Re: When I go in to my documents to look at the files there I can't see them
Jamie
Thank you everyone for your help.
I did a search and this solved my problem. Just in case anyone is having
trouble with the same thing, I’ll share what I have learned.
Incidently, I was doing a search for the documents from the start menu with
no success. I was unable to maximize it.
Perhaps this will help anyone else.
Opening documents in windows 8.1
Opening Documents in Windows 8
Showing Documents through Windows Explorer
1. Open 1. Windows Explorer.
2. Double-click the This PC icon.
3. Double-click the Documents folder.
Browsing to the Documents folder in Windows Explorer
1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Under This PC double-click the C: drive.
3. In the C: drive, double-click the Users folder.
4. Double-click the <name>, where <name> is
the name of your user account. For example, if your login name is Nathan, you
would click on Nathan.
5. Double-click on the Documents folder.
Showing Documents on the desktop
In early versions of Microsoft Windows, the My Documents folder could be
found on the desktop by default. However, Windows 8 has the start screen and has
disabled this feature by default. If you want this folder on the desktop, see
our show the documents folder on the desktop page.
Once Documents is visible on the desktop, double-clicking on this folder
allows you to access your saved documents on your computer.

Subject: Re: [TechTalk] When I go in to my documents to look at the
files there I can't see them I'm not sure what that means. Do you have a
sighted person who can tell you if the files are being displayed? I'm
trying to think of another way you can get to the same files. Are you
opening My Documents on the desktop? I don't recall if you stated what
version of Windows you are using but there is at least one more way to get to
the folder. Try an experiment. Open the start menu search and type
documents. Do you see a documents folder or more than one? Can you
open them and see the files?
Others may be able to give you other ways or better
ways. I'm making a suggestion but I don't know what you will see to
open.
But I'm suggesting finding another way to open the
folder because you may currently be working with the library and not directly
with the folder. Something may have happened that is causing yu problems
with the library but that may have nothing to do with working with the folder
itself.

Hi Speeddots,
While looking on your website, I did not see any mention of the I phone 7. I am interested in the telephone overlay for an I phone 7. Yes, the one with dots on all the keypad numbers etc. Do you have this? How much does it cost? How much to ship to Canada? Thanks, Monte

Ms. Smith, I have a pocket-size folding bluetooth keyboard from Plugable;
I've had this keyboard for more than two and a half years assuming the memory cells are not playing a cruel game with me. I do like Plugable products; I didn't know though that they also make sound cards. Their Tech Support is stellar albeit I've only had the need to use their assistance once! Plugable is based in the great state of Washington; give their sound card a try and hopefully you might like it. Sincerely, Olusegun Denver, Colorado

Re: how do I enable the win amp equalizer once I have it open?
Gene
Make sure you are in the equalizer window.
Control tab will move you there if it is opened. If you try control tab a
few times and nothing happens, issue the command alt g. Now control tab
should place you there. Now n will toggle the equalizer on and off.
Once you are finished working in that window, you
can either control tab back to the main window or you can close the window first
with alt g, then control tab to the main window. The equalizer will
continue to work if it is on and the window is closed.
If you know you are in the equalizer window and you
don't hear an announcement when you use n, let us know.

Re: the Victor reader stream and bluetooth
Steven Johnson <saxmonger@...>
I think Troy may just be having problems with more than one device fighting to pair with his Bluetooth headphones. I think he has a Miccus Bluetooth transmitter hooked to his Victor. When that happens to me, I will often just unplug or temporarily turn off the other devices to which I have paired a speaker or headphones while I am trying to get paired up with one particular source like the Miccus. I have had Bluetooth transmitting devices like the Echo often fight for my headphones if more than one of the transmitting devices are running and constantly trying to pair with my headphones.

Re: Realtek Driver With Equalizer
Gene
Since the message below the question is about the
Realtech equalizer, it can't be assumed that the Winamp equalizer is being
discussed.
But the answer, whichever equalizer it is, is
yes. The Realtech equalizer must be accessible or Mike wouldn't have
provided a means to get it. That's what all equalizers do, adjust
different frequency bands of sound so you can customize the sound as you
wish. Base and trebble controls are, in a way, very crude
equalizers. They adjust bass and trebble but not with anywhere near the
fine control of equalizers, which have five bands, ten bands, and some may have
more, I never checked.

Equalizer Yes, you can adjust the equalizer to your liking for bass which would be 1 and Q to adjust accordingly, and 0 and P for treble.
Use the following hot keys in the WinAmp Equalizer (for JAWS users): To open/close the equalizer, press Alt+G. To enable/disable the equalizer after it is opened, press N. To toggle equalizer auto-loading, press A. To open the presets menu, press S.
To increase the equalizer bands, press 1 through 0 on Numeric Row. To decrease the equalizer bands, press Q through P. To increase the equalizer PreAmp, press GROV ACCENT. To decrease the equalizer PreAmp, press TAB.

Howdy,
Below is the download link for the Realtek driver with equalizer I use when necessary to fix a Realtek soundcard problem if this problem pops up. Read the instruction text file before attempting the executable. If you don't follow the instructions you'll get an error message when trying to install. I use this driver for both Windows 7 & 10 64 bit Pro systems.
Take care.

Re: Real tech problem

You don't need to and even if it isn't working
properly, its good to have a backup. Any card you plug into the USB ports
becomes the default sound card. Its better not to micromanage things to
that extent.

I had the headset and the transmitter easily within 3 feet of each other but my phone and my echo were both within the same distance and of course they both have bluetooth so that may be the problem.
