Re: Trying to revive an Asus 2 in 1 laptop

It could be so many things no one can tell
you. People can speculate, but who knows what happened over several years
of lack of use. Laptop adapters seldom have problems. A part may
have gone bad, the CMOS battery, if they are still used or were at the time, may
have gone dead. Can you see enough to know if there is writing on the
screen?
It could be things I don't have the technical
knowledge to think about.

Subject: [TechTalk] Trying to revive an Asus 2 in 1
laptop I'm trying to bring an Asus Transporter Book Model T200TA-C2, running Win 8, back to life. I've had it on the adapter overnight and I'm getting a flashing amber light, nothing else. My efforts at searching the Asus community forums have been fruitless. Perhaps someone can give me an idea of whether the problem is 1. Bad AC adapter, 2. Bad battery, or 3. A little of both. This unit isn't critical, I just wanted to use it as a media center of sorts to attach to my home stereo system, to replace my refurbished HP Win 7 which has served me so well for so long. BTW, the Asus was working fine when I shelved it several years ago. But, this is its second AC adapter, go figure. Thanks all, Norma

Gmail Folders
Joe Orozco
Hi,
Does anyone know how to move emails in the Gmail inbox into specific labels? I’ve created labels, but I’ve only succeeded at applying labels to targeted emails. In doing so, the messages still appear in the inbox, but I want to utilize the labels as folders. I have found visual instructions on how to achieve this, but I’m getting stumped on using the labels as folders. Thanks in advance for any help! Joe

Shift F10 alternatively will also open your context menu.

Re: Question: Using Echo Devices To Make Phone Calls
You have to go into your Alexa app and link your phone number with your account. You also have to allow her access to your contacts. Then you were able to tell her call whoever’s mobile or landline.

Re: outlook in office 365 not displaying in full screen
Gene
First, try minimizing everything with Windows key
m. Issue the command more than once if necessary to move to the
desktop. then alt tab back to the message window and see if it is now the
right size. Don't release alt until you are in the message window.
You want to keep everything else minimized.
If you have many windows opened and they aren't
minimized, more than one window may be displaying on screen and you may be
sharing screen space among programs.
I can present one or two more probable solutions in
later messages if this suggestion doesn't work.

Question: Using Echo Devices To Make Phone Calls
Ron Canazzi
Hi Group,
I don't really need this feature but a friend of mine has it and for some reason, I can't get mine to work. What my friend does is to simply say: 'Alexa, call Ron Canazzi.' The device then calls my home phone number. When I try doing this, Alexa says: 'Bob Blake has not yet signed up for Alexa calling. Ask Alexa to show contacts.' I ask Alexa to show my contacts and I see all of them and when I double click on them, nothing happens. What do I need to do to fully activate this feature? Thanks for any help. -- They Ask Me If I'm Happy; I say Yes. They ask: "How Happy are You?" I Say: "I'm as happy as a stow away chimpanzee on a banana boat!"

You need to use computer braille. If writing a document, you need to switch to computer braille and then switch back to regular literary braille. Let me send you the commands tonight. Hi Mike,
These are not files. These are hard copies on paper. When they are scanned, they can be sent through email. I would then read them with a braille display and store them in files and folders that I would create myself. Thank you. Jan

Definitely something going on with your Internet service or possibly your router is going out. Typically most riders only last about eight years.

If you have a Dropbox account, you can give these steps a try, they worked for me. Moving a PDF from Voice Dream Reader on an iPhone to the computer: These instructions were written using the latest builds of Voice Dream Reader, Dropbox and IOS on an iPhone SE. 1. Open Voice Dream Reader. 2. Locate the file you want to move, and perform a single finger double-tap. 3. In the resulting screen, perform asingle finger double tab on the document button. 4. In the resulting screen, single-finger swipe to the right until you come to, "export all text", and perform a single-finger double-tap. 5. In the resulting screen, single-finger swipe to the right until you hear, " save to Dropbox", and perform a single-finger double-tap. 6. Single-finger swipe to the right until you come to the save button, and single-finger double-tap, or swipe further to choose a location, and then return to the save button. You should get some feedback on the upload process. When the upload is complete, you should b returned to Voice Dream Reader. HTH, Rick
