Verizon Fios
John Holcomb II
Hey all, So I’m going to be getting rid of Comcast in 6 months or so, am I am curious about FIOS TV from Verizon. I’m getting Verizon so I have symmetrical speeds. Do they have an app for the TV watching for smartphones like Comcast does? Do they also have a disability answer desk too? Has anyone used the FIOS app for account access, paying bills, checking internet outages controlling Wi-Fi etc.? If so how accessible are these apps on android or iOS? Thanks, John

Re: a jaws-friendly hard drive tester?
Thomas N. Chan
chkdsk does record in the event viewer of windows. The following articles will tell you how despite its referring to windows 10 but it should work well in windows 7. https://windowsreport.com/chkdsk-logs-windows-10/ My take on this is simple, window NT is very different from older windows like 98 as it does not have DOS or other OS to boot itself up so, chkdsk will not run in windows, even if you can get those apps which you can find online, it's not going to work in windows properly itself. as there is mounting or dismounting involvement of files and system files etc. if you think your harddrive is faulty or failing, rather than finding ways to look at those logs, then just get it replaced. Even if you did look at the logs, and then find out there's really an error, you still need to replace it. I feel that harddrive is rather affordable, so if you can replace it yourself, then go for it. if not, you need someone to do it, you still need to do it eventually Regards, Thomas N. Chan

I had cataract surgery in 08or 09. After that I could still see enough to walk without a cane and buy groceries, but I started wearing very dark sunglasses because the light was too strong. I'll be seeing the quartermaster soon and will make sure he is aware of your needs.

The program may well have been run not as a command line program but using
the Windows interface. In that case, which check boxes were checked?
We know that the program did do something because the computer was
rebooted. If you run chkdsk on a computer and are checking the drive used
by the operating system, the computer must reboot before it runs and the message
spoke of rebooting.

Popping in Outlook has been resolved✌
Sugar
Hi friends As Mike asked, here is what a good friend of mine who works with Sparrow did. she tandem just now and the instructions are below. This totally removed that annoying popping noise.🎉 in my outlook. Note that I do not have 365 and it still worked for me. For the top and bottom tones, this indeed is a bug. I also had a issue with my contacts, Jaws 22 was not reading my contacts and this to has been reported. Most likely it will be fixed soon. Thanks Sugar

Re: Bose bluetooth sunglasses
Rick Alfaro
Hi. I have a pair of the Bose Tempos and absolutely love them. Podcasts and music sound quite good considering the size of the speaker drivers. Music sounds fuller than what you might think on a BlueTooth pair of sun glasses. The Tempos have a longer battery life than the other models which is why I decided on that model. They are expensive but last longer and sound better than other brands and models I have personally tried. Good luck.

I'm debating on buying a pair, and I'd probably listen to music a good bit with them but my main thing that I'd be doing with them for now is listening to old-time radio shows playing from an app on my phone while I'm walking on my treadmill. I know that not everybody listens to old-time radio, but since they are mostly voice as are podcasts I thought I might be able to get a good idea if the glasses are something I'd like by knowing what podcasts sound like. Right now I have a neck speaker hanging around my neck when I'm on the treadmill with my ears uncovered, and sometimes I can hear what I'm listening to and sometimes I can't and that's with the volume of the phone and the volume of the speaker around my neck both set at maximum. Thanks in advance for any comments. Troy

Oh dear Sis Donna, I worry about my nephew losing his treat! Let's work out
something privately, shall we? Here's the Alto pair for about $199; check it out here: https://www.amazon.com/Bose-Frames-Audio-Sunglasses-Black/dp/B07P7VVCDD/ref= sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=Bose+Sunglasses&qid=1635532261&sr=8-4 Before doing the math, please go check them out at Bestbuy or Microcenter. Other flavors include Tenor, Soprano, and Rondo. And, I'll tell Santa not to get out the sleds yet, I can wait my turn. Fun regards to my young man, have a great day! Olusegun, Santa won't be leaving any of these sunglasses at my house. I almost had a heart attack when I saw the price of $250+/- per pair. I was hoping $125 max, because they would serve two purposes for my 11yr old son, sunglasses & bluetooth to connect to his Apple watch. For me to pay $250 there better be a weekly maid to come clean up his room included.

outlook account/contacts issues
Madison Martin
Hi all,
Not sure if any of these issues can be fixed, but I figured I'd ask since you guys have helped me out before. I created an outlook.com account on Monday and since Tuesday I've had some issues that I'd like fixed. I have a bunch of old messages that I've kept and when I imported everything they were in my inbox, but yesterday I looked and I noticed that the oldest message that was there was from a year ago, but I had ones from 2018, 2019 and earlier in 2020. I also have 5 folders within my inbox and I noticed yesterday that all of the messages that were in one of the folders were gone as well. Any idea what could've happened to all of these messages between when I imported everything and yesterday, and also is there any way I might be able to get them back? Before anyone asks/assumes I didn't delete any of them, if I was going to do that I would've done that before I imported stuff. I don't look at any of these messages regularly, but I kept them just in case I ever needed/wanted to refer back to any of the info in any of them. Now when I imported all of my contacts I got some message saying that they couldn't be imported into this folder (the contacts one in outlook that comes up when you press control 3) so they'd be placed in another folder with the same name and that got put up where the sent and junk folders and those sorts of folders are. So I went into it and I was able to read through my contacts, but I wasn't able to do anything with them, like delete or edit any of them. Any idea why I might've gotten this message and if there's any way that I can get my contacts back into the normal contacts folder so that I can do stuff with them again when I need/want too? Now this account isn't an imap account like my other two accounts are, it's a Microsoft exchange account, I didn't ask for it to be created like this, it's just how it happened, could this explain any of my issues? I'd love to have it be an imap account, but not sure if it's possible to change this and even if it is I don't know how to do it. I'm using the latest versions of Jaws, Office 365 and Windows 10. Really hope there's something that can be done to help me, any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thanks Madison

I had a pair. The battery died after less than two years sadly. Personally I don't think they really sound good for music. My reason for buying them was to use with GPS apps as they do not cover the ears. If I were you I'd consider the air pods pro. They sound much better. Chris Judge
