And, wow, you have an eight-digit access code? I have six, didn't know you could have eight.

Apple has made it very easy to transfer things from a previous phone if both phones are running iOS 11. If not you can still restore from a backup. First make sure you backup your previous phone. Second when you get your new phone and are ready to start just press the home button three times to start voice over once you have turned the phone on. You will have speech throughout the setup process. Just follow the steps. You will need your wifi password, apple id and password, ect... good luck and congrats on the new phone.

Hi Troy,

It's actually not too bad once you get the language selected. Here is some information from an expert to get you going. VoiceOver is available with any new iPhone. Press the home button three times or, if it's an iPhone X model without the home button, press the side button three times to turn on VoiceOver. Once VoiceOver is on, you simply follow the prompts to set up. The major question is whether you are setting up as a new device or restoring from a previous backup. This is where you either go through the steps to set the device up as brand new or you choose your latest iCloud backup to restore from. Ideally, you want to simply restore from a previous backup, which sets up the device exactly how your previous one was set up. It is all accessible via VoiceOver though.

I sometimes use Facebook on my iPhone SE 2020 second generation. I have never had a problem with the app before but when I wanted to check in somewhere, voice over wouldn't read the surrounding places to me. All it would do is keep saying button whenever I would swipe to the right. You could also type in your search and it would come up but I have never had this happen before. Whenever I press check in, the places are listed where you are near and I could tap on one but this time, it doesn't do anything but say button. Has anyone had this happen to them? I wish they would leave things alone. Thanks in advance. Shelly On 10/25/2020 3:52 PM, lynn white wrote: Anne, thanks for this. Now it's acting like mobile Facebook did before.

Re: another question about outlook
Brian Vogel <britechguy@...>
You need to check, when in Contacts, whether what's being viewed is Contacts versus Address Book or some other collection of contacts.
Once you've done your CTRL+3, and presuming the Folder Pane is open (which it is by default), navigate back over to it and see what has focus, and if there are other items than the one that's got focus, try selecting each in turn then going over and looking at the list of contacts contained in same. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 2004, Build 19041 Always remember that computers are just glorified light bulbs - they rarely fail in continuous use and usually go pop when turned off and on. ~ Technician with the username Computer Bloke, on Technibble.com

Re: microsoft edge changed languages
Brian Vogel <britechguy@...>
Look in the Edge Settings, Languages Pane, which is near the bottom of the list of settings panes.
Make sure the Preferred Languages section shows English first in the list. If French is actually shown in the list, there is a control for each language individually that lets you move it up or down, or remove it entirely, from the Preferred Languages list. There is a corresponding list for spell checking as well, so you might want to check that, too.

While Internet Explorer shouldn't be generally used except in possibly rare cases where it may work on a specific site better than other browsers, still, the main Facebook site has changed and is the subject of ire not just among blind people but among a lot of infuriated sighted users. We'll see if Facebook backs down at all.
