I hit control 3 for my contact list, and there are only four or five people listed there, but I know I have more.  Where would they be located?

Re: microsoft edge changed languages

Brian Vogel <britechguy@...>

Look in the Edge Settings, Languages Pane, which is near the bottom of the list of settings panes.

Make sure the Preferred Languages section shows English first in the list.  If French is actually shown in the list, there is a control for each language individually that lets you move it up or down, or remove it entirely, from the Preferred Languages list.  There is a corresponding list for spell checking as well, so you might want to check that, too.

While Internet Explorer shouldn't be generally used except in possibly rare cases where it may work on a specific site better than other browsers, still, the main Facebook site has changed and is the subject of ire not just among blind people but among a lot of infuriated sighted users. Josh, MSIE does still work, it is indeed legacy software now, but that has nothing to do with the matter at hand. People have heard so many people advising them to switch browsers that instead of being helpful, you're just adding to the noise which they are probably ignoring at best and deleting while screaming explitives at worse. They will change to FF or Chrome when they make the decision to do so. Nagging at them will not help.

Is It Possible to Review and Edit an Input Field On a Fire TV Device?

David Goldfield <david.goldfield@...>

I have a question regarding entering text in an input field using a Fire TV device and the VoiceView screen reader. I am able to navigate the keyboard to actually enter text, such as in the search input field. However, once text has been entered I can't seem to find a way of navigating through the text in order to edit what was entered. I am aware of the review mode but I don't think that this mode allows for editing. And, yes, I am aware of the voice search capabilities and I acknowledge that searching by voice is far more efficient. However, this was something I was asked about by a third party regarding a project they are working on and so I wanted to do some research for this individual.

When entering text using an Apple TV does the OS allow for editing text which has been entered in native apps?

Many thanks.

Ron and All,

There's a much better and easier way of copying amounts of text from a
website or from documents. The steps are below my note.

Note, In your browsers quick settings if you choose the, From Virtual Cursor
option, this will copy the text without formatting.
If you choose the, Full Content Using Onscreen Highlight option, this
copies the text with formatting.

A More Flexible Way to Copy Web Content to the Clipboard is using a
temporary placemarker.

In addition to using standard selection commands to select and copy content
from a Web page into the clipboard JAWS has another method for selecting
text. However, the steps to do this must be followed just as below in order
for this feature to work. Here is how you must do it.

1. Move the virtual cursor to the beginning of the block of text you'd like
to copy. I usually do this at the beginning of the block of text but I
believe that you can start at the end of the block.

2. Press ctrl+Windows+K. This sets a temporary place marker at the location
of the virtual cursor.

3. Move the virtual cursor to the end of the block of text to be copied.

4. Press the layered keystroke insert+spacebar.

5. Press the letter M (for mark.)

6. Press ctrl+C to copy the block of text to the clipboard.

7. Now you can paste this wherever you want.

From: Marquette, Ed
In fact, the Windows key is employed with a number of fantastic JAWS
keystrokes. One which I have come to use on an hourly basis is control plus
windows plus k to mark a spot in a word document.
One may later jump back to that spot instantly with just windows plus k;
however, even more cool is the ability, in Word, to mark text from your
cursor to the marked spot, and it doesn't matter whether, in the document,
your cursor is ahead of the marked spot or behind it or whether it is 4
words or
40
pages away. You mark text back to the marked spot with JAWS key plus space
bar and then m.
Then, you can use control c to copy or control x to cut or windows c to
append.
Try it! You'll like it!

Hi Group:

Since we are on the topic of Facebook, I have a question and it's not about the site.  I sometimes use Facebook on my iPhone SE 2020 second generation.  I have never had a problem with the app before but when I wanted to check in somewhere, voice over wouldn't read the surrounding places to me.  All it would do is keep saying button whenever I would swipe to the right.  You could also type in your search and it would come up but I have never had this happen before.  Whenever I press check in, the places are listed where you are near and I could tap on one but this time, it doesn't do anything but say button.  Has anyone had this happen to them?  I wish they would leave things alone.  Thanks in advance.
