Re: Gmail and iOS mail app?

I use Gmail and have never encountered this prompt. The only thing I can think to try is delete the account and set it up again. In the Mail settings, when you double tap on the Gmail account, there should be a button somewhere that says, "Remove or delete account." I haven't done this in a while and don't remember how I did it. But once the account is deleted, just set it up the way you did before. I hope that works.

Re: Problem adding GMail accounts to outlook

Are you using an old enough version of Outlook that you need an application specific password?  You need two factor authentication to get one.  I'm quite sure you don't need one if you are using an e-mail program that is new enough not to require an application specific password.

I see you are trying to add an account to Outlook. I don't use Outlook but what I said should apply. You are adding an already set up account to an e-mail program that, presumably is new enough not to need an application specific password. If you are using an older version of Outlook, let us know.

I remember having to grant access but I didn't know it was a browser window.  I thought something came up in the program itself.

If so, placing another browser on the machine and making it the default should solve the problem.

What do you mean add an account? When you add an account to Thunderbird, you don't use a browser at all if the account is already set up. You add it in Thunderbird itself. If you don't know how it is done, ask here.

You don't need two factor authentication if you are adding an account using Thunderbird and you don't need an application specific password.

It's a good idea to set up two factor authentication but it is not related to setting up an account in Thunderbird.

As for the browser problem if you do want to sign into your account on the web, I don't know what the problem is. Try another browser like Firefox and see what happens.

Gmail and iOS mail app?

adam morris

Hi all,
I don't use gmail.
Someone has contacted me saying that they can't receive email using the default mail app on their iPhone.
They get a prompt from what I understand asking them to answer yes to a prompt that can't be accessed with the mail app.
This has only happened in the last day or so.
I thought I read somewhere that you need to change a setting from your gmail settings on the web.
If someone could give steps on what to do that would be great.
Sorry for the sketchy information on what is happening.
TIA.

Re: question on the longevity of newer braille displays

audrey joy

Hi Madison,

I'm Audrey in NYC.

I recommend the HIMS products; I have the Braillesense 6 and the QBraille. Both are 18 months to 2-plus years old, and the Braille displays are crisp and very reliable. I also have the U2 Mini, which is about ten years old and still working great.

I went through 2 Focuses, both having display and battery issues.

If you're going to invest in a new display, contact your HIMS dealer.

Good luck.

Audrey

Hi all,
I know that this answer may vary but on average how long have the newer
displays lasted you? I'm unsure when I got mine and I'm just terying to
figure out given the fact that it's been sent in twice in the past couple of
years for cleanings how much longer I might have before I have to buy a 5th
gen. I'm mainly interested in hearing from users of Focus displays but since
most brands are similar I'm not sure what brand you have really matters. I
use mine daily but only to follow along with JAWS and it always stays on my
desk. Look forward to any thoughts that anyone can provide me!! Thanks
