm not sure. If I do come across it you're welcome to it. I'm ready to ship you the cable. I'm not going to charge you anything, I'm just glad I could help. Just let me know where to ship too, and if you want to send your address off list my email address is

Years ago when I use to have the tech talk external  I purchased a cable for it that's much longer than the one that comes with it. I have to go through my mass of cables, since I think I have it. If I find it I'll let you know, and sell it to you for $10. This cable is new. if you have any questions just ask.

As I recall, it was a proprietary cable; the rj45 type end was not standard, it has a sort of offset to it.

One of my buddies is sending me a Dectalk external to have some fun with, but it has no cables.  I seem to remember that the cable that connects it to the serial port on the PC has a 9 pin female on one end, and a phone jack kind of RJ45 looking plug for the Dectalk.  I know that the Dectalk end was smaller than the RJ45, but bigger than a phone jack.  I’m trying to find a cable to hook up the Dectalk.  What is the name of the end that fits the Dectalk?  RJ11 or RJ12 maybe?  Thanks.

I'm not sure if you can do it from the Amazon shopping app but I know from the your receipt emails or whatever you can get to your it's usually ups at does the shipping for me you can get the tracking history and you know when it's out for delivery you can sign up for kind of updates would further detail if need be which I never usually do cuz out for delivery from the nearest UPS thing to me usually means it gets there you know middle to end of the day but you can see you know when it leaves the depo shot like that

Are you sure this is the order number and not the tracking number?  Check again.  Once you locate the tracking number for your order, enter it into the Google search field, and you should get the tracking history page for the carrier that Amazon used to ship your order in the search results. If not, call their customer service at 866-216-1072, and give them your order number, and they should be able to give you the tracking number, carrier and expected delivery date.

Thank you all for comments.  I'm doing just as you say.  I use Thunderbird. and i just put chrome on there.  I use firefox, rarely I e.

But I never purchase anything using the computer; i have done so with my Echo; or my sis does it for me using my info.

I hope it will be all right. I just purchased a 500 gig solid state drive; and a 4 tb drive for the inside of the computer.

My current 1 terabyte drive is dated  November of 2011.

Why, this dear old machine is older than I thought.

By the way, I just did get in touch with computers for the blind, and the laptop price was 185 dollars.

They cannot guarantee their batteries. of course, they're used machines.   They come with win 10 and that demo of Jaws.  Window Eyes also has one of those demos, or used to.  I'm so stubborn that I cannot learn Jaws and love my dear old win eyes, which my sighted techie calls

Windows Eyes.

I think it's the saame size as the RJ-45 but the spring clip is off to one side tather than in the center.
