Re: the second eposod of blind android users podcast is now uploaded and ready for listening.

As at least two hosts of the BAU podcast are incredibly rude, Warren Carr and Austin Pinto, and don't reach out or respond to feedback, I am posting it publicly in hopes of shaming them into a response. Also, in hopes of letting list members know of the kind of hosts they listen to and support, when they choose to listen to this podcast. I tried subscribing to their "unmoderated" list after I was removed for no cause, and provided no reason for why I was removed. Yet my subscription to their list hasn't been approved. I also provided feedback on their last podcast, but never got a response. So maybe a public response will work, maybe not.

I am reaching out, once again, to find out why you claim that the BAU list is unmoderated, and yet you have not approved my subscription to the list. I would also like to know when the blindandroidusers.com website will be up, as it shows a landing page at the moment, so the intro to the podcast links to a site that isn't up. I am wondering if your team has any plans of improving audio quality. The quality of the podcast was distracting to listen to, with the wide variability in audio quality. Finally, I would like to know if you/your team have tried the GoodMaps app outdoors. For me, the intersection notifications don't work reliably. There are many features missing from Nearby Explorer, so I would have liked for the team to address those. For instance, I would have liked the team to ask about the GeoBeam feature, as this was really helpful in finding the door to a building.

If I still don't get a response after this public post, I will be removing all three hosts from any list that I own, including the NVDA community and the Blind Tech Guys podcast within five days.

Also, as to not clutter the list any further, please post your agreement or disagreement privately at nimerjaber1@.... I normally would not do this in a public manner, but I am tired of seeing this podcast's announcements knowing how they have treated at least two former members of their list.

Thanks.

Hi Janet, Lenovo, like most other companies make at least 2 levels of
laptops.
Business and personal.
In this case, the Thinkpad is the business class anad as such is the better
machine; and of course, you will pay for this.

Hello group,

We had a new gas furnace and air conditioning unit installed today. The
installer also hooked up my brand new VIP 3000. My husband let the
installers leave because he thought he could program it. Anyway, it's not
working.
When the batteries are first installed, the display shows an inaccurate
indoor temperature. Then a second later it shows E R for error. The display
changes back and forth with these two signals until the batteries are
removed.
Hitting reset does nothing. Removing and replacing batteries and installing
fresh batteries does not help.
Additionally, the LCD display is not sharp, like the unit is not receiving
sufficient power.
I will continue Googling for more info. But if anyone has suggestions in the
meantime, please shout out. If you'd like, write to amron728@gmail.com and
I'll give you my phone number. We are manually turning the furnace on when
we need heat, but it could be a long night because it's 14 F right now with
an expected low of 7.

Thanks,
Norma

Re: Lenovo Laptops.

Hi Juan,

Ok, I’m going to try and put my two cents in here too.  Thank you for letting me know you have and are happy with Lenovo, as hearing this from you as well as others on the list, gives me great relief.  I am far from a gamer, and I don’t plan on becoming one!  LOL! This Laptop Lenovo sounded good, and the price was right, matter of fact, it was the cheapest I could find at that time.  Actually I wanted to buy it at Best Buy which is a hop and skip away from me, so if something goes wrong with the Laptop, I can easily take it to Best Buy if it needed work done on it.  Best Buy had it on their site for $599, and Amazon had it on their site for $499, so I had a sited person go on Best Buy’s site, and ask them to do a price match, and they did, so I saved $100, and I think that is a good price especially for this Lenovo.

Thank you again!

Putting my two cents into this topic. I was a big dell computer guy but this year I decided to go with the Lenovo Legion i5 and I would not look back. This is a power house and for the price it was right. I would not recommend this computer to some one who needs it for portability cause this is a gaming computer but Lenovo’s productivity laptops are great as well. My Girlfriend has a Lenovo ultra book and it has lasted her for a long time. You really cannot go wrong with Lenovo right now.

As far as I know, wireless is the same as Bluetooth. So, those headphones should work with any device with Bluetooth capability. But to be on the safe side, maybe you should call the Apple store and ask. Good luck.
