I'm now going to test Youtube itself. At this point, we don't know if the problem is with Pontes Media Downloader or if it is a general problem with Youtube. Never assume if there is more than one possible cause for a problem. I realized that I assumed with no support since there is no guarantee Youtube is always up and it is guaranteed to go down at some point

As implied in mhy last answer, getting a pair of speakers where the wires
can be detatched and replaced may solve your problem, or I would think a set
of bluetooth speakers would or some sort of USB speakers might. I'm not
sure if you lose sound quality to any extent using Bluetooth speakers. If
you listen to music, you may want to discuss that.

I cant get another cable because the cable that has a short is connected
permanently to the right speaker. I did get another cable, the one that
connected to the pc audio jack.My main issues is to find a pare of speakers
that has a long cord between them. I need about six feet to go across my
work area. All the USB speakers, have short cords. I am looking for another
2.0 or 2.1 satellite speaker system! I just will not use the brand of

Why not just get another cable? You would save a lot of money. If the speakers stay in one place, that would be by far the cheapest way to solve the problem if it is the cable.

Well, I am thinking after all my testing that one of my speakers has a short in it! So has anyone heard of a set of speakers that does not rely on a cable to connect the other speaker. That one has to rely on a connecting cable to pare both speakers? I refuse to buy a set of speakers where one always has a connecting wire to it, rather just have one that allows one to connect both speakers manually! My speaker with the wire is the one with the short. I had to reconnect the speakers to the pc with a different audio cable to figure out it was not the audio sound card. I am not very technical about what you would call a set of speakers connected by a cable instead of one speaker having a wire that connect to the other speaker. I want to avoid this issue if the one with the wire has the short again! I only had these speakers for 5 years, my others lasted 10 years and I actually gave them to someone when I moved! bluetooth and USB speakers

So, I have decided to try blutooth speakers instead of the 3.5 kind! I had a poor experience in the past with the gem2  2 set of speakers, the lag was real bad when one used jaws or NVDA! So wondering if all Bluetooth speakers will have that lag? Also, do you lose the connection or do they stay connected? My old set would lose connection after so much time, it was real annoying! I am thinking of powered Bluetooth speakers  not ones that rely on a battery!

I have a good pare of USB speakers however, I cant use them with my desktop as the cord that goes between the two speakers is to short by a mile! So I have them connected to my fire stick. I am glad I purcheased them when they were on sale for 39 as now they cost 240 woe! In my search, that seems to be a common complaint with USB speakers, their cord is not long enough unless you are using a laptop set up! Thanks, Heather

I've used headphones for quite a while and I don't recall if my speakers had wires permanently connected. If so, and if that is what is generally done, I consider it bad design. I think speakers should be able to be connected to wires, you would plug into the computer so that if they become damaged, they can be easily replaced.

My DuraCell charger is so compact that it emits no hum or other noise, and doesn't even have a power cord.  It has a retractible plug and a compartment that holds one or two pairs of AA or AAA batteries and nothing else.  I think it has an LED charge indicator, and that's it.  If you want to be sure that your rechargeable batteries last a long time, buy Panasonic Eneloop batteries, which have consistently received top ratings.  I have four Eneloop AAA batteries which I use in my Sony AM/FM Walkman, which provide many hours of service on a single charge, and have been going strong for more than five years. I have two pairs of DuraCell rechargeable batteries which I use for my Philips Sonicare Power Up electric toothbrush, and they last over a month before they need to be recharged.  I hate those expensive electric toothbrushes that require separate charging stands that take up counter space and only last two or three years before they die and have to be replaced.

But what if one of my batteries has gone bad and the charger is flashing to indicate that a battery is not charging and I needed them to record a meeting?  I have just charged my batteries for 6 hours in vain, and do not have functioning batteries for my recorder.  If someone definitely knows of a charger that indicates when charging is complete with an audible notification, that information would be welcome.  Thanks everyone.

It is not necessary to spend a lot of money on an audible battery charger,if such a device even exists in the first place.   I have a simple and inexpensive DuraCell AA and AAA battery charger which has no audible feedback.  So i simply plug it in for six hours with a pair of batteries to ensure that they get fully recharged. I know that the charger is working because the batteries become warm to the touch while they are recharging. Six hours is the recommended charging time for NiMH batteries, which should last about 500 recharging cycles, so they should last a long time before they go bad .
