Mike, does she have any sight? Even if not, I know some of the newer magnifiers also have built-in speech, although those start to get more expensive. You might look at the Humanware line of magnifiers. I thought they had one or more that also had speech.

If it is not a cctv, portable or not, and it is not a smart phone, what does that leave?
Many hears ago, there was a cell phone with the 0original knfb reader; b ut, that’s been replaced tith a smart phone.
There are some devices that look like a pair of glasses with a mini camera attached.
It must be connected to some kind of processor, I don’t know what it is called.

I was talking with a good friend this morning who is neither a computer user nor an owner of a smart phone. She told me that she has heard of a portable device which reads your mail or other paper documents. I asked her if she meant a c c t v and she said no.
What do you all use to read the mail which comes in your mail box or other paper documents if you are not a computer or smart phone user? Is there such a thing as a portable reader and who would make such a device? My friend has a volunteer reader, but can
not meet with this person because of the current situation.

Hi Pablo. I've been sifting through my messages from the last two weeks and saw yours. I have used JAWS in a Citrix environment, VMWare and also RDP. Citrix and VMWare seem to work the best. A lot depends on band width. If you have good connectivity, things work well. Of course, you need to have the Remote access add-on license on your version of JAWS, which is an additional 200 bucks.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I already bought another ASUS today. I cancelled my appointment with the Geek Squad for today, as well as the purchase of the ASUS VivoBook Laptop. When I was on line to check for another ASUS as I seem to like those keyboards, and I found the exact same one I had bought last week for the exact same price, and this one is brand new, and not open box. The only difference is the one I bought today, is not a VivoBook, and this is fine with me. I didn't buy any of the warranties though, and I'm fine with that I hope! Smile! I also know where the control, windows. Enter keys so I can once again try to get Narrator going, so I can complete the set up. Instead of having the Laptop delivered, I will pick it up, and I will take it out of the box, and if Narrator doesn't stay on, I will leave the Laptop there! Smile!

I've seen just way too many times how people treat those floor devices. It might not have even been a floor device, it could have been someone took it home, and used it for awhile, it could have been a trade in, but Best Buy says it is new, but when I check my account on line, it makes it perfectly clear this is an out of the box item, and matter of fact, on their web site, they also say they don't sell this Laptop new anymore, but yet they want to charge me for the full price as a new Laptop, but that's not going to happen! LOL! ,

Carolyn,
Paying $50 isn't bad. The Laptop I bought was $699.99, but because I couldn't use the chat feature online, I had a friend to go online to see if she could get Best Buy to do a price match, and Best Buy did for $100 in which brought down the price to $500.99, but I still say that is to much money to pay for something out of the box, or at least for me it is. I wasn't even told this Laptop was out of the box though. I didn't even know this until I got an email from them thanking me for shopping at Best Buy Outlet, but I wasn't shopping at an outlet store. Because it was a out of the box Laptop, that could very well answer my question is why I couldn't keep Narrator turned on long enough to set up my new Laptop. I guess is like the saying, everything happens for a reason because if I did set up my Laptop, I probably wouldn't have ever known I didn't buy a new Laptop, but instead I bought something that was out of the box, in which means that could be for several different reasons why it was out of the box. Best Buy does have a trade in Laptop program, and they can't guarantee me this was not a trade in, or just something that was on the floor for anyone who wanted to just play around with it.

Hi Juan,
I did go in to the Best Buy store, and I felt the keys on the Asus,
and I did like that as it also had a NumPad. I just didn’t know it
was what Best Buy calls out of the box, as the salesmen never told me
that. I also seen a HP Laptop I liked, and I also seen a Dell Laptop
I liked, but I now don’t know if all those Laptops are out of the box,
meaning someone could have brought it back to the store as a trade in
after they might have had it for several months or even a year.
Although, as I am searching online, I have noticed the Asus Laptops
now have the Intell processor instead of the AMD Risen like the one I bought. So, I don’t really know what all that means.
Can you tell me what kind of keyboard you have with those keys, as
that sounds like something I would like as well, or is it the Lenovo
one you currently have? I had a Lenovo a few weeks ago, and the
problem I had with the keys on the keyboard, was the keys would stick
down in the board when I pressed them. The keys were to large for my
fingers, and they were to many different shapes, meaning some of them were long, some of them were short.
Thank you for all this.

