Re: cleaning old messages out of thunderbird

Aside from disk space on the machine, its an interesting qquestion about whether, when you delete a message on the machine, if that message is deleted from the actual Gmail site. I'm not sure and I'm not sure if you can set the e-mail program to do that. I haven't seen any discussion of that in this thread exce;pt for what I said and it would be interesting to find out.

I would rather have my old messages on the site because, at times, I want to go back and look at something I might have no idea I would have wantted to when I got the message.

Sometimes, I want to reply to something I delete after I delete it and it remains on the server and I can look at it in my IMAP account.

No, there is no option for emptying the Sent or Spam folders. The easiest way to accomplish this is to focus on the list of messages in each foler, perform a select all command (control-A) and then press the delete key to move them all in one fell swoop to the trash folder. Then when you empty the trash folder, all the sent and spam messages will also be deleted along with the rest of the trash.

Re: Kurzweil 1000, or something else?

Gene

How old is the version you are using? In my opinion, there hasn't been really revolutionary improvement in OCR accuracy for quite some time. That doesn't mean that you might not want to upgrade. there might be improvement enough in the kinds of material you expect to scan. But can you use the old version with whatever version of Windows you have? If so, why not see how it performs on material of the sort you expect to regularly scan. Then, you can determine if you are satisfied or not with what you have. if the version you have doesn't run in your version of Windows, then you will have to do something.

So i'm curious what people think, is it worth upgrading kurzweil to the

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I am assuming that there is a way to route the touch cursor to the virtual PC cursor in this discussion. I am assuming that you are first working with the Virtual PC Cursor. I dohn't use JAWS, and that's why I am making these assumptions. You don't have to tab and tab. Use your screen-reader's search to search for the item you want or for the first item you want if you don't know what the item you are looking for is, then find the one you want by down arrowing. That item, you will have to remember from your first look at what was an unfamiliar page. The find command is one of the most under and unused and most useful commands blind people have in web browsing. Any training material that doesn't teach its use thoroughly is deficient.

Hi,

Last week, I was trying to listen to samples from https://cymatics.fm/collections/store/products/gems-vol-10-rnb-melodies-collection#MainContent.

It was established that it worked via a few browsers using NVDA but since I use jaws it was not working.

However, I revisited the usage of the touch cursor, and it worked. However, the part I don’t like is the fact I have to tab it seems like forever until I pass a melody and underneath it will say group, group group, so pressing enter on one of those played a melody but outside of it working via the touch cursor, what a pain lol.

Is this Arro Mesh a wireless router? This computer needs a wireless router to connect, which I didn't know when I ordered the computer last year. But I guess all desktops need a separate router to plug into a USB port.

Hi all,
I'm wondering, is it possible for a totally blind person to put a picture in a
Facebook message? If so, how do I do it? I know that sighted people can do it,
but I'm wondering if it's something that I can independently do. I have a
picture that's an attachment as part of an email, and I'd like to be able to
include it in a message so that the person knows what I'm talking about. I'm
using Jaws 2018, the latest Edge, mbasic.facebook.com, Outlook 2013, and Windows

Hi there!

When I wish to delete old mail, I simply select all messages in a given folder and press delete.  When I wish to empty the trash, I press alt-F arrow up to empty trash and press enter.  I will occasionally compact the boxes using the alt-F and arrowing up to compact folders and pressing enter. This does keep my system running somewhat faster in thunderbird. Give this a try and see.  Good Luck! and Have A Great Day!

Hi Michael,

The easiest possible solution is that NVDA's mouse tracking has been disabled - if that is the case, press NVDA+m to reinstate it (easy to do if you go to open the NVDA menu and miss by one letter).

I was going to suggest maybe your mouse has been disabled - but then I realised if you are using the mouse and that was the issue, you would have noticed it wasn't moving :)  So back to the first option above is my best guess!

Kind regards

Its important that when you are a free Send Space user, you shouldn't
directly activate the download button. Doing so will show you advertising
and some of it may be hacked. The hacked advertising may try to place
malware on your machine.

Right click the button, its really a link that looks like a button, and use
save target as, save link as, or whatever your screen-reader calls that
feature. The file will download and you won't be shown advertising.

Re: File unlocker

Its important that when you are a free Send Space user, you shouldn't directly activate the download button. Doing so will show you advertising and some of it may be hacked. The hacked advertising may try to place malware on your machine.

Right click the button, its really a link that looks like a button, and use save target as, save link as, or whatever your screen-reader calls that feature. The file will download and you won't be shown advertising.

Apparently the list was set up to not allow attachments so I would
appreciate that download link.

Thanks and stay safe,

Laz

Hi. I have it and have attached it. Don't know if the list accepts
attachments but if not I'll upload to Sendspace. I've zipped the file as
some ISPs don't like folk attaching x files. If it doesn't show, let me
know and I'll upload it. Walter.

Hey everyone,

I used to have this small program which would unlock stubbormly locked
files but lost it in a drive crash. I googled it and although the site
is still there none of the download links seem to work. It was called
either unlocker or file unlocker. Does anyone have this file?

Stay safe,

Laz
