Hello,

I have such a small Need for Microsoft Word, that I don't have it installed on any of my Systems. Instead I use Jarte, and for my needs, it works great. It is Small, Quick, Simple, and works well with either of my Screen Readers.

However, there are times when I need to send a file to someone using a Microsoft Format, either MS Word 2013 or newer.

For the price of $36 down to $24 for Office Pro 2016, this deal is hard to resist.

Guess my question is this, How Accessible is Office 2016?

I use the Spell Checker, and need to change Fonts and Font Sizes. Need to do Underlining and some Outlining.

I also need to read large Documents of more than 100 pages.

I assume that Jaws 2019, and the latest NVDA Screen Readers will read enough in Word 2016 to do those items I listed above.

But, I thought I would ask here first, since these days, very little should be Assumed.

Oh, and if it matters, I am running everything on a Win 10 Pro System, with an I7 Chip and loads of Memory.

Isn't there a Newer version of MS Word? 2018, 19 or 20?

But, for $36 to $24, This deal is a temptation.

I would Love to hear from users of Office 2016 and hear how well it works with Screen Readers.

Thanks for any reply,

Grumpy Dave

I'm running the paid program so it sounds like there's nothing I can do. Oh well I'm used to it now, I was just wondering if there was a way to get rid of it.

Hi all,

Whenever windows 10 comes up after I either reboot or when I initially
boot-up in the morning I have a window on my taskbar that says malware
bytes tray application. Is there a way to get rid of that? I've had the
paid version of malware bytes for a long time but this has only started
happening with the later versions.

Thanks.

The price was actually $36.09, but after using the coupon code of

The price came out to be $23.46 per copy. Just make sure that you use that coupon code above and take your time figuring out the site.

3. Distributors purchase reseller's licences in bulk, and thus at a

they are still making a profit, without having done any of the

I've never liked the distributed sale side of things, especially for

There could be something that I'm missing that would be totally obvious

That's why I very rarely use Amazon, EBay, and your high street shops.
The obvious exceptions, of course, are supermarkets, and a situation

Hello,

I have such a small Need for Microsoft Word, that I don't have it
installed on any of my Systems. Instead I use Jarte, and for my needs,
it works great. It is Small, Quick, Simple, and works well with either
of my Screen Readers.

However, there are times when I need to send a file to someone using a
Microsoft Format, either MS Word 2013 or newer.

For the price of $36 down to $24 for Office Pro 2016, this deal is hard
to resist.

Guess my question is this, How Accessible is Office 2016?

I use the Spell Checker, and need to change Fonts and Font Sizes. Need
to do Underlining and some Outlining.

I also need to read large Documents of more than 100 pages.

I assume that Jaws 2019, and the latest NVDA Screen Readers will read
enough in Word 2016 to do those items I listed above.

But, I thought I would ask here first, since these days, very little
should be Assumed.

Oh, and if it matters, I am running everything on a Win 10 Pro System,
with an I7 Chip and loads of Memory.

Isn't there a Newer version of MS Word? 2018, 19 or 20?

But, for $36 to $24, This deal is a temptation.

I would Love to hear from users of Office 2016 and hear how well it
works with Screen Readers.

Thanks for any reply,

Grumpy Dave

System volume information is used by system restore. You may have to tell
Windows not to monitor that drive to keep that file from being placed on the
drive. If no one tells you how, I can look up information but someone may
tell you.
If you want to find out how much room it is taking up, open the properties
for the drive and compare the amount of free space with the amount of used
space when nothing else is on the drive. System Volume information can't be
looked at for size using drive properties.
It may be, as Richard says, that you are going through work to free up space
that isn't enough to matter.

Every drive has system volume information, usually hidden,
for identification by the operating system.
The size of that folder is usually not enough to worry about.

Absolutely correct. I have a half dozen that I purchased from someone
on one of these lists. And windows always leaves the folder I
mentioned. So, I'd like to make a clean cartrage before I stick boox on it.

Well, I guess formatting the cartrage is a quick way to get rid of all
the stuff on it. And there are certain folders that windows won't
delete; "System Volume Information" for example. I don't know what
that's even for anyway. Just something to waste space.

Hi all,
I'm trying to format an NLS cartrage on my Win10 computer. It offers
four different types of format. I'm wondering which one I should choose?
Thanks.

No I have not been able to make the braille me work with jaws yet. I have written to www.atguys.com from who I bought my braille me and suggested it. And I also suggested it on the braille me email list. I am just waiting for a firmware update that will allow the braille me to work with jaws and also provide some other needed fixes. Other than that and the occasional dot not popping up requiring a light shake or a light tap, I really really love the braille me display that I own. I also like my two orbit reader displays.

Hi Holly,

From my understanding, according to MWB tech support, MWB stays running in the background if you press, Insert + F10, press enter on the MWB message here and then Alt + F4.  It supposedly only will stop MWB from showing the system tray but doesn't stop the program from running in the background.  I don't have this latest MWB installed, so I can't say this is true for version 4 like it was in version 3 latest.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.

Heather:

I am running Windows 10 and JAWS 2020.

You can not  use this system with the paid version, as it is always running in the background and that is what you want it to do, so it can detect threats in real time.

It does work for the free version though because you scan manually.

Subject: [TechTalk] MS Office 2016

Grumpy Dave

Re: MS Office 2016

Smiling?

It so far anyway, works exceptionally well in fact, better than Office2010 did. Using JAWS2020.

Re: NLS cartrage

FAT32, but if this is truly a NLS cartridge flash drive, you will not at all need to format it simply due to the fact that it's smaller than anything larger than 32GB which will be already formatted as FAT32.

If you are wanting to format this drive just to wipe it clean then as already mentioned, FAT32.
