Thank you for sharing this.  I was actually trying the general transcriptionist free lance jobs on the different websites but will no longer be doing that.  I have changed my mind on all of this and moving on.  Thank you again for your help.

one after another on one line, not on separate lines.

She said this requirement kills your daily line count.

Their program counts carriage returns, each one is 7.5 cents.

A couple of firms she worked for only granted USS Thanksgiving and Christmas
Day as paid holidays.

Some supervisors will phone you if you stop typing for more than 1-minute to
ask why no typing.

My friend found the firms guarantee hospitals 24-hour delivery of finished
dictation, to achieve this, they worked the transcriptionists to death with
mandatory overtime and work on weekends. If they do not deliver the finished
dictation within 24-hours, the firm pays the hospital a non-performance fee
of $25 per delayed document.

She said most firms operate as an electronic sweatshop. all MT firms have
great comprehensive, dental, health, hearing, visual and pharma care at good
prices.

The talking ccradio is a sangean product. It's almost exactly like the hdradio I bought that was a sangean product; it looks just like it, anyway. I saw it, but didn't get much useful information from the person I know who bought it, because she doesn't listen to over-the-air radio. She just uses it to hook her iphone up to. Pam.

Sorry, I don't know of any Fix for your Radio's, but I always lose all
settings when I unplug the Cord, and remove the Batteries, and leave
it for an hour or so.


All settings in memory are erased.


It is odd that both radios are suffering the same problem, and that it
is All the memory Buttons and not just one or two.


One of my Radio's had a problem with the On and Off Switch. I bought
some of that tuner Cleaner, and sprayed all around that Switch, and it
started working again.


If it were me, I would call the Crane Company and talk to a live
person, and see if they can give you an answer, or pass you to someone who could.


Hope you get those Radios fixed.

Hello Gene, I have a hibernate option in my shutdown options, so I think to save on power, I'll use that and shutdown.  I've also set it to hibernate after a certain amount of time not being used, so I can turn off power and back on again.  Thank you for your help.

You shouldn't have to deal with the problem often.  You should be able to leave the computer running for a while without starting to get performance problems.  How long may depend on how you use the computer and perhaps on things I don't know about.  But you can experiment or just try a good amount of time such as four days or five days.  You may shorten or lenghthen the time, depending on results.  You don't even have to bother turning off the power.  When you reboot, do it at a time of day when you are doing something else like eating or going to bed or something else.  If you reboot the computer often, such as daily, that is unnecessary.

 

Or, if you really want to reboot daily, or shut down daily, you may do so, leave the power on and not bother turning the power off, and boot again when the delay won't matter because you will be doing something else.

 

And let's say you want to reboot when you intend to use the computer, such as when installing a program.  Shut down, turn the power off, as you found solves the problem, then boot after turning it on again. 

 

In short, you could try to solve the problem but doing so at this point my be disruptive and waste enough time that you may just want to leave things as they are.  It can be easily and conveniently worked around.

I have a solid state drive that's 5 years old this year.  I use another hard drive for my data.  I don't think it's that, because if I remember to turn off the power at the plug and turn it back on, it seems to work fine.  I tried the suggestions on the websites you sent Gene, and my drivers are up to date and fast boot is disabled.

Yes there is. You should reset the speaker to default. You said it was the alexa enabled sonos 1? First, unplug the speaker. Next, hold the round button on the back in. This is the same button you use to set it up. Keep it held in and plug the speaker in. Wait about 30 secondds, then release the button.

This will reset the speaker to factory default.

I'm not sure if you can help with this but thought I would ask anyway.  I'm not even sure if this can be done.  A friend of mine sent me a message on Facebook and I don't have messenger.  I get my messages from the computer.  She sent me a photo and I wanted to post it to my wall.  Is there any way I can do this?  I tried hitting control C for copy and Control V for paste and it doesn't work.  If any of you have been successful at this, simple directions would be ideal.  If it can't be done, please let me know.

CCrane radio decisions

Hi all,
I was looking at the CCrane website, and I stuck between two radios.
The CC pocket, and the EP pro, whitch are both within my price range. I’m just not sure whitch one to get.
The pocket would be grate if I’m out and about, but the EP has really good sound, plus it’s still analog, and I don’t much care for the new radios with digital tuning…
Has anyone had any experience with these particular models of radios?

Actually, according to Sonos, there is a way to re-set them to factory settings. It is pretty simple to do and I was able to do it myself. the speaker is already sold.

Ah glad I hadn't made the whole thing up and strange that it works on some machines and not on others.  I find that with JFW while it reports saying back it yields nothing while NVDA just does nothing at all.

It is an odd thing; and I did peruse the context menu and it yielded no back button at least not for me anyway and backspace did nothing either..

Some browsers will have the “back” command on the applications menu. Not sure if this is true for Chrome, I don’t recall, but it might be worth a look if you haven’t already explored the possibility. Shift F10 or just hit the applications key on your keyboard to get to the menu. HTH Norma

Yes sir that's usually my practice but on the rare occasions when I've forgotten a few times or when a site like zedge.net just won't for the shift enter and insists on opening in the same tab or so it seems when viewing an uploaded ringtone i did note that it wasn't working and just wondered if it was just me losing my mind or if it was broken or actually had never been a thing in that browser.  I thank you for replying. Some days I wonder about the old brain over here 😁

Some browsers will have the “back” command on the applications menu. Not sure if this is true for Chrome, I don’t recall, but it might be worth a look if you haven’t already explored the possibility. Shift F10 or just hit the applications key on your keyboard to get to the menu. HTH Norma

Hi,

Yes sir that's usually my practice but on the rare occasions when I've forgotten a few times or when a site like zedge.net just won't for the shift enter and insists on opening in the same tab or so it seems when viewing an uploaded ringtone i did note that it wasn't working and just wondered if it was just me losing my mind or if it was broken or actually had never been a thing in that browser.  I thank you for replying. Some days I wonder about the old brain over here 😁

To follow a link, use shift enter, not enter.  That will open the link in a new window.  Once you are finished and want to go back, close the window with alt f4.  You will be back in the other window, where you left off on the other page.

I could have sworn this might have been covered before but for the life of me I can't recall where or what the fix might be. I am finding that alt left arrow no longer works to take you back a page when browsing in Google Chrome.  Is there another means by which to accomplish this or is there a way to make this keystroke function again? Did it used to work in Chrome or did I just think it did.

Thanks in advance for rescuing me from my apparently feeble mind.

Background Colors

Hi All,
 
How does a person pick their background and font colors?  My wife says my background is black, but in personalization default blue is selected.  Also my font size, according to Jaws, is 9 and I would like to increase this a little bit.  Running Win10 Pro 1909.18363.628 with Jaws2020 & NVDA.  All help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks much.
