Alan,

As I do not use Edge on my smartphone (which also happens to be an Android powered device), nor use anything but my Microsoft Account with Microsoft products, I don't think I can be of any additional help here.  Let's hope that someone using an Apple ID across devices can advise, as I would have supposed once an Edge sync account (for lack of a better term) was established it should be able to be used on as many Edge instances, on as many devices of different types, as desired.

Brian,

I was alluding to signing into edge, which I am with my apple ID as my user profile . I says I’m signed in and sync is on. Also has a sign out button which in my initial email I stated I did, then signed again to make sure the credentials I was using were accurate. However, same credentials are not accepted on the edge app on my iPhone when trying to sign in to allow sync of settings.

Alan,

When you say "on my computer" are you talking about logging in to your computer, or logging in to Edge?  You have to establish a sync connection within Edge itself.  Even though most of us use the Microsoft Account linked information for the MS-Account-linked Windows 10 user account we're logged in with, it does not happen automatically.

On the computer, in Edge, hit ALT followed by left arrow, at which point you should be sitting on the Edge Profile button, and hit enter.  See what's shown as far as your being logged in to Edge.  If you are, you should have a Personal profile, the e-mail address associated with it, and a manage profile link.  Otherwise the "Browse as a guest" and add profile controls (and possibly others, I can't know, as I'm already logged in to Edge) will show.

Mike,

Most general purpose color laser printers do a fine job with photographs if all you're looking for is "good snapshot quality."  Photo printing like photographers do it requires special printers regardless of the technology of the printer, and special paper, too.  For most of us a laser printed image is just fine for day to day use.

Laser printers are more expensive up front, and toner cartridges are very expensive, but the per page cost is less, and a toner cartridge lasts "forever," relatively speaking, compared to an ink tank, even an extra capacity ink tank.

Also, comparisons of image printing between two inkjet printers, two laser printers, or a mix of the two technologies is not really possible except in the abstract.  It's something you really have to see to know exactly how well a given printer does.  You can get stats on dots per inch and the like, but that tells you next to nothing about what the final product actually will look like.  This is a case where sighted help, using a picture of your choosing for printing but that's consistent across all devices, will get you the most information about how the image quality seems including color rendering, sharpness, etc.

One thing to think about is how much you are going to use it.  If you do not use an inkjet very much you can have trouble with the nozzles clogging up and not printing properly.

sync Chromium Edge

Alan Robbins <arobbins1057@...>

Question,

I installed MS Edge on my computer and was able to sign in with my user name and password. I also installed it on my iPhone. When asked to sign in to sync across all devices, I used the same user name and password as I di on the PC and it says incorrect user name and/or password. I have rechecked on the PC by signing out and in  again with no problem. Suggestions as to what is happening here?

Thanks,

Alan

Hello, I suggest you call hp tec support line, they can help you with your search. I do not know any other places that have an actual accessibility line for their products it seems that hp and Samsung are the only ones. Here is hp line hp accessibility number:18776567058. I read online that hp is part of Samsung’s accessibility with printers, they actually tell you to call HP for accessible printer support. Cheers Heather

Re: best MVNO plans?

Hi,

Another  question I have is with replacing my outdated Iphone 6. I waited for the 5g capable 12 pro, which was supposed to have a much better processor. But that has turned out to be a mistake, with reports showing that the new a14 is marginally faster than the 13. When replacing my phone, I want to order directly through apple, and pay the phone directly. I need an unlocked phone, as I travel internationally, and need to be able to use local sim cards. Is purchasing from apple, as opposed to the carrier a good stratigy?

So they actually require a contract for those prices if I remember, so you pay a year in advance. Also, that 15 dollar plan is a 3gb plan.

I am honestly debating with myself whether to go MVNO/prepaid or postpaid regular plan. I am leaning more towards postpaid though, after some thought, especially since I would be able to benefit from employee discounts, that likely would shave off between 10-15 at least on the monthly bill. And I am not 55  or older.

T-Mobile has an incredible plan for those age 55 and over and since they don't require a contract . . .

Actually no, Image for Windows truly hasn’t changed much at all. It has updated several times, but really not changed. So that podcast that you speak of will give you a decent idea of what to do with even todays versions.

Using Windows10 PE with speech though, is different and no, I unfortunately do  not know of any podcasts available. Hopefully others do, and share the various links.

I do believe that Windows will burn .ISO images to disc though (granted you actually do have whichever type drive to burn the disc). Yes it will, and the link’s below.

Are there any podcasts that demonstrate how to create this magical talking PE disk, plus a demonstration of how to use it to restore a backup image from an external hard drive without sighted help of any kind? The owner/moderator of the defunct JAWS Users email list, David Ferrin, who has apparently vanished into the ether, created a podcast on his Help page that demonstrated how to use Image for Windows with a series of CD's to restore a backup image, but this was years ago before he shut down the list and help site, and Image for Windows is apparently a much different program now.

Here's the bottom line.  There is no inmaging program that is completely accessible.  Macrium Reflect is accessible only for creating the backup image on an external hard drive.  But sighted assistance is needed to restore this image because there is no speech available during the restoration procedure.  This is true of all imaging programs; the backup procedure may be accessible, but sighted help is almost certainly needed to restore the saved image.

Problem with Zoom on my iPhone

Sharon Hooley

Hi,

Lately on my iPhone XR with latest IOS 13 update, it seems that every time I try to use the meeting tab in Zoom after a previous session, it only says, in progress. I tried refreshing it before, but it didn't change this.' However, when I delete and download it again it works. Then after another session, it does the same and I need to redownload again. How do I fix this? I am not ready to update to IOS 14, because, as far as I know, there are serious bugs that make some precious apps unusable.

Thanks,

Steve,

Once you change the view for a specific folder, it should be permanent.  If it's "automagically" setting back, then something's wrong.  The first thing I'd do is using these instructions:

Then see if the problem stops.  If not, then move on to Doing a Windows 10 Repair Install or Feature Update Using the Windows 10 ISO file

Re: Wrestling with Windows 10 Files and Folders

Your assumptions are all correct. I change the sort order on certain folders sometimes, but the sort order is not what's vexing me. Rather, it's the group order, which, no matter how many times I set it to None, changes to Date every other once-in-a-while. I thought once I change it, it would stay changed. Not so.

On 9/27/2020 1:10 PM, Brian Vogel wrote:
My guess is that your latter supposition is correct.

My question is are you trying to have a "sorted by date, most recent to oldest (or vice versa), no grouping by time period" sort in every folder on your system, or only a select number.  I'd presume the latter, but one never knows.  It's easy to set a given view for every folder on the system.  If you're trying to go for some, but not all, then you have to handle the "some" individually, although all their subfolders can be done in one fell swoop if desired.
