I have a portable version I can send you as a zip file. Unzip it, then run it. It is a portable program and needs no installation. It was modified to make it more accessible by the late and missed Carlos. That was many years ago and I don't know if the installed version is now more accessible. Others may know about the installed version, if you want it. I'll send a link to get the portable version in a later message. I will send the program to a file sharing site. Re: Narrator giving me more info than NVDA
Ron Canazzi
Hi Group,
That NVDA command insert + B (NVDA KEY + B) also has the effect of reading the hidden items at times when the virtual cursor/edit cursor renders blank. By this I mean that if you get little or no feedback when trying to read a relatively inaccessible screen such as in a dialogue box in an off the shelf piece of software or sometimes some sort of pop up on a web page, and when you switch to the object or screen review and nothing is rendered, then press insert + B and listen to the results. It may take a bit of time because NVDA will read everything on the screen including the names of tool bars, menu items system items such as move/size/minimize/maximize and so on, but also many times it will read what sighted people see on the screen that is not apparent using other NVDA methods. Also try the insert + R recognition feature with Windows OCR and NVDA. This also works on some somewhat inaccessible screens. On 6/19/2022 11:56 PM, Gene wrote:

That may be, but I'm telling you a standard way to get it to read
more of a dialog if you believe or want to see if there is more
information. As far as the issues you are having are concerned,
discussing them here or on the NVDA Users' list may help you solve
them.

Re: accessibility with dropbox?
Gene
If Dropbox isn't on your desktop, you may want to do that, But when
you install the app, it places a Dropbox icon on the desktop by
default. If you press enter on it, wait a little while and then
press enter again if the interface showing folders and files doesn't
open. If Dropbox isn't running, the first time you press enter on
it, Dropbox starts the program which may take perhaps half a minute
or longer. Then when the program is ready, pressing enter on the
icon again opens the folder.

Re: Frustration with pasting files onto an SD card

I don't use SD cards but I would think it is the same in principle
as using an external drive or thumb drive. Others who use SD cards
may have more and better comments but since you are having the same
problem with two different computers, my guess is that the card has
a problem. Do you have any other card to test with?

It may be that I didn't have to do anything in response to the
e-mail. Others will, I hope comment. It may be that the shared
folder appeared in my Dropbox desktop app when it was shared.

If you type dropbox in the start menu and hit enter to open it, it’ll open to your dropbox folder where everything is . From there you can find your shared folder. Hit enter to open it. Find the files, and copy and paste. Or cut and paste if your friend doesn’t wat them there anymore. John
