Re: USPS informed delivery?

I can read the images on my iPhone. I have to open the email and double click not once but twice on the image. It will then bring up a screen and I have to swipe down to where it says share and click on that. It then brings up another screen and I swipe way down towards the bottom after it says more and click on recognize with Seeing AI. It will then read that image for me. I then have to close that window then click done on the first window and repeat the steps for each scanned image mail piece. I am using voice over on an iPhone 7 with the latest version of iOS. I hope this helps.

I think I just signed up for USPS informed delivery, will I get a confirmation e-mail if I was successful? I say I think I did because I had to try 3 different user names before I found one that seemed to work.

Also, I have a package due to arrive next Tuesday but it was mailed yesterday, since I've just signed up for the service will I be notified about this package or just any future packages?

Thanks.

Re: Second PC--Wi-Fi question

Melissa Hambleton <nightfury19@...>

Seems the most easiest and sensible thing to do is for my boyfriend to use
Wi-Fi on the second PC in the home.

I have another question then.

Some time ago (Verizon's internet service that we have) things seemed to go
slower than it should and we called the tech support and they helped us by
putting our online service on another channel? That is what they called it
so forgive me if this is wrong. It sort of seemed alright after that and we
had the highest speed at the time with Verizon. What I'm concerned about
with the Wi-Fi is that if my son is playing online on his game consul, I
can't stream anything on my PC and my boyfriend can't stream anything on the
Smart TV we have because things start to lag.

What can I do or ask Verizon to look into so that all three of us can be
online at the same time doing our own things without things breaking up or
lagging?

Thanks,
Melissa

Hi all,

Streaming content comes from the web. If you have a video as an attachment, for example, if you stream it you don't download it to your computer.

Hi all,

My mom asked me yesterday what is meant by streaming, and I kind of know what it is but I was wondering if someone could explain it in words that a nontech person would understand? All I could think to tell her is to give her an example that if somebody sends her a video like on facebook when she watches that video that's a type of streaming, and I also told her that there are services that stream television channels, the example I used was Apple Tv. She knows that we wouldn't be able to stream channels on the regular televisions we have now. Can somebody tell me an easier way to explain it though, and even give me examples of sources for streaming television channels besides Apple tv? I'd like to know this info myself.

Thanks.

Hello Fanus:

Here's a PC Mag article on Smart Home Automation that I think explains
things better than I can:

https://www.pcmag.com/news/what-is-a-smart-home-hub-and-do-you-need-one

As for a Smart Tv, it needs internet access via your WI-FI setup to work.
Regardless of the OS in play, there's an app that must be installed on your
preferred smart toy in order to set it up and control its operations.

I have a throw away FB account I use for experiments like this.  The information I read seemed to indicate that when a second email address is added, the primary designator for the first email addre3ss can be unchecked.  Give that a shot and get back to me.  When I get home from work this evening, I'll take a look at it with my experimental page and see what I can find out.

Okay, I think I have gotten pretty far in changing my facebook log in address, but I am stuck, yet again, in the process.

Here is what I have done so far and what I am hearing from jaws on the screens as they progress through the process.

Settings & Privacy link

settings/account/?settings_tracking=mbasic_footer_link%3Asettings_2_0&refid=31 link

email is listed and there is a link below it taht says edit.

I clicked on edit and the new window has my original email and next to it it says primary

below that line it says privacy and it says friends and below that it says edit (which I am assuming I can change to allow people who are not active friends to look me up using that email address in the search bar on facebook.

below that is the second email address which I want to make as my log in address and next to that is says confirmed, as you explained via the emails I got after I had added the email address to my facebook account.

the only option under that is remove for the secondary email which I want to make my log in email address.

not sure what else I am supposed to do. like I said, the help file said to do something with the 3 dots but there is no option to make the new email address my primary log in address for my facebook account.

Keith,

The item you want is account settings.  To the sighted it appears as either 3 dots or 3 verticle lines.  Click to expand the menu.

Arrow down to settings and press enter to open it.

move by heading to the general settings heading.

Expand the contacts menu.

Down arrow until you come to emails.

Your current email is shown.

Keep arrowing down to the add email button.

Add the email you want to use as your new user ID.

You will receive two emails.  One will go to your current primary account telling you that a new email was added.

The other goes to the new email address asking you to confirm it.

Press the confirm button.

Reopen Facebook and navigate back to the emails dialog.

You will see both the old and new emails listed.  There will be a checkbox labeled primary or something similar.  Check it for the new email and you should be all set.

Hth,

George

Here is a link to download the portable version of Virtual Recorder I discussed in my last message.
Unzip it, open the volder and run virtual recorder.exe.  Just typing v once will take you to the exe file.

if something doesn't work properly, let me know.  I'll check if that is the latest version.  I have more than one and I may have to upload another if this has some sort of problem, perhaps regarding using the both setting in the source combo box.  The latest version may solve the problem.
