Re: disabling the mouse drivers
Also, which method in that article did you try? There were several described and disabling it in Device Manager should usually work and be retained between reboots.

Re: my dell laptop
So they are considering a dual core with I assume two processers on each core hyper threading as a quad core. Just trying to understand where they getting quad core from and it is a dual core.

Look in the system tray for whatever is relevant. I did this a long time ago on my Windows 7 machine. I don't know if you will see a specific item for your touch pad or something more general but I

Hi Gene,
I only have skip this intigration, and set as default. And I appear to not be able to check the mail, and news check boxes. I can uncheck the middle one, however.

Yes. As the text said it as well. I used NVDA speech viewer to copy, so the current status of the box is what it said there. Regardless of whether I check the always check check box, or for that

Re: my dell laptop
Yes I don't recall hearing of any laptops with true quad-core processors either, with the possible exception of the Razer Blade gaming laptop.

disabling the mouse drivers
Oh, while I'm at it, any ideas about this one? I can disable the mouse driver no problem, and I hit apply, and everything, but the next time I reboot, the driver reactivates. What's happening here,

Re: my dell laptop
So they call that a quad core eveven though it has two cores? Wouldn’t that be a quad processer which would be about the same I assume. I did ask if it had a quad core and they said yes so don’t

OK Matt,
The Intel Core I series for laptops are essentially all dual core, but have what they call 4 hyperthreads, and generally have turbo boost to increase processing power when required, that

I'm sure they mean physical cores. Anything else would be seriously
misleading and I doubt Dell support would generally be so careless.
