I hear what you say but I am sure there was an item in Sonos on my iPhone 7 which said something like “music on this iPhone”. I do not know what is the use of the sonos app if I can only stream radio stations and music from my pc. Maybe I am just stupid but the sonos support people make it so difficult to ask for support that it is not worth while all the trouble. A shame for a company with such excellent but expensive products.

Hi,

I don't think you can. You can use airplay to play that which is on your phone through Sonos but I don't think you can get music resident on your phone to show up within the Sonos app. If I'm incorrect I'm sure others will chime in but this is the only way I've known it to be. o you're correct you can add the library you might have on a pc or networked drive as long as it's powered on it can be accessed but I do not believe the same holds true for the phone.

Take good care.

Hi Shelly,

The way to copy text from a text field is to make sure you are located within the text field and then use the rotor to choose edit and then use single finger up/down swipe to highlight items within the edit menu and then double single finger tap to perform the action.  One of the items is copy.  Other items are cut (use this if you make a mistake in a text field) select (depending upon what movement mode is selected: character, word, line--you can use the movement gestures once select is chosen to select text within the text field and then use the edit menu again to perform an action such as cut, copy and so on. And select all is a menu item within the edit menu which you can use to copy the entire field or cut the entire field to clipboard.  And finally there's the paste item within the edit menu which you can use to paste into another text field--perhaps within notes, or an e-mail message.

Everybody should get familiar with the rotor and the edit menu.  I got acquainted with it right after I got my iPhone and it has made messages I sent from my iPhone much cleaner and error free.  Even when using dictation for long messages, I go back into the test field and edit any mistakes.  Works quite well once you get used to it.

What Ever Happened to Games For The Blind

Hi Group,

I ran across an old folder under saved executable programs called 8pack.  Within this folder was a group of games from http://GamesForTheBlind.com.

The games won't run on my Windows 10 system.  I keep getting a 'these games won't run on your system' error."  It references the above website. When I visited that site, I see it is up for sale.

So what happened to Games For The Blind?  Is anyone able to run these games on Windows 10?

Thanks for any help.

Smiling?

I would not recommend something that was not accessible or if it was
inaccessible, I would definitely write about that being the case if it were
actually true and yes it will successfully create a bootable image, but that
is going to do nothing for you regarding your BIOS and boot order as was
already mentioned.

45 or $50 somewhere around there.

One other question came up just this morning. I make a lot of conference calls. During one such meeting this morning, I found out that a friend of a friend can't make such a call on her cell phone without pay 1 cent per minute. Has anyone noticed this issue with AT&T?

I doubt this would be a game-changer. Normally, I can't make these calls with Vforizon because I only have 700 minutes per month. Since I don't have a land line and don't see the need for one, I have a yearly plan with Skype that allows me to make these calls. So, even if I can't make these calls with AT&T, I'd still be paying almost half of what I'm paying Verizon now with unlimited talking to boot.

As far as I know from what I can remember, the primer 250 minutes only comes with talk and text from what I looked at the other day. And that comes without data and I just got done looking, and they won 15 bucks a month for 250 minutes it's a whole separate deal. So you could have 500 MB and then unlimited minutes. Or you could have 250 minutes.but I'm gonna go look to make sure.

I believe 50 qualifies you for AARP membership. You get a card, and it would have a number on it, which you would give to Consumer Cellular.

Thank you, Carolyn, for the tip about AARP. I'm only 58. So, I don't think I'd qualify. Give me a couple of years. Meanwhile, I'm still looking forward to purchasing this phone.

That would be correct because of the taxes and surcharges.

Possibly I missed something earlier in this thread.
However, I called Consumer Cellular earlier today and asked
about the plan with 250 talk minutes and 500 megs of data
and was told that this plan was $20 per month. So either
things have changed or the salesman with whom I spoke wanted
a bigger commission. I sure wish I could get to the bottom
of this.

Hi Ann,

If Joseph meant mega bytes, he said 5 MB, that's not
very much data for one month. If you streamed one song,
that would be it.

Hi all,

No, you mean MB for Megabytes, not millibars.
Millibars are gradations of air pressure. It's the same
abbreviation so it's comfusing, but you mean megabytes.

Hi Ron, no typo here. 500 mbar is a plan from the
phone carrier that I have.

HI Monte,

Joseph's reference was to cell phone provider
features. I would have expected the information to be
something like: Unlimited talk and text plus 1 GB data per
month.

He referenced this MbAR instead. That doesn't make
sense--unless either there's some way of measuring data that
I'm not aware of or it was a typo.

Now, landlubbers may not be as familiar with this as

Hello, you don't even need one gig of data in order

getting the I am from a company called consumer Sellier if
it all possible in your area. They have a plan just for five
bucks a month that will give you 5 mbar and unlimited text

if anybody decides to do this offer, please contact me as I
will give you an additional $10 off of your first month just
by giving you a referral. If you've never been with this
company before.

I'm also considering purchasing the Blind Shell
Classic phone.
Mystic Access now offers a free tutorial that can
be downloaded from their site at http://www.mysticaccess.com
. You'll need to search for the product, and you'll find the
link to download the tutorial on the product page. They also
did a free class in February on the subject, and you'll find
a recording of that on the free downloads page.

Mystic Access is now distributing the phone.
What's more, for an extra $19 set-up fee, they'll activate
the phone with a network that uses the A T and T tower. This
network only charges $20 a month for unlimited talking and
texting and 1 gig of data. The down side is that you have to
install the battery and sim card, which is something I've
never done with a cell phone, and I'm not particularly
mechanically inclined. Otherwise, it's a good deal.

I think you can get cheaper plans with AT&T and Verizon, but
you get reduced Internet.

When I had AT&T, I did not notice this at all. So I wonder
if this is something this is recently just changed.
