It started before I updated my windows. I actually, one, restarted after windows wanted to update, that did not fix the issue, was thinking the windows update was causing it. So next, I did a jaws repare, not sure how to repare NVDA, so was trying to get jaws to work. So jaws asked me to restart my pc after it finished. It did not fix the issue. Did a repare twice and had to restart the system again. I tried 3 programs for reading text; with the same results. Just now checked the blutooth box with the jaws settings, as suggested, did not fix my issue. It is like an out of the blue thing for this just to start; mondays. So the only thing I can think is to uninstall and reinstall the screen readers. I can honestly say I have never had this happen before. thanks Heather

As I recall, you said that you have the same problem with more than one screen-reader, JAWS and NVDA. that is very important. also, you didn't say in your last message when the Windows update occurred relative to when the problem started. Did it start immediately after the update or had it started before?
Did it start after you first booted up today and did you boot from a full shut down?

Are you talking about tool bars or other structures you can move to as you tab around the program window that are outside of the page? If so, and I'm still not sure what you are referring to, that sort of thing is standard today.

I'm not sure how or if you are moving out of the page after it loads. Use f6 if you are to return to the page. Once you are in the page, you won't leave it unless you tab or shift tab beyond the bottom or top of it. When you load a page, you should always be in the page.

I don't know if these comments will help because it isn't clear to me just what you are seeing but they may.

Without more information, I doubt that trying different browsers will help, as I said, having various tool bars and structures on screen in addition to the web page is standard these days.

computer speaker recommendations please

Hi all,

I seem to be getting a short in the computer speakers I'm using now and so I need to replace them, does anybody have recommendations on a set of reasonably priced speakers? Btw I rarely if ever listen to music on the computer so I don't need anything with a lot of base or anything, just something that sounds good with jaws. I would like what I get to be a pair of speakers, but they can be USB, bluetooth, or they can just plug in via the earphone jack.

Maybe this is a soundcard problem!  Try the following to see if it'll help.
 1. Press, Insert + 6, on the number row to open the Settings Center, now press, Control, Shift + D, to open the Settings Center default all applications.
 
2. Down arrow to, Users, and right arrow to open.
 
3, Down arrow several times to, Avoid speech cut off when using Bluetooth headphones or some soundcards, if this is unchecked press the spacebar to check
it, tab to, apply, press the spacebar, tab to, okay, and press enter to save / close.

I am trying to fix my screen readers when I try to read a file, with the read all command, it just stopps and it waits and than it starts again but, it is really choppy. It just started this afternoon, mainly with jaws2020. I did a jaws repare twice which restarted my system. I also had to  restart the system for a windows update. So I continue to have this issues with reading my files, no matter which program i am using word, notepad or wordpad.  Freedom is not answering their phone been on hold for 2.5 hours in the background. I do not trust their call back, has never worked for me. After reading your message, should I uninstall jaws and reinstall it again. Nothing else has worked. Thank you, Heather

It doesn't matter how fresh a copy of Windows is. Corruption can happen and is not necessarily a product of age. I'm not assuming corruption nor that a system restore will correct it, but this is just the kind of problem system restore is provided for, a problem with an unknown cause and no known solution unless, perhaps you are a tech or equivalent and perhaps may want to spend some real time and work solving it. If you do a restore, I hope it works. I suspect you had your computer shut down fully and brought it up from that state when the problem started. To me, that suggests some sort of corruption either in shut down or boot up. if problems continue, it would suggest a hardware problem that needs to be corrected.

Hello, I have had issues all day with my screenreaders not wanting to read without a stopping in mid sentence , when I do continuous reading. I did a jaws repare and I tried to fix NVDA. What is the deal, why did the screen reader just start doing this today.  I am running 1909, it has not updated to the latest 10. I am reading a regular txt file. Any ideas please. Thanks Heather
