Hi Group,

I would need a reel to reel machine if I wanted any reel to reel tapes. I have hundred that were made personally by me from about 1966 to 1975. They are sitting in my basement and I haven't been able to play them since my last reel to reel machine bit the dust in the late 1970's. They simply don't make new reel to reel machines for anything less than about 2 grand now of days.

but with the word subscribe in the subject line. To unsubscribe, use
unsubscribe.

I just ordered a book from NBP (National Braille Press), and when I
get it, I think it'll help all of us with this ribbon stuff. When I read about the ribbons, I'll definitely post what I learn. Once again, thanks to Gene, George, David, Carolyn, and all who have replied to this thread! Nance -- Nancy Shackelford --Walk On Faith And Trust In Love - Michael Reid--

Re: Two outlook problems!
Gene
I just tried opening the ribbons and making shure I
was on the home ribbon with alt h. This is using Word Starter 10. If
I left arrow once, I get to a menu button. If I down arrow, I'm not in
that menu. I'm in something that looks like that menu, without as many
items, but it isn't the actual menu. But if I use alt h, then left arrow
once and press space bar on the menu button, I am in the actual menu.
I'm not sure just how the Word interface works, you
can be in the menu and tab, and no longer be in the menu. Maybe you are in
backstage view, I'm not sure. But the program does follow the rule that if
you use alt f, you will be in the menu provided in ribbon programs and that if
you press the menu button, as described above, you will be in the menu.
You never tab to move through a menu. If you want to use whatever Word
makes available if you tab, then of course, you may, but you won't be in the
menu.
I don't know how many people are confused by the
Word interface in this respect. In general, if you tab in a menu, nothing
will happen. In more recent versions of Word, if you tab, you will be
taken out of the menu. I didn't know this until today since I don't tab in
menus. But now I'll be on the lookout for this as a possible source of
confusion when someone presents a problem where it may apply. Gene

Gregg, with this process, I don't think you need to use open with. If you hit enter, it should open in IE.

In that way, I can save all my bookshare things in essentially the same way; I like one file per book; and daisies, as you know, are folders, which is not near as satisfying for me. Thanks so very much. It is XML and I will not forget it anymore. Thanks. Penny

Re: Two outlook problems!

That's alright. I didn't think you were just
being argumentative.
I'm not sure why you see what you see, evidently in
your version of Word, things aren't organized in that way. But what I'm
telling you now, regardless of how things are organized, should work in any
ribbon program.
Left arrowing moves you from ribbon to ribbon and a
few other things going from right to left. Right arrow moves you through
those same things moving from left to right. Don't down arrow when you get
to the ribbon you want to work with and then use the left and right arrow keys
to move through that ribbon. You may not see everything. When on a
ribbon, tab through it and you will see everything in that ribbon but you will
have to open some things to see everything in them, such as a dialog or a menu
dropping down from the ribbon when you open them.
Of course, you can use alt plus letter to
immediately move to a specific ribbon such as alt h for home. If you do
that, again, tab through the ribbon, don't down arrow and move with the left and
right arrow keys.
I won't go into everything here, to avoid giving different
ways to do the same thing. But try the following to get to the
menu:
Method one:
Press alt then f. You should be in the menu.
Up or down arrow and you should get to options.
Method two:
Press alt, then either left or right arrow through
everything. You should move from ribbon to ribbon and you should get to a
menu button. Press the space bar on the menu button. You should be
in and moving through the same menu as you got to with method one.
If what I describe doesn't work it will require more
discussion. others might know why, perhaps because back stage view is
on. But I think it will work regardless.

Hello,

One of the files in the daisy folder has an extension of .xml. This is the one you want. If you use the applications key on the file you should be able to select open with. In the open with menu you should be able to open it with internet explorer. Once you have you should then be able to save it in a regular text format. Greg Wocher
