Re: MS Word Skipping Pages

Try going to the View ribbon and choosing 1 page to be displayed.
The key sequence is Alt+W, followed by number row 1.
In addition to others suggestions make sure that “Reading Pane” is not checked under the “View” setting on your Word ribbon.

Subject: [TechTalk] MS Word Skipping Pages

Hello all, I’m having a problem with Microsoft Word skipping pages.  I can either arrow down and get odd or even pages, but can’t view both.  This is really difficult when selecting between two pages, as when I’m using Shift down arrow, it skips from page one to page three, or from page two to page four.  Is there a way I can stop this happening?  Thank you.

Re: importing addressbook

Mike B.

Howdy,

Here's a note I saved, so here's how to export the Outlook Express address book as a CSV file.

From: Gene
To export the Outlook Express address book as a comma separated values
text file do the following:
Each step starts on a new line.
Open the address book with the command control shift b.
Open the file menu and down arrow to export.
Press enter.
You are in a list of format choices.
Down arrow to other address book and press enter.
A dialog will open and you are placed in a list.
Down arrow to text file comma separated values.
Press enter.
A new dialog opens and you are in an edit field. The edit field is
announced as save exported file as.  To keep things simple, type the
following:
c:\addressbook.csv
and press enter.
Look at the syntax character by character if you have punctuation off in
your screen-reader.
Another dialog comes up with a lot of choices for fields that will be
included or not included.  You may have to make changes but you probably
won't.  You may look at this part of the dialog if you wish.  Or you can
just press enter again to export the addressbook.

After you press enter, there will be a short pause, after which you will
receive a message that the export is complete.  You are on an ok button.
Activate it, then press escape a few times to close the dialogs.  The
addressbook is still opened and you will probably want to close it.

If you have questions about the part of the procedure where you can make
changes in the dialog to cause items to be exported or not exported, let
us know.
The file will now be on your c drive, directly on the drive, not in any
folder.  Move it wherever you wish.

Gene

Stay safe and take care.  Mike.

You need to export the addressbook as a CSV file, not in the default Outlook
Express format.  Have you done that?  Aside from that, I don't use Outlook
so I can't tell you the import procedure, if you want to know that.

able to import the file into my new computer which is a windows 10 computer
using the Outlook program. I hope that someone can help me with this
problem.

Oh to add to what I said,

That surface you saw?

Unless it was the surface go, it was a 12 inch screen. So the laptop won’t be much bigger than that.

The surface laptop smallest is 13 inches screen.

It came with the tite case. It did have a kick stand, not much of one. I am only comparing it to the case my i-padd sits in. I think the magnet is stronger with the i-pad case verses the surface case. So it actually stands up in the ipad case but, the surface case was to top heavy. I wanted the pro so it would be lighter than a laptop. But, I did not feel I had a good typing  experience with the unit. I had for about a week. Now if it had a different case or kick stand,  I might have kept the surface. But, for me the keyboard was to thin and the screen over powered the set up. So might go look at the surface laptop but, I really did not want anything to much larger than my ipad.

Hello, I want to finally find a new laptop after almost 8 years, that is the last time I went and purcheased 1.

So I like the surface set up but, when I got it, I did not like how it sets up. It seens the screen is to heavy for the keyboard and it did not sit well unless you had a table handy. Are all the surfaces like this? I thought it would have the similar set up like my i-pad which I could type on my lap and the screen on the i-pad holds well. I am wondering if the magnets on the surface are not as strong as the ones off my i-pad?

It just seemed that my surface was to top heavy and it always wanted to flop over. So I set it back.

So someone told me to look in to a traditional laptop set up

But before I do this, is there a surface that has a better setup?

I liked the lightweight aspects of the surface along with the quickness of the surface.

Thanks Heather

Re: importing addressbook

Thomas N. Chan

The format like what Gene mention, must be in CSV format. else, outlook will not import.
Since its OE, so there's no other format beside CSV.
You just need to open Outlook, hit alt - f, then O and last I
It will open up the important export wizard
make sure you select import from a program or files and tab to next
then choose comma separated value
then follow the rest of the wizard and choose the CSV file.

Trouble reading in real time with Seeing AI

Sharon Hooley

Hi

I've tried using Seeing AI to read in short text mode to play in real time. The problem is that, when it stops after no activity is detected, I can't seem to make it work again without leaving the app, then opening it again. Is there a way to get it going again in the latest IOS update on the iPhone XR?

Thanks,

You don't have to create an account no, but doing so would help you to keep track of things.
Also premium users don't have to wait in line o if they upload files more then 2GB in size.

Once you are on the site, you won't see much. But there are perhaps two or
three unlabeled items that are announced as clicable. Try clicking them or
if you click one and it gets you where you want, you may not have to click
others. You can get to a lot of information and a typical home page sort of
page.

Hi John,

How / where do you create an account? I didn't see a create account on the
FromSmash website and the Smash website seems mostly about erectile
disfunction. Thanks much.

Stay safe and take care. Mike.

Omg, yes it was this list and its awesome!
I love fromsmash.com
Joe if you are on a PC, you can upload the file from the browser with no
file size limits.
If its under 2GB for free users then it'll be available as soon as its done
uploading to the smash servers.
If its over 2GB you'll have to wait 8 hours .
Premium users don't have this wait limitation and its only $5 a month.
They've got some Hella fast upload speeds, I was able to upload a gig file
in less than a minute. Downloading a file is that fast, too. My speed is
100/100MB for my ISP though.
The files from my location downloaded and uploaded at around 14MB/Sec.

I don't remember on which list this service was discussed but it appears
legitimate. It should meet your needs.
https://fromsmash.com/
Since I never heard of it before, you may want to wait for other comments
or look up reviews. But I've received one file from it and sent a file and
it appears to do what it says, transfer files with no advertising.

I'll have to play with it some more to determine just how to use it. I got
it to work but I'm not sure exactly what I did yet.

Hi, Gene,

I often send the links to my music projects to four or five people.

Sometimes I might not send all links at one time.

How many people do you want to download the files? It might be easier

signing up.

G
ood morning, List,

All I want to do is to place a file or files in either of these
facilities and send links to those people who I want to be able to
down load the files.

The instructions talk about many things these sites provide. All I
need, however, is this dropbox type applications.

I thank you very much.
