OK, so I am trying to play with the camera on my iPhone SE and I want

Re: for Steve Matzura, thunderbird tutorial?

Steve Matzura

Hope is correct. It's under the Tools menu, in account settings in the Servers tree view item. But don't change to POP-3; instead, get the proper DNS name for the IMap server from your domain registrar, which is presumably also your email provider, and plug that in instead. For example, noisynotes.com is hosted by and registered with GoDaddy, so to get my IMap server settings, I logged into my GoDaddy account and went to one of its various dashboards and found it under email settings. IMap is far superior in so many behind-the-scenes ways to Post Office Protocol, not to mention the main reason for using IMap--you can have your emails perfectly mirrored to and synchronized with several devices.

And here's another error message I'm getting.  It indicates that my mail server is not an imap4 server.  i may have made an error in my thunderbird setup.  But now I can't find where to fix it.  I know it should be set to pop3.

Thanks.

Doesn't sound like a username or password kind of error. I read a post at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1174291 that makes me think you may possibly have a typographical error in the email address you are providing to the mail transfer agent that handles your email. I also saw the word "Dovecot" in that error message, and that means the mail server you're talking to doesn't like something about your email. Check to see about that typo I mentioned, or if the problem as described in the linked article makes more sense to you than it does to me, which I admit isn't much.

Do you get an error dialog when you try to send a message? If so, what does it say?

Thanks, anybody.

Re: Is Facebook messenger usable with JAWS?

Hi Shelly,
Thanks so much for your reply. But it sounds like nobody is using the Facebook messenger, which is a chat thing. Unfortunately, my sighted friends tell me that when you send a message to someone, Facebook does not notify them that that message is there. So it may be days to weeks before getting a response. I have teenaged family members who constantly use the messenger part of Facebook to talk back and forth, and I was hoping to be able to use it also.

Whenever someone leaves a message, I go to messages and then I can respond. I didn't put messenger on my phone. I do use facebook on the phone as well. I like the computer for when I want to search people because it's easier to find them than when you are on the phone. The phone is nice for when you want to read your news feed and you want to comment or like things. Hope this helps.

Problems with jaws 2018 and 2019

Fred Adams <hamshack@...>

I am using W 10 and jaws 18 at
present time. I have
installed both jaws 2018 and
jaws 2019 several times did
jaws repair and system restore
but no success. When I
install jaws 2018 and jaws
2019 both acts the same. I
have very little control in
navigating. I can not bring
up the JSC settings, system
settings or applications
settings and more. I can
bring up windows settings but
can not check or uncheck
anything. Any place there are
check marks I can not tell if
they are checked or unchecked.
Everytime I have installed
jaws, it has been from the
freedomscientific website. If
anyone has any suggestions on
this I will greatly appreciate
it. Jaws 17 and jaws 18 both
work just fine.

Thanks much,

Hi:

I’ve been using it for several months now.  I love how accessible it is, especially on the Apple /TV (I have a 4th generation as well).  It is not quite as accessible on the iPhone, at least not the submenus, but I may not be trying to open them correctly... Not sure about the iPad, though... There is nothing that is not accesssible/unlabeled/not described correctly on the Apple TV; it can be a bit more confusing on the iPhone, but it’s doable if you can figure out how to access the submenus... The DVR is awesome! Let me know if you have any other questions I can help with.

So I went to mobile facebook on the computer, then I went to chat. I picked a person who showed as currently active and entered on their name. What came up was the option to send a message, which, as I understand it, is a different option from messenger. Sighted people have told me that Facebook does not alert them to new messages.

Yeah there's really nothing special to it at all. I do like the messenger app though because it feels more instant. As in I use chat on the mobile site but have to refresh every so often. Regular Facebook though, I use via my browser.

Hi, I'm obviously not Steve lol. However, I've set up Thunderbird several times, that's in the account settings, Right where the name of your account is there's a tree view. Down arrow once and you should get to server settings. TB manually configured mine, but you can also input yours.
