Yes, you can certainly set up filters in Outlook which will do what you want. Of course with imap, you could do the same on the server end of things with labels. In any case, I am glad you got

There are many advantages to IMAP. When your computer dies, all the messages with IMAP are stored on the server, not on your individual machine. Pop works, but IMAP is much more versatile. --

What is wrong with pop? I think somebody set me up with imap, but I am used to pop. I don’t do email on anything but my computer, so I don’t see any advantages to imap. Pam.

I've had to finesse cables in this way. Works well for a quick fix but I'd buy cables like howard spoke of if I needed a more permanant connection.

I am not sure why they say IMap is superior since I too have used POP 3 forever and not had any problems. The only reason I can see for using IMap is when you wish your email to be synched to several

If you use more than one device to get e-mail, you might want to use IMAP. The messages remain on the server and more than one device can look at them without one device being to set to leave mail on

That's very strange that they connect in stereo when pushed part way in. I remember having a stereo plug in a mono jack and pushing that part way in in order for it to work, but it of course worked
