Re: Making Ethernet cables

No guys,

I am so sorry if my message has not been clear.
I cannot use a prebuild amazon cable. A prebuild cable is going to be
extremely difficult to pass through the phone pipes and structure of my
home. I am trying to wire my home. I have tons of those cables from amazon
and Walmart. However, these cables are not going to fix the problem, my
problem.I need to pass these cables through phone pipes, and the
structure of a house. Not behind the bed.

Pablo, have an ethernet cable made? Hmm, if you live in these United States
or Canada, I'm certain you can't buy enough of this to empty it off the
shelves of Walmart, Bestbuy, Microcenter and others. None of these stores
are available in your area? Amazon WILL BRING IT TO YOU, just let it know
how long you want the RJ-45 cable to be and you'd be back in business before

Re: Making Ethernet cables

Pablo Morales

Yes, it is true. However, what I am trying to do is not to make a short or exposed cable between 2 or X devices. I am trying to pass the Ethernet Cable through my home, inside the home structure as the phone cable is in every room. Using the prebuild ethernet cable that we can buy on Amazon could be a problem also since we are not going to know what is the presise distance or path that the cable should pass before getting to the point where we have the ethernet jack. Additionally, the size of the RJ-45 adapters could make the process more difficult.

It is why I am trying to find a way to install the RJ-45 on the ethernet cables that I already have installed through my home.

According with videos that I have listening on YouTube, it sounds very easy for someone who can see the cables and who is able to have the precision to keep the thing cables on the right spot until the clip covers the RJ-45 adapter.

However, we, the blind community always are finding ways to do things that sighted people also do. It is why I was asking here if here was anybody with experience about that been blind.

Hi Pablo,

No, I do not know any blind or low vision person who has made these cables.

These cables are so cheap these days, now that wireless is here in such a big way,  that I’m sure you could buy them  already made up for pennies a foot.

Evenanold dinosaur like my self,  has sent many meters of these to the recycle center.

You could probably find some at a recycle center.

Hello all,

I am wondering if, anyone here being totally blind has been able to install a RJ 45 adapters on a ethernet cable

I think that it might be very difficult. I guess that a tester could be needed to identify the cable colors. Nevertheless, I think that the worse part is placing the little cables on the adapter in the correct order without putting anyone on the wrong place.

Has anyone able to work on this?

Would you like to share your experience?

Thanks in advance to all,

GRABBING whatever apps were grabbable from the Play Store and wherever else

I don't use them all, but I am a tinkerer always TESTING APPS for
accessibility and usability as a blind individual. As such, if I wish to
DELETE SEVERAL APPS, I know which ones to KNOCK OUT OF THE BALLPARK without
hurting my toy.

Yes, her toy DOES HAVE AN SD CARD SLOT. When you said Galaxy7, I'm assuming
your daughter has the S7 series and this one does include the said slot.
Samsung brought it back after it made dismal sales of the S6 where it had
tried removing it. It has removed the SD CARD SLOT in the latest S21, many
of us are watching what the sales figures will be like in a few months.
Retaining the SD CARD SLOT was a good thing for Samsung, but may be the
conglomerate has uncovered other goodies and now feels comfortable throwing
it away on the S21.

I do hope this is somewhat helpful; as an aside, if you've read my posts,

Hello Kay. I found a Youtube video that goes straight to the core of what
your daughter is trying to do. This guy shows you where to go on the S7,
and shows you a lot of the places where unwanted or excess gigabytes can
hide. It sounds like the S7 does have a micro-SD card slot, and that you
can make your games and apps use the SD card for their data instead of her
phone. Check it out.

why the question. I'm not trying to sound argumentative, I just don't know

Kay, not enough info to proffer real advice! For instance, beyond photos
which take up a lot of space anyway, what other apps does she have? Videos
also KILL SPACE, how many of these does she have? Additionally, her toy
DOES HAVE AN SD CARD SLOT; why isn't she TAKING FULL ADVANTAGE of this for

As for cache clearing, she will need to do that on each app. That could

uninstall as much of the unneeded junk she allowed to pile up overtime.

A Galaxy question

Kay Malmquist

Hi all,
My daughter has a Galaxy 7 and it is a 64 GB phone.  She has 2 GB of space left and she is wondering what the best way to clear some of the stuff out might be.  Like cash and anything else you all can think of.  She has 20 GB of pictures and videos and she is working on backing some of them up and taking them out. but she knows since this phone is around 2 years old there has to be some junk she can eliminate.  Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks much.
