You aren't using the correct command. You don't press them all at once. I said insert space and I then said followed by s. Issue the command insert and while holding insert, press space. Then release both keys. Type s.

There are many two part commands in JAWS using insert space as the first command, then another letter as the second. I haven't used JAWS for years so I don't know what they are in general, but some of them may be for things you want to do. You may want to inquire about where you find a list of such commands. Gene

Re: Right Windows Key doesn't work on New Keyboard

On many newer keyboards, the right hand windows key has been replaced by the fn key. When pressed in conjunction with the function keys, it makes them do various things like raising and lowering volume and, unfortunately, muting sound.

** This is the easiest and fastest way to
change from one open Tab to another Tab, by just Pressing the
Spacebar on any tab as you Right arrow across
the Tab bar Tool bar. ** when you go across the Tab bar Tool bar,
you can also close any open Tabs by Pressing the Spacebar on the close Tab
button.
Pressing F6 again from the tab bar tool bar,
you will hear Address and search bar Edit.
Pressing F6 again a third time will take you
back to the original page you were on when you Pressed F6 the first
time.
** Remember in my case you can
also Press Control+Tab, to look at your other two open
tabs.
I can also Press ALT+d, and Tab two
times to my favorites folder, and I can arrow down through my favorits
folder.
** Remember after Pressing ALT+d, you
can also Tab across to other items besides Favorites.
I can also Press ALT+f, followed by the letter
s, this will open the Edge settings.
I can also do an Internet search using either
Bing or Google.
I can also look at my home page.
I can also play around in Edge using Jaws 2020
to learn how to use the Edge browser.

About using Favorites in the new
Edge.
*My Jaws is set to auto forms
mode.
How do I add a folder to Favorites in
Edge.
Press Control+Shift+O,Press Escape to pop out
of forms mode.
Press Control+Home, to go to the top of the
page.
Press B for button two times ,you will
hear
Add favorite Button.
Add folder Button.
Press Enter on Add folder Button.
Type the name for your new folder and Press
Enter
**tip, I created anew folder called bible in
the Favorites bar.
Now Press Control+f4 to close this
tab.
Now I am going to show you how I manage
Favorites in Edge!
Press ALT+D, and Tab two times, you will hear,
Favorites button menu, Press the down arrow key to see your
Favorites.
As you Press the Down arrow key, you will hear
something like this on my computer.

So managing your Favorites will be done right
here in the Favorites Bar of the Edge browser using
Jaws.
**For example, saving The new Windows 10 and
Jaws group to Favorites in Edge.
First of all, go to our group home page in the
Edge browser.
Press Control+D,to open the name edit
box for your new Favorite.
I like this name, so now I will Tab one time
to choose where I want to save this Favorite site in the Edge
browser.
On my computer I can save it in three
places.
1. I can save it right in the Favorites
Bar area where my accounts are.
2. I can save it in the bible
folder.
3. I can save it in the other
folder.
Now remember the last saved location is
remembered for you when you go to save another site.
I will choose the other folder to save
our group home page, I have it come up already as a start tab
inEdge.
So whhen I tabbed one time from the name edit
box,Jaws said Other combo box,I left it on other Favorites.
I Tabbed again to a more button.
I Tabbed again to the done button,
I Pressed Enter.
My new site was successfully added to
Favorites in the Edge browser.
Do the same steps as above to add your
favorite sites in Edge.
I moved all my bible sites into my bible
folder.
Any sites that had long names, I saved them
again with a shortened name, I deleted the sites with the long
names.
Just highlight any site you wish to
delete, Press the Applications key, go down to delete and Press
enter.
So now my Favorites are finally
organized in the new Edge browser!
Ok read below for more ways to use Favorites
in the new Edge with Jaws.
How do I get to Favorites in the new
Edge?
There are many ways to get to Favorites with
Jaws in the new Edge.
Press ALT+f, press o
forFavorits.
You will land on, Favorites sub
menu.
Press down arrow to, Show favorites bar sub
menu, Press right arrow.
You will hear, Favorites sub menu Always
checked 1 of 3. .
*tip, Press enter to Check this item if it is
not Checked.
This way when you Press ALT+D, and Tab two
times, you will hear, Favorites button menu, Press down arrow to see your
Favorites.
If you Press the letter O, you will quickly
jump to your Other Favorites sub menu, just Press right arrow one time, first
letter navigation works in this
list of other Favorites. you can also Press, Control+Shift+B, to Show

I first went to the Freedom Scientific
website.

Freedom Scientific as the name for my new app, and backspaced the
rest of the name out of the edit box.

Now go to all apps, find the Freedom
Scientific app,highlight the app.
Press the applications key,arrow down to more
sub menu, right arrow,down arrow toOpen File Location, press the

Edit Field With Brave Browser Question Please.

Hi All,
Just for a few weeks maybe a month, everytime I type a search in the edit field using Brave, it keeps typing every letter as well as every word. This is driving me crazy. I have searched in the Brave settings, I've turned off audo complete to see if that would make a difference, I've checked JAWS 2021 Echo settings, and he is set to speak nothing as I type, but nothing seems to make a difference. Can someone please give me some suggestions as to how I might rectify this issue before I pull out my hair. This current issue is happening on Win 7 as well as Win 10. Thank you in advance. If you just activate that button and you are a free user, you will see advertising. You won't see it if you are a paid user.

You should right click the button if you are a free user and use save target or save link as, or whatever name your browser uses for the function. The button is coded to appear as a button but it is really a link, which is why you can right click it. Gene

Well considering he can’t get stuff to update he might not be able to do that. Also, JAWS and outlook tend to work best together. There are other options though such as Mail for Windows 10, and Thunderburg (which are both free.) John

It depends on which he has. If he is subscribed to a Microsoft365 subscription, then yes he’d be able to sign in and grab the office apps. However, if this is a standalone office version which was provided to him free of cost, then Hellen Keller services will have to go thru transferring the serial number to the new PC after deactivating the old one. HI Monte, This is quite interesting, I’m saying this because if Jim has been using Outlook, I would think he has an account. Who ever set up his Outlook account, I’m sure they created the account for him though. As far as the serial and Product keys or numbers, I thought MS stopped requiring those numbers maybe a couple of years ago. So this is something we might need to find out. When I set up my Windows 10, I went to Microsoft’s web site, and I signed in, and sure enough, it quickly downloaded my Office, with all my settings from my other PC in regards to my Imap settings.

Jim, you do not need the disk. You just need a micro soft account, which you can set up for free. Then you can go to the micro soft store and download the outlook, or office program. You will need the serial number to activate the software if you reinstall it. You can find the serial number for outlook on your computer using a program likie the Belarc Advisor.

Hi Jim, Is this unreliable pc you are referring to, the exact same one you have been working with for some months now? Is this unreliable PC the same one Microsoft couldn’t do anything with it? If this is the case, I wouldn’t buy a hard drive, as you don’t know if the issue is due to the hard drive although, it doesn’t sound like it is. If you take it to the Geek Squad, chances are they just might perform a reset, and charge you, as you can do a reset yourself, and if you don’t feel comfortable enough to do that yourself, you can call MS, and ask them to set up your pc to perform a reset. If you are going to get a new PC, and because you’ve dealt with this same issue, you might as well just deal with it until you get your new one.

Hi all, the Hellen Keller foundation is going to give me a new computer in three to four months. Until then, I have this very unreliable one to work with. I can’t update anything. I can’t get jaws to install anything. I have version 2018, but it won’t install anything past that, even though I have been authorized to have later versions.
