Re: Which of these BlueTooth keyboards are better?

James Bentley

Hi,

I’m leaning toward the plugable because reviews indicate that it is durable.

Some reviews of the IClever complained about its plastic hinges braking and internal shorts.

Did you find that the Plugable would fit in to your jeans front pocket?

I suppose if these foldable keyboards are so big that a backpack is required, then why not just use a small rigid keyboard.

If anybody has played with either of these two toys, I am curious to know which you liked the most.  Or, maybe you know about even better choices?

I’m looking for a small folding keyboard that will function with multiple operating systems.  However, I am mostly interested in using it with my iPhone.

Thanks to anyone who has any ideas.

Re: if you were getting a new computer.

People can tell you what players and recording programs they use but the answer won't mean much without knowing if your programs meet your needs now or what needs you want met that aren't being. the reason to use Virtual Recorder is that it allows you to record what your sound card plays even if your sound card doesn't support a what you hear option, also called Stereo Mix and other names.

We don't know what format of files you use. If you only use MP3 files, then for editing, if you do editing, MP3 Direct Cut is a very good choice. But we don't know if you edit files or want to. It’s a free program.

If Winamp meets your needs, then why use a different player?

Hi all,

It looks like I can select what I want on the computer I am getting, so, I want your opinions.

What would you like on your computer? Since I am into music, and use music files for my global voice shows, I obviously want a good player, and, a good recorder to use. I want win amp as my primary player, and have been using virtual recorder, but I’m open to suggestions on any recorder you like. How much memory etc. would you like? any of these thoughts are appreciated. I am running jaws 2018, but will be running jaws 2021 on my new computer.[Jim

Olusegun -- Victory Associates LTD, Inc.

Uncle James B, the two bluetooth keyboards you referenced are plentiful on
amazon.com/ Whereas it is OK to patronize a company owned and operated by a
blind individual, I personally would only do so if what I am looking for can
not be found in the mainstream market where the price could be even cheaper.
Yes, every penny counts and I squeeze blood out of stones, and stones out of
turnips! That's probably why I'm a tad too crazy for my own good.

Plugable DOES HAVE a compact-size trifold bluetooth keyboard; the full-size
variety DOES NOT include the NumPad keys assuming that's important to you.

You can read more about Plugable's full-size folding bluetooth keyboard
here:

https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Foldable-Compatible-Full-Size-Bluetooth/dp/B
019PIXO78/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Plugable+Folding+BlueTooth+keyboard+w
ith+case&qid=1618458732&sr=8-3

If you buy from amazon.com, there's a coupon for $6 off the $49.95 price.
But, wait a minute! Are you comfortable with purchasing Renewed toys? If
you answer YES, then you get it even cheaper at $21 off, thus bringing down
the price to only $28.95! If I were eyeing this particular keyboard, the
"RENEWED EDITION" will be my price point.

The compact-size one from Plugable sells for $44.95, <yikes!>

What I like about the Plugable Bluetooth Keyboard is the magnetic leather
cover. I had the Compact-size one, but it beat the dust quickly and COULD
NOT ENDURE the torture chamber.

iClever DOES MAKE REASONABLY GOOD, FOLDING BLUETOOTH KEYBOARDS as well. The
one you referenced is the iClever BK05 and is a trifold bluetooth keyboard.
I JUST GRABBED one about three weeks ago and a TAD TOO SLOW giving it a REAL
GOOD KICK in my torture chamber. However, I'm able to STICK IT in my
jacket's pocket with no problems though one might feel the bulk somewhat. I
don't like its protective casing, just a pouch; I suppose one could grab one
of those magnetic leather cases for it, but I don't know for sure. I think
I have the .PDF manual for this one if you'd like me to send it your way,
please yell in this space and I'll get it to you privately. Like the
Plugable, this keyboard is good for Windows, iOS and My Beloved Android and
Linux! Again, I haven't taken it through its paces fully, but I have been
able to type on it on my laps with no qualms at all and the keyboard DID NOT
FOLD UP on me accidentally or otherwise. The iClever BK05 also DOES NOT
HAVE the NumPad keys assuming these are important to you. It's hard to find
a folding bluetooth keyboard with the NumPad keys; I'm looking for a
full-size one myself with NumPad keys and luck hasn't been my friend yet.
Hopefully, it'll be here soonest.

