Re: how to show notifications in system tray in win10

Mike B

Hi Margaret,

See if this helps:
1. Windows key + I, for Settings, then tab 1 time to, System.
2. Navigate / right arrow to, Personalization, press enter, then tab 1 time to get into the list of categories.
3. Down arrow to, Taskbar, press enter.
4. Tab several times to,Select which icons appear on the Taskbar link, press enter.
5. Tab through these icons, & press the spacebar to toggle or turn off / On.  If an item is checked it's, On, if it's unchecked it's, Off.  As you check / uncheck items here, you can press, Insert + F11, to open the System Tray to see if the results are taking effect.

6. Press, Alt + F4, to close, there's not an Okay button to tab to.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.

Hi, All:

I think I'm confused about the system tray in Windows 10 Pro.  I'm not
finding JAWS listed and it should be there and there are other items  I
might like to remove from it.

I thought I found posts from list members that would allow me to add
what I wanted and remove some excess.

Re: hard drive enclosures

Danny Park

Go on Amazon and look for an enclosure for a SATA drive that supports USB for probably 10 or $20.  When you get the enclosure open it up and plug in the data and power connections to the drive then close the enclosure and hook up the USB and power cables to the enclosure the plug the USB cable into your computer and you should be ready to go.  Just go to file manager and you should find the drive listed there.

Good question. You've hit on all three places I'd look, so it might be a service that needs restarting. Simplest thing to do is restart Windows and see if you can re-launch the game application.

Mike,

I tried alt-tabbing but not windows key-tabbing.

I've rebooted since then but I'll try the windows key-tab if it happens again, it does happen occasionally.

Eloquence for android

Fanus

Hello list
I purchased Eloquence a few years ago. Now I donated that phone to an old
lady just because the volume can be set to very loud so that she can hear. I
now discovered that eloquence is no longer on google play, so is there
somewhere else where I can download it to install on a new phone, seeing
that I did pay for it?

Re: Recovering Permanently Deleted Files

Gene

Placing a new file on the drive doesn't necessarily mean the old file has been overwritten. But since it may overwrite it, you shouldn't add anything to a drive if you have deleted a file and want to try to recover it.

Is System Restore active on your computer? I don't know what Windows 10 does, but Windows 7 has a feature called Shadow Copy turned on when System Restore is on. I won't go into it more now, but if you have System Restore on, and if at least one restore point exists from a time when the file was on the drive, you may be able to get it back using Shadow Copy, or as Windows 7 calls it in file properties, previous versions.

You need to know what happend when you delete a file. When you do that, you allow new files to replace that file. In conclusion, you can recover that file only if you didn't paste other file in the drive before you deleted it. You can use a program called Recuva. Important! When you find the file which you want to recover, specify another location, not the drive which contained that file. For example, if you deleted the file from your USB, you need to specify a location of your pc if you want to recover the file succesfully.
