Re: BBC podcast, Keeping Data Forever

Walter Ramage

Hi. I sent the file to four lists but only one person said they had trouble . Now I know what their problem is I've now re-uploaded it to Open Drive and included a streaming link as well as a download link.

I have a paid account with Send Space and with I.E. I have no problem downloading and in fact it is faster than using the Wizard unless you have a large amount to download and want to leave it unattended.

However with Chrome and despite having a Send Space paid account I get the verification screen and this is the case with Jaws and NVDA.

There are a lot of file sharing services around now but I don't share much stuff lately, not as much as I used to and at the moment if somebody has an issue with Send Space then Open Drive often sorts out the problem. Walter

I only kept one copy of your message and the discussion may have occurred on
another list. One person said he couldn't find a download link. that could
be. I don't use Send Space much but at times, I am asked to solve a captcha
and I can use the site without challenge for awhile. But I use it so seldom
that I don't know how long that time is.

I would suggest using something like we transfer. I'll find the link if you
are interested. It doesn't hagve the danger of hacked advertising that has
been present on Send Space over the years. If you are using it for free,
you might get hacked advertising and have malware downloaded onto your
computer unless you use the context menu and use save as or save link as,
whatever your browser calls it to download without advertising. And We
Transfer doesn't lower download speed if yu use it for free.

Hi. The speech on demand feature of jaws differs from the disable speech
command in NVDA. Speech on demand doesn't truly disable speech. I don't use
a braille display but it should be noted that if you implement say all mode
with insert down arrow, jaws will still speak even if you set jaws to speech
on demand.

Could you have accidentally changed your speech & sound scheme?  Press, Insert, Alt + S, to open the sound & schemes list and try changing to Classic to see if that helps.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.  Go dodgers!

I have tried changing some things in verbosity and speech settings, but it
keeps saying it.  Help, please!

Insert f4, then enter closes JAWS. the command I gave in an earlier message leaves it running and stops speech.

I haven't used JAWS for a long time but there is a feature called text analyzer. It may be on. While I doubt it is the cause of the problem, you can check if it is on in the following way:

The command to turn Text Analyzer on is JAWS key space, that is hold the JAWS key and type space. Then type the letter a. To turn it off, use the same command again.

Hi there! I use TW blue. It works excellent as the portable version. You can install TW blue on your computer, but the portable version works much better. It has two options. You can have the window with the menu bar, or you can use it hidden using all key commands. I have Windows 10 2004, and it still works excellent in every way. David Moore

I don’t have any of these issues and I never restart tw-blue unless my pc is restarting.

Anyway, I think it will  receive an update sometime soon due to these recent changes in twitter  api.

Well minus some issues it works fairly well. If you don't restart it

after a while, it will start opening links in IE, instead of your

default browser. Also, it will fail to update buffers after a few hours.
