JAWS 2021.2012.48 - January 2021

Re: JAWS and Windows Ten Question Please.

Janet

HI Madison.
As soon as I press shift f10, all I hear is a ding sound, and that is as far as I can get, so this isn't working. I have been having problems with JAWS 2021, and I even downloaded a new version of JAWS 2021 thinking maybe JAWS 2021 got corrupted during the first download. So, after downloading again, I then get a message saying this version of JAWS needs to be repaired, so I press space or enter to allow JAWS to repair, and I'm assuming it is repairing, as I hear the ticking sound as well as a message saying JAWS is preparing to download, and I get a message about 10 or 15 minutes later saying JAWS has completed the repair, and I need to restart my computer, so I restart the computer, but JAWS is still the exact same way. I can't seem to do anything with JAWS 2021 rather on my Laptop win 10 or PC win 07.
Thank you so much for your instructions, as I wil keep them for further references.

Janet

Hi Janit,
Hit the Windows key
Arrow down and you'll hear all aps
Arrow down until you get to Jaws, if your computer is like mine then it'll
probably be a folder that's collapsed
If this is the case then enter on the folder and the first thing that should
come up is Jaws 2021
Press shift f10 then arrow down a few times and you'll find uninstall
Just enter on this and you should get a little voice telling how far along the
uninstall is

Hope this helps!!

Hi Everyone,
Can someone please tell me if there is an easier way to uninstall JAWS 2021 in
Windows 10 Laptop, other than going through the Control Panel? I already know
how to uninstall a program through the Control Panel. I don't think I've ever
uninstalled JAWS before, as I usually install it.

Thank you in advance.

Recommendations for a color printer?

David Mehler

Hello,

I'm in the market for a color printer, laser or ink unimportant. I've
got a rather low budget $50 to $100 max, I realize this limits my
options, and I've got another qualifier, must be linux-compatible i.e.
work with the linux cups software. Accessible a must, wireless ok but
not needed as I can hook it up via USB to a raspberry pi print server
i've got.

Thanks for any recommendations.
Dave.

C Cleaner has a free version as well, it will just not update automatically or run cleans automatically. You will have to run them manually. You may need to enable the tabs by clicking the button more details. In the performance tab you will see CPU button and memory button. You can see the values by pressing enter, if the percentages are high then go back to the processes tab and see which process is using up CPU resources.

A few things you can look at are:

Make sure that the computer doesn’t have anything blocking the vents such as table cloths etc…

You can also check for driver and bio updates with the Lenovo vintage app that should be already installed on your computer.

There is also some performance settings you can adjust in this app that might help.

You can download C  Cleaner to do a clean up of the machine and also to turn off programs that start up automatically.

You can use task manager under the performance tab to see which program is using up the CPU resources the most.

Hopefully this helps.

viewPlus embosser question

Josh Kennedy

Hi,

What punch force setting should I use for my viewPlus embosser for cut sheet paper, standard 100 pounds braille paper, and also what should I change the punch force to, for use with permabraille plastic sheets? Also can cut-sheet labels with the peel-off-backing from American thermoform be used in the embosser? Or should I just use a slate or perkins brailler with those?

using an amazon gift card

Troy Burnham

Hi all,

I put 3 items in my online amazon shopping cart but when I went to pay for them I couldn't tell if my gift card balance would be used to make the purchase or not. I have enough on the gift cards to cover the whole purchase, and it does show that I have a gift card balance although it only shows 30 something dollars and the total of my gift cards is $75, how can I make sure that my gift card balance is used? Btw what I'm buying won't take up the entire gift card balance.

Hi all,

I've had this laptop since March, and I notice that the fan seems to run a lot,

which I assume means that the laptop gets overheated, any idea why this might be

happening? I'm running Windows 10 2004, the latest Jaws 2021, and office 365. My

laptop is a Lenovo think book 13s 20r9005vus

Look forward to any thoughts or help anyone can provide!!!

Okay, doing this won’t effect Jaws or MS Office right? Also, if it doesn’t do cleanings/updates automatically then how will I know when they need done?

Where do I get the free version of c-cleaner? Will doing it effect Jaws or MS Office?

C Cleaner has a free version as well, it will just not update automatically or run cleans automatically. You will have to run them manually. You may need to enable the tabs by clicking the button more details. In the performance tab you will see CPU button and memory button. You can see the values by pressing enter, if the percentages are high then go back to the processes tab and see which process is using up CPU resources.

Do I have to pay for c-cleaner? Also, do I have to pay for it? It said that my system is up-to-date. I found task manager, but can’t find the performance tab…
