Hi Carrie,
What exactly are you trying to do under the Mail app? I would be happy to assist you.

Please disregard this email.  I know it's the same one I sent earlier.  My computer screwed up for some reason and it sent twice.  I apologize.

Hi Shelly,

I am not sure if you can get the jokes by text message.  Visit the website and see what they say.  I know there is a way to send and receive text message via phone to computer and via computer to phone.  It's a bit convoluted.

You have to find the domain name of the carrier that you use and then you can probably put that into the e-mail edit field on the joke-a-day website. I have done this in  the past.  for example, my spectrum phone domain is the same as Verizon.  I don't quite know why this is, but it works that way. There are Internet sources to find the carrier domain.  They actually don't list Spectrum mobile, but I read somewhere that Spectrum is using Verizon facilities, so I tried the
Verizon domain which is vtext.com.  So my e-mail address for my iPhone message would be as follows: <ten digit number including area code>@vtext.com.  I have done this both ways to send my phone text messages and to send e-mail to my PC.

Good luck.

Subject: Re: [TechTalk] Guidance for starting a blog

I started my blog on Wordpress years ago. At the time, I needed sighted assistance, but now, I understand the set-up process is more accessible. So, you might try going to wordpress.com and do some exploring.

If that doesn't work, you could go to http://www.mysticaccess.com. If they don't already have a free tutorial on setting up a Wordpress blog, they might be able to customize one for you or work with you one on one. Their training is worth the money. Good luck.

Winamp taking forever to open in Windows 10

Steven Johnson <saxmonger@...>

When I hit enter on an mp3 file, Winamp, which is set as my default mp3 player, takes 5 minutes or more to open.  I don’t have this trouble with any other application.  Anyone else ever had this difficulty?  I hate to reinstall it, but I may have to try that.  Thanks for your thoughts.

Backing up my books and bookmarks from Voice Dream Reader

Jamie

Hello, all,
I have the latest version of Voice Dream Reader, an Iphone seven and the latest update for that as well.
My question is, how do I back up my books and bookmarks from Voice Dream Reader from my phone to my computer.
Thank you so much for any help.

Debating about the best windows tablets and deals

Beth

Hi, guys.
I’m not much for Windows, gaming is out of the question. But my partner and I are struggling to find a 4 GB of ram windows tablet thing, but I’ve narrowed the choice to Lenovo or HP, not Dell. Trust me, the Dell 11 venue Pro that my partner had broke and never came back to life. lol
Asus tech support doesn’t strike me as very helpful if that thing breaks, and I did have a broken Asus thing, a laptop. I’ve got lots of tech so I can possibly help with modern tech support, but still, I use it a lot for me. I want to make sure I function on practically anything.
Anyway, please send me links to any recommendations you guys have for good windows tablets. Also, do you get lots of malware on those? Sound off, and stay healthy and safe.

New behavior with MS Edge chrom

Loy <loyrg2845@...>

I have the new MS Edge as default, when I click on a link in an email Edge comes up and  and says  I need to set up Edge, I have a choose of inspirational, informational or focused then it goes to set up passwords. Then it opens to Microsoft's page, and not the page I clicked to open.
Is this normal or is there something going on here I don't understand. This just started for the last few days.

aluminum diagramming foil for tactile graphics and perkins braillers

Josh Kennedy

hi
Can the aluminum diagramming foil for tactile graphics, the kind that comes in the APH tactile graphics kits... Can it be used in a perkins brailler? How heavy of paper can a perkins brailler take without breaking or jamming it? Also can the electric perkins brailler, the one costing around $1030 from maxiaids or perkins products braille on the same kind of paper or do braillers have to be specially adjusted to braille on heavier paper? Last, how much louder is the electric perkins brailler versus the standard manual perkins brailler? Is it as loud as the index braille embosser or romeo braille printer I have the privilege to play with for a few weeks. Well I did and I decided a computer driven industrial embosser that can print magazines and hundreds of pages per hour is not for me. So I'll be giving it back soon once the coronaVirus stuff is over with. I just want a brailler that is better than my manual brailler that I can afford and that will let me type much faster without the keys jamming like as what happens if you try brailling too fast with manual braillers, its just how the manual ones are designed thats all just like manual typewriter keys can jam if you try writing too fast. I am used to writing with note takers and computers and want the same experience from a perkins brailler and it seems the electric brailler will give me the computer-like typing experience i want. and i see from the parts list the electric perkins brailler uses solenoids to do the brailling just like a braille printer for computers uses solenoids.

That sounds possible.

Hi Carolyn, I was wondering if the Fed has changed of AT&T
making extra money off of us just because were calling
pacific phone numbers that lead into conference lines.
Because of the fact of what Abby had said. About the friend
of a friend who was being charged one cent per minute.

When I had AT&T, I did not notice this at all. So I wonder
if this is
something this is recently just changed.

Thank you, Carolyn, for the tip about AARP. I'm only 58.
So, I don't think I'd qualify. Give me a couple of years.
Meanwhile, I'm still looking forward to purchasing this
phone.

One other question came up just this morning. I make a
lot
of conference calls. During one such meeting this morning,
I found out
that a friend of a friend can't make such a call on her
cell phone
without pay 1 cent per minute. Has anyone noticed this
issue with
AT&T?

I doubt this would be a game-changer. Normally, I can't
make these calls with Vforizon because I only have 700
minutes per
month. Since I don't have a land line and don't see the
need for one,
I have a yearly plan with Skype that allows me to make
these calls.
So, even if I can't make these calls with AT&T, I'd still
be paying
almost half of what I'm paying Verizon now with unlimited
talking to
boot.
