Yes and pod bean is 1 of the links i have trouble with. But what the common thing is they are all i heart andthey all have the words megaphone fm in the feed. If you have the same problem i wonder if i heart radio has its own feeds and wont let pod bean use these links anymore.

Also the RSS feeds I have trouble with start with the word megaphone. I don't know if the word megaphone is in your feeds that you're having trouble with, but I just wish we could come up with something to either be able to find or edit some of these RSS feeds so we can get all our podcast the way we used to. seems like apple and iTunes are the biggest favorite, but I really find the other kind, the RSS or XML feeds to be a lot easier.

Thanks Laz and Olusegun for your thoughts. HIMS would fix it, but they charge quite a bit, and they make noise like most products that come in for repair need a new main board. The person who lent it to me just told me to do what I want with it, so I am going to take it to a local electronics repair shop where the older gentleman who runs it is a wizard with a soldering iron. I have nothing to lose, and Lester the shop proprietor gets to make a buck during these rough times, and crack open something he has probably never seen before. It just needs the charging port resoldered.

Sorry but i believe it does run some sort of Android version. I was not very impressed with the one I owned for about 3 months. It basically just sat on my desk not being used until I sold it and the accessories for about half what the retail price was and which is what it was really worth. The OCR aspect of it did work fine from my test when I first got it though.

asking for suggestions on asus netbooks

Jim Ruby

Hi

I have a couple of netbooks asus eee pc 1000ha and 1005he. They came
with windows xp with an upgrade to windows 7 starter. I never did the
upgrade to windows 7 starter and I no longer have the disk to
re-install. I'd like to make use of these but am not sure if I can get
a version of xp to re-install. Does anyone have any suggestions? The
hd on both netbooks no longer have any recover partition. I had vinux
on one, but that is no longer being maintained.

So my options at this point would be:

1 find and install xp, upgrade it to windows 7 starter and then
upgrade to windows 10.

2. find some sort of flavor of linux distro that talks and has good
accessability.

Does anyone have any ideas on either path? at this point I'm leaning
tward option1 because all the distros of linux I've found either are
dead, not being maintained or just don't work. btw: I'd like an iso of
linux with speach installer. I've not had much luck.

I did try an install of windows 7 starter, but xp serial number won't
work cause don't they change when you move to the upgrade to windows 7
starter?

Thanks for any help, suggestions and resources.

Whether it is or not, as I recall from discussions I’ve seen on lists like this one, the new versions of Esset (spelling) aren’t accessible.  You may want to try to get a refund.

Or you can check if you can still use an old accessible version.  I think you can.  Whatever you received about updating, you can probably use an older version. I believe many people are using older versions.

I usually get two e-mails, one notifying me that my purchase was approved and another with a key and or password. If you aren't certain, I would call support and ask them.

I'm debating as to whether or not to renew mine this month because it doesn't work that well with JAWS.

Hi Group,

I have some mp3 files on my PC that I would like to transfer to my iPhone. When I connect my iPhone to a USB port on my PC, I see the device and when double clicking on it, I see a folder named Internal Storage. When I first tried to access this folder, the iPhone asks me if I want to allow photos and pictures to be transferred. I clicked allow. That is the only option the iPhone gives me.

Is there any way to directly transfer the mp3 files to the iPhone? Thanks for any help.

Hi Adrien.  I had the same exact problem last year, and my boot time got a lot better when I turned off “fast startup.”  I know that it kind of sounds contradictory because you would think that fast startup would be a good thing, but it seems that, with it enabled, your computer never shuts down all the way.  I know that many out there are smarter than I am and will have better ideas, but this one really helped me.  Anyhow, if you want to try it, here’s how I was told to do it, and it helped.

  1. Do Windows key with X.
  2. Arrow down to Power Options and hit enter.
  3. Tab over to additional power settings and hit enter.
  4. Tab once to choose what the power buttons do and hit enter.
  5. Now, you land on a link called “Change settings that are currently unavailable” and hit enter.
  6. Tab over to turn on fast startup (recommended), and make sure that it is unchecked with your spacebar.  You want this item to be unchecked.
  7. Tab over to “save changes” and hit spacebar.
  8. Now, you can alt-F4 out of settings.  Shut down your computer the proper way and restart.

I hope this helps.

Hi

When I start my pc up, when I turn it on, the log-on speech is very slow to load, I have to keep pressing tab before I can get it to speak, it should put focus straight on the password box, I get the windows start up sound, it says windows starting, then the speech itself takes for ever to load. I asked microsoft disability support, they said it was because I have too many programs loading on start up, but I have disabled loads of programs under msconfig and task manager, any ideas please? It is a windows 10 pro laptop.

Hi gene

Yes I have no issues at all if I use sleep or hibinate, the log-on screen comes up almost immediately. To me it appears like it is a driver issue, it seemed to start a while back when I up-graded to windows 10 but it has gradually got worse over time. I have had to take my other pc to be reformatted as windows 10 has become very sluggish and the pc is unusable. Thanks for your help.

That’s why I have a low regard for technical support.  They love to give answers bhy formula, whether the answers match your problem or not, and whether the answers make logical sense or not.  I don’t know how long you have to wait, but with a modern computer, you would have to be loading an enormous amount of programs to have a long delay, as you appear to be describing.  Also, if this is a new problem, why suddenly, would loding of whatever you have been loding be a problem.  It wouldn’t, unless you have dramatically increased what is loaded.

And their answer is completely beside the point.  They should know that the programs they are discussing don’t load on the login screen.  They load after you log in.  So they told you to do something that is a complete waste of time.

I don’t know what the problem is and I don’t know if you will ever know.  Keep these alternatives in mind to almost eliminate the problem by working around it.

I don’t know what Windows 10 calls these things, but instead of shutting down regularly, use hibernate or sleep.  You should do a reboot of your computer off and on because if you don’t, performance problems will develop.  I can’t tell you how often.  You can experiment and see.  You may be able to go for many days before performance problems develop.  You may be able to go for five days or a week.  You may have to reboot sooner.  Rebooting a computer or completely shutting it off daily is completely unnecessary and accomplishes nothing.
