That probably works, but when you have more than 300 entries in your address book and can't remember all the nicknames and/or addresses, it's a bit tough.

You can do that but autocomplete works well in Thunderbird and it is often more simple.

Glad to help, I haven't used git hub that much so I thought it was
weird how it felt like I was just going round and round in circles. I
decided to explore the original page from top to bottom, then I
clicked on that first 2.2.1 release link and did another top down
exploration of the page. That's when I noticed that there was new info
at the bottom of the page. Now in reality, this may be some type of
pop up frame that logically sits next to the 2.2.1 release link, but
whatever it is, it's just cool that it is there and is downloadable.

I can't work with most settings on the Gail page

All settings you can work with in Gmail are available in the standard view. Some, but not nearly all, are available in the Basic HTML view. When I am in Standard View and press the settings button, I see a messsage below the button that says settings not available off line. Obviously, I'm online because I'm working with the page on the Internet and I see current messages. A Google search showed no relevant results. Since I almost nevver want to change settings, this isn't a problem but because it is a puzzling problem and because I may someday want access to something, does anyone have any idea what the problem is? I have third party cookies blocked and I may try changing that setting, but Google has never complained about that setting.

You may be able to press alt shift b for the bookmarks toolbar.
Once there, arrow right. You'll pass a few sites labels. You may come to something like Hidden bookmarks. Click that, there may be more there.

So when I booked marked the site I was on, I tabbed and created a different
folder for it to be saved in.
So all, I'm not sure where it's at after file/bookmarks when right arrowing
into the submenu.
I named the folder music, and I don't see it.
Answering genes question from earlier. I ctrl d to book mark the website, I
tab once and there I can create a new folder which I called music.
I'm not seeing music under file/bookmarks.

I suspect these are push notifications.  My first question is whether the browser in the phone is good enough to use at all extensively.  Is the point of push notifications to provide links to get more information or are they considered complete in themselves?

The clear downloads option is already unchecked. You don't have to worry about the extension changing anything before you get a chance to uncheck that option if you don't want it on.

The hide download shelf checkbox is not checked by default and you must check it to have that option, which stops automatic progress announcements to be on.

How to disable the Downloads bar in Chrome

When you download files in Chrome, a bar appears at the bottom of the window. It shows the file that’s downloading and its download progress. You can close
this bar by clicking the close button at the right corner. It won’t impact the download. The file will continue to download and you can open the
Downloads page
in Chrome (Ctrl+J) to view download progress. If the bar bothers you and you don’t want to close it each time you download a file, you can disable the
Downloads bar in Chrome with an extension.

In order to disable the Downloads bar in Chrome, you need to install the extension found at the link below.

the Always Clear Downloads extension. This extension can do two things; it can clear your Downloads list, and it can hide the Downloads bar. If you don’t
want the Downloads list to be cleared, you should change its setting first.

To stop the extension from clearing downloads, uncheck the ‘Clear downloads every few seconds’ option. To hide the Downloads bar, enable the ‘Disable download
shelf option’.

That’s really all you need to do. The next time you download a file, you will no longer see the downloads bar. The download will start normally, and you
will still see the green progress indicator on the Chrome taskbar icon.

If you want the extension to also clear your downloads, you should enable the ‘Clear downloads every few seconds’ option and specify how often the downloads
are cleared. By default, the extension clears downloads every ten seconds. This might be too often but you can change it. Unfortunately, you can only specify
the time in seconds so if you want the downloads to clear after every 24 hours, you’re going to have to enter 86,400. To clear them weekly, the number
gets bigger, 604800.

A while back, there was a more popular extension for hiding the downloads bar but it has since disappeared from the Chrome web store. The reason is likely
that Chrome disabled the API the extension used to hide it.
Chrome has undergone quite a design chang
e and it’s likely that during the process, the old extension broke. This one works with the latest version of Chrome. There are others like it but they
focus on clearing the Downloads list which, again, Chrome doesn’t let you do by default.

The good thing about this extension though is that it doesn’t force you to also clear downloads. You can use just one feature and leave the other unused.

it now. When I am downloading something, Jaws keeps announcing the
download process every 3 or 5 seconds and it interrupts anything I am
doing on the computer. How can I stop this nuissance please?

If they're text messages I don't see any reason why they would not arrive like any other text messages would Terri. Unless there's something about these types of messages which would make them behave differently than normal text messages.

I have not personally run into any text messages I wasn't able to read.

my speakers are giving me greef

Hello all

This brand new computer is giving me a headache.  If I walk away after reading my email, more often than not, when I come back, I’ll only get a low rumbling sound from my computer.  The speakers that I have on the top of the desk won’t work.  I then have to unplug them, and plug them back in again.  Is this a problem with my sound card?  I know the speakers themselves work just fine because I can use them to play music from my streem.

Any ideas would be grately appreciated.