I trust that the foregoing is a tad helpful. May be I can answer a question
or two here and there; just remember to HIDE ONE UNDER THAT TREE FOR ME, I'm
coming for tea and I'd like to SNEAK OFF with one of them with Santa's help
in June or July. Good luck sir with the decision-making process on either
keyboard!

Olusegun

My New Keyboard Dell Business Multimedia And A Question

Ron Canazzi

Hi Group,

I am the guy who posted questions about a keyboard a few weeks ago with specifications I wanted: two windows keys, volume control for default audio and so on.  I purchased one that fits all those needs and more.  it is the Dell Multimedia Business Keyboard KB522.
I got it on amazon for about $35 US.

This board even has keys to launch your default mail program, take a screen shot and launch your default browser.  I don't really need the mail and browser keys because I already have hot keys set up for those myself.  I am wondering if you can change the default keystrokes to launch mail and browser from the Windows default: Mail in  Windows 10 and Edge for Windows Ten.  I am just curious.  I looked under device manager for any such settings for the keyboard and I saw none.  I looked for an INI file associated with the keyboard and I could find none.

If anyone knows how to customize these very useful settings, I would appreciate some help--just for laughs and giggles if for no other reason.

Which version of Excel are you using?  The XLSX format was introduced in Excel 2007 and has been the standard Excel format since.  If you are using Excel 2003 or earlier, it might not open it, although if you are using Office 2003, it should prompt you to download a converter from Microsoft which will at least let you open XLSX files.

I use a regular p c keyboard.

On my keyboard,  there are three keys above the 6 pack.  The left key of this row of 3 is the screenshot key.

When you are on the screen you want a picture of,  press the screenshot key and  the pic will be on your clipboard.

alt+tab has stopped working

In recent days this key combination has not worked as it did a week
ago. I used to be able to hold down the ALT key then press the TAB key
multiple times while never letting the ALT key up to scroll through
multiple windows/programs. Now I can only go back and forth through
two programs. If I want to go to something else I have open I have to
go to my task bar and select it. I am running JAWS 2021 and Windows 10
20 h2. Any thoughts on what might have caused this?

The Excel commands with the end/home plus the different arrow keys don’t appear to work. I have both the accessibility and Braille display settings enabled as well as the use similar commands as in other spread sheet programs or whatever it’s called.

I’ve poked around in the list of keystroke commands (including for navigation) also in settings and didn’t find anything either.

Ideally, I’d like for focus to land on the last row with data as this spread sheet in particular is always being updated Cristóbal

For the record, I’m using the most current versions of Jaws 2021 and Edge.

Re: podcast recording on iPhone

Victor

Hi:

There are many powerful and accessible recording apps for the iPhone.  These include Dolby On, Ferrite Recording Studio, GoldWave, Hokusai and TwistedWave.  I strongly urge you to look up each one of these apps in the app store and elsewhere on the internet to learn all about them so that you can decide which ones will best suit you.  You might want to use several of these apps so you can get the most out of audio production and editing.

I hope others will contribute their own suggestions and advice on this matter.

Blessings,

Victor

Re: Logitech H800 Replacement USB Nano Receiver

Yo Admiral,

Sorry but, sent the 1st reply too quick.  I did talk to Logitech support and you cannot get a replacement USB nano receiver to use with the RF feature for the H-800 headsets and you cannot use universal USB nano receiver for these headsets either.  These headsets are nano receiver specific to each individual headset.  This is what I was told by Logitech tech support.

General Mike, since the Logitech H800 also has bluetooth built-in, I'm
thinking it might be ok to simply forget about the lost USB dongle and just
pare it as a bluetooth toy.

As for a replacement dongle though, I think only Logitech can come close to
providing a real answer on that one.
