Oh, I hate when they don't tell you what they did. It's like they're afraid that then, you will be able to do it yourself and won't call back. Not fair! Unless the guy's english was so bad he didn't know how to tell you. But that's still not fair. Pam.

This has happened to my partner after every major Windows update. She
has a Dell Lattitude and is using JAWS. Dell had her disable the Real
Tech audio drivers so the computer would use the computer speakers.
This does fix the issue but like I said, every major update
re-installs the Real Tech drivers again and this process starts all
over again. Hope this helps.

Microsoft Teams accessibility question, please

Greg Daniel <gdaniel@...>

Hi everyone,

While I have had a fair amount of experience using Zoom, I am a total newbie when it comes to Microsoft Teams. I am using Windows 10 with JAWS 2019, and am wondering if Teams is accessible and, if so, are instructions for using Teams available for newbies like me.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi Mike,

Well I tried your instructions in BARD using IE 11, but it just moves too fast. It goes straight to the main page.

When Chrome asks if you want to save a password when you first visit a web site, you should be able to get to the save button by pressing the, F6 key.  I haven’t done it for a while, so can’t remember if it takes more than one press of that key to get there.  When you do, press enter on that
save button.  I haven’t changed a password, so have not been asked about updating, but would assume the process is the same.

Hi William.  I have an HP Elitebook 8570P, and if your laptop is anything like mine, on the bottom near the rear of the unit where the battery is located, you will find 2 releases that feel like switches that are spring loaded.  One of them releases the battery, and the other releases the cover.  With the unit on a table with the rear facing you, I believe that the left latch releases the battery, just release it and tilt the battery toward you.  The right latch releases the cover, just kind of push down gently and slide it away from you.  My HD was held in with four spring-loaded screws.  It is very easy to replace.

Re: recording computer Audio

Here is the download link for Virtual Recorder portable. It is very important that free Send Space users read the information after the link. It isn't safe to download from Send Space unless you know this information.
https://www.sendspace.com/file/cp2nf8

When you are a free Send Space user, you get advertising when you download. This advertising is hacked at times and the hacked advertising may try to download malware to your machine. To avoid this, stop advertisements from Send Space in the following way:
When you are on the download button, don't activate it. Open the context menu and use whatever your browser calls saving a file from the context menu. It may be save target as, it may be save link as, or ;perhaps something else. If you save in this way, no advertisements will be shown. The reason this works is that the button, though it appears as a button, is actually a link.

You can probably use the virtual recorder program. I'll send a link later
to the portable version the late Carlos made far more accessible. Use the
what you hear option for recording.

Since so many sound cards don't support what you hear any more, unless yours
does, this would be the easiest way to record.

If you have problems using the program, ask here. You tab around to see
most settings. I don't use it much and I don't recall if there are any
menus, but either their aren't, or most of what you do is gotten to by
tabbing.

now the question. the challenge is that i can't seem to record
anything that read with this extension. On contacting the developer,
he told me he hasn't incorporated this facility because of copywrite
issues.

Is there anyway i can record the audio manually on my PC?

Thank you,

Yes, I realized that after posting. Just me, having a senior moment, which are becoming more and more frequent these days.

Hi Chris,

No Humanware Companiln required.
I just use the standard windows keystrokes to select drives, folders, and files.
Then I use the f2 key to rename the selected file.

I believe you need to use the humanware companion to do that.

Hi all,

Does anybody know how to give titles to notes I record on my Victor reader stream? I think I read that this can be done but I'm not sure how.

Thanks.

In the case of BARD, I am using IE 11. But on most sites I am using Chrome. I would love to know how to do it in either one.

This is your browser asking you if you want to save this info.  What browser are you using?

I am using JAWS 20 with Windows 10. I updated my email with BARD and had to then update my password. When I go to the initial log-in page, I have to type in my new information, and then it asks me if I want to have it stored for further use. Then in what seems to be about a fourth of a second, it moves on to the main page. Does anyone know how I can accept their offer to store the new email address and password?

Thanks for any help,

TerriLynne

Re: having sound issues

thank you for this I’ve been having the same sort of issues, but only when I have been using a certain program while running jaws. At one point, it messed up my wired headphones—I’ve had to reboot to make it stop and start over. Melissa

re-installs the Real Tech drivers again and this process starts all
over again. Hope this helps.