A great method of finding the right laptop for you is to go into a
computer shop and have some hands on with the laptop. I personally do
not like the crammed keyboards so I went in and found one that has
great spacing. I also wanted one with a number pad and this one had
it. I also would stay with any of the intel core I5 computers or AMD
Ryzen 5 and up for processors. 8 GB Ram and SSD of 250 GB or higher.
Lenovo is my computer manufacture of choice right now but that doesn’t
mean there isn’t other good computers in the dell, hp, lineups.

Hi these are like model names, think pad and ideapad from Linovo as
far as I know and vivobook from Asus.
They are like series, and you can find plenty of models in that
series, just as for example, iPad pro 2018, 2020 etc.
Naturally 2020 model will have more updated specs such as processor
or ram etc.
Think pad for example 14inch laptop with intel processer and several
models coming either i5 or i7 and all of them U which means low energy
consumption.
So all of them laptop just different companies and different models.
You have others similar to these, dell xps, hp specter etc.
To know which one you should pick, first decide for what you are
getting the device for, if heavy gaming or video editing etc, these
are not so good, but for productivity and portability, these are perfect.
And laptops which are for gaming and more than 14-15 inch will be not
so great with portability hence they will be quite heavy.
Good luck.

I'm not sure what is occuring. If you check and see that
the message is going to the correct address, it shouldn't go
to both addresses. it sounds as though the messages are
going to the correct address and to the incorrect address.
There are ways to place an address in a message using
contacts that don't involve autocomplete. If you don't know
how to do that with your specific program, ask here.
Meantime, try manually writing the entire address in the to
line of a message and don't use autocomplete. Send the
message and see what happens.

I really doubt it. A delivery failure message would result
from a delivery failure, not from an unsent message. An
unsent message has never been attempted to be delivered.
How long and how often do you receive the undelivery
message? When mail can't be delivered, you may receive a
number of failure messages over a period of many days. the
messages may say something like this was the third delivery
attempt, we shall continue to try two more times. Your

see if the messages stop.
They should stop by themselves.

I wanted to report on the accessibility of the LG. Classic flip phone from Net10. I was pleasantly surprised on how well read out works.(read out is the screen reader). You will need sighted help to turn on read out in the Initial setup. After that you can read all menus, settings contact, messages and etc. Manual is not much help with explaining the accessible settings. Haven't tested Internet browser or
typing. But this might be a good phone for some people who
don't need a full smart phone. It can be purchased for $39 or less if you buy a plan with the phone.

Hi Sugar, Pam, Carolyn,
Oh sure I love my iPhone too, but only when it works! Smile! Although, there are still times when I would just like to make a phonecall, and not have to bother listening to Siri or Voiceover, as sometimes it just talks way too much. I know the ways to stop them from talking, but that is what I get tired of. So I guess, one could say I have a love-hate relationship with my iPhone, meaning I love it when it works, and I hate it when it doesn’t! I do miss my old flip phone, but I doubt very much if I could ever get used to another flip phone though again.

Hi all,

In openbook there is a setting to turn off recognition of columns so things like phone bills and bank statements read correctly.
Is there a similar setting in k1000 and if so where may I find it?

on band width. If you have good connectivity, things work well. Of
course, you need to have the Remote access add-on license on your
version of JAWS, which is an additional 200 bucks.

Oh Yes, this does matter to me. I paid for a brand new Laptop, not one that was an open box. WE are talking with taxes, $662, oh yeah, it needs to be new. If I paid for something brand new, I definitely want it to be brand new. As I also stated before, I was getting emails from Best Buy Outlet, in which I never heard of. So today I bought a brand new one exactly the same except this one I bought today just isn't a VivoBook, and I'm fine with that. Best Buy will send me an email to let me know when I can pick it up, and I don't think it will be to long because they had this one in stock.

Can you tell me what kind of keyboard you have with those keys, as

Good luck.

Well, if you know how to use NVDA, you can always put it on a thumb drive
and stick in the laptop and you can set it up using NVDA instead of
narrator! And you can take that portable copy and install it on your laptop
as a full copy if you want to use NVDA! But narrator will set up windows and
it will talk you threw it; just have turn it on. The tricky part is to set
up a local account instead of a Microsoft account; they changed it now!
