I don't have a current version of JAWS on my computer because I haven't used JAWS for years. On my very old version, when I left arrow, I don't hear anything. Using NVDA, I hear the address I am on.

You can write documents offline. You can also run Android apps, and manyn apps work just fine offline. You can run Linux apps on some Chromebooks as well.

The one thing I would mention about a chrome book, regardless of brand, is that the programs on the unit are on line.
For example, I do not think it has a word processor, email, etc. installed.

Hey there, Mary, if you're using any screen reader, you definitely want to go with 8 gigs of ram and not just 4 gigs. You'll get much better performance with your screen reader with 8 gigs of ram.
