Re: Does Pontes Media downloader still work
Gene
In case what I wrote is unclear, the link that Pontes uses gets there because the user copies the link to the clipboard from the browser. Pontes automatically places the link from the address bar into its edit field.

There may be implications for other situations. Usually, the link that appears in Pontes comes from the clipboard because the user copied it there from the browser's address bar. If that is what you did and the link was defective, that means that it may be that the very common practice of people sending people links to articles by copying links from the address bar and pasting them into a message may not work with Edge. If they don't, that is important to know and is a serious flaw. Gene

Re: best MVNO plans?
Brian Vogel <britechguy@...>
Enes,
My first question is: Must this be on an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), e.g., Metro, Virgin Mobile, Boost, etc.? My second, and it's related to the first, is are you 55 years old or more? T-Mobile has an incredible plan for those age 55 and over and since they don't require a contract . . . -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 2004, Build 19041 Always remember that computers are just glorified light bulbs - they rarely fail in continuous use and usually go pop when turned off and on. ~ Technician with the username Computer Bloke, on Technibble.com

best MVNO plans?
enes sarıbaş
Hi all,
So I am currently using Metro By Tmobile's 30 dollars per month cheapest plan, which only encludes 2 gb of data, and doesn't support features like call waiting, conference calls etc. However, my research indicates that I could probably save more and get more perks and data on other MVNOs. Does anyone have recommendations for this? Mint mobile sounds apealing with its 3gb plan. For clerification, I do all data intensive activities off celular and on wi fi. All I need celular for is video calls, since my DSL is far too slow to support those, as well as voice calls and checking e-mail, and sending and receiving voice and text messages.

Howdy Fred,
See if this thread will help you any. These notes are older, but hope they help a little anyways.
Note: The Emersive Reader doesn't work in the Stable version, only the Developer versions.
2. Tab once, if the Immersive Reader is available, you will hear, “Enter Immersive Reader”
3. Press spacebar or enter to activate the button, the web page is reformatted and you can now read it without almost all of the clutter you normally find.
If you want to exit immersive reader just repeat the above steps, it will say “Exit Immersive Reader” when you get to the button. It’s a very simply 2-step

The f9 key does not work any more.
It certainly does on all the recent dev versions, so if there was a stable or beta version where it accidentally got knocked out it will be coming back.
I agree that it's always worth knowing you can throw focus to the address bar with ALT+D, then tab once to the Immersive Reader button, if it's present

Re: accessible disk imaging software.
Gerald Levy
Are there any podcasts
that demonstrate how to create this magical talking PE disk,
plus a demonstration of how to use it to restore a backup image
from an external hard drive without sighted help of any kind?
The owner/moderator of the defunct JAWS Users email list, David
Ferrin, who has apparently vanished into the ether, created a
podcast on his Help page that demonstrated how to use Image for
Windows with a series of CD's to restore a backup image, but
this was years ago before he shut down the list and help site,
and Image for Windows is apparently a much different program
now.

Re: accessible disk imaging software.

You are unfortunately wrong, it’s completely accessible. It’s you the user, who needs to know how to access these accessibilities with speech by using Windows PE with speech along with a portable version of Image for Windows as was already mentioned.

Here's the bottom line. There is no inmaging program that is completely accessible. Macrium Reflect is accessible only for creating the backup image on an external hard drive. But sighted assistance is needed to restore this image because there is no speech available during the restoration procedure. This is true of all imaging programs; the backup procedure may be accessible, but sighted help is almost certainly needed to restore the saved image.
